About Murray and Jane Beveridge

We have previously taught in London and enjoy what the great outdoors offers. Jane is English and Murray is Australian, we are slowly improving our French.

Our daughter Madison is 6 and is learning french at local primary school.

Hiking, cycling and running are our outdoor passions including drinking a good red wine on the front lawn.

Murray and Jane Beveridge purchased this farmhouse in 2014

Why Murray and Jane Beveridge chose Gers

We chose this property for its wow factor and its location to a bit of everything that is French. We have a fantastic climate that provides hot summers, mild spring and autumn seasons along with crisp winter days.

Our tranquil surroundings help you to relax, sleep well and to enjoy a well deserved holiday.

We are located in the Heart of the Midi-Pyrenees region and have access to all types of activities and day trips.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Panoramic views of the Pyrenees from the property will hold you mesmerised. If astronomy is to your liking wonderful views of the stars and moon must be seen and a telescope is available upon request.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Jane, Murray, Madison and Jake. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and kindness during our first of (hopefully) many visits to your tranquil piece of rural France. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Wonderfully relaxing

Had a lovely time at this great give. Very friendly, helpful, fun owners who went above and beyond to make our stay fabulous. Location is great - quiet but with lots of easily accessible day trips. Everything was clean and well maintained. Would recommend.

Our relaxing holiday in Southern France.

  • 5 of 5

The facilities at France Getaway exceeded our expectations and Murray and Jane were excellent hosts. They were very friendly and welcoming from when we arrived at Toulouse Airport. Our gite was very comfortable, clean and roomy with great facilities and views to the mountains and beyond. The grounds are extensive and offered relaxing strolls and a "cuppa" with our hosts. The pool was an added bonus and contributed to the gardens.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation to family and friends and will definitely return in the future if the chance arises. Murray and Jane went out of their way to organise trips / tours of the area which was greatly appreciated by us and the chance to view the night skies through Murray's telescope was an unexpected highlight.

A gorgeous retreat

  • 5 of 5

If your perfect holiday is peace and quiet, beautiful surroundings, lounging around with views of the Pyrenees in the distance and generally getting away from it all then I would highly recommend France Getaway. Having said this, there are plenty of nearby sites and places to visit. It is a cyclist's dream and I would recommend that if you don't drive here you rent a car from a nearby village to fully appreciate the wonderful surroundings. We visited the jazz festival in Marciac and a nearby lake for a swim (there is a great pool on site!) and plenty of other pretty places. You can go walking in the hills in the summer and the scenery is breathtaking. What really makes the place work are the lovely hosts Jane and Murray, who maintain the perfect balance between being attentive yet leaving you to your own devices! My wife and I have already booked the flights for the next visit this summer.

Jane and Murray were fantastic hosts. They welcomed us with wine and other essentials. They considered all the needs of our young family and really went that extra mile.

Highly recommend for any time of the year.

What a beautiful slice of heaven. Our room was more than we expected with traditional yet modern fittings, lovely fresh linen and a comfy bed. Stunning outlook over the balcony whilst enjoying complimentary breakfast. Lovely pool to dip into after a warm day. The hosts, Murray (and Aussie) and Jane (English) went out of their way to ensure our stay was one to remember. We'll be back!

Quiet, relaxing and loads to offer.

  • 4 of 5

I had a very relaxing time with Jane, Murray & Jake. The scenery was breathtaking, the property was beautiful and it was quiet - exactly what I required. My self contained gite (apartment) was spacious, clean & cozy throughout the cooler evenings. Murray planed 2 day trips for me which were exactly to my requirements. The best of all, it was very affordable. A well ran family business, that still has the family touch.
