The house features several living areas, four bedrooms, four and a half baths, two kitchens and two kitchenettes. It has been wonderfully preserved in areas, and each room is beautifully decorated with antique, period-style, and contemporary furnishings and fine art. Every effort has been made to integrate the best of ultra-modern technology with the 15th Century surroundings. Each suite is fitted with zone heating, and some have decorative electric “fireplaces”. Thick, medieval walls insulate beautifully – making the rooms warmer in winter, and cooler in summer. There is wifi internet access throughout. The property can be rented out as 4-bedroom property, as individual apartments and suites.
THE MASTER APARTMENT (1–2 persons)
High ceilings, oak beams, limestone tiles and wide-plank flooring are hallmarks of the largest apartment. The foyer opens through double-doors to the bedroom. A vaulted passage leads down five steps from the foyer to the Salon with its Renaissance wood-burning fireplace, deep velvet sofa and high-backed chairs. A second sofa, forms a cozy corner and fronts a dining table suitable for up to 8 people. There is also a fully equipped kitchen.
STUDIO SUITE (1–2 persons)
This charming suite features red and white 'toile de Jouey' wall covering. A wood-burning fireplace with facing chairs make a charming sitting area for two. The suite features wide plank flooring and ancient beams. In addition to the main room there is a kitchenette and a windowed, fully marbled bath. This apartment makes a most convenient 'extra bedroom' to the master apartment.
DUPLEX SUITE (1–4 persons)
A windowed entry with a limestone arched kitchenette gives out to a light flooded double height 'studio' living room. A stairway leads to the mezzanine bedroom with a 'mansard' window and also view over the lower level. The living room is arranged with two deep daybed/sofas flanking a wood burning fireplace.
STUDIO APARTMENT (1–2 persons)
The top floor apartment features mahogany furniture, a dormer window-seat and café table as well as an upholstered Louis XIII-style armchair. A separate beamed and sky-lit entry area and kitchenette lead to a windowed bathroom fitted with a large stall shower. In addition to the main room there is a kitchenette and a windowed, fully marbled bath.
This beautifully decorated 15th Century townhouse is situated in the heart of the fantastic Marais area. The location is fantastic, with the lovely village area of the Marais just a short walk away – filled with charming boutiques, cafes and restaurants. From this central location, it is very easy to get around the city and visit its major sights. The nearest metro station is Rambuteau.
