Recently renovated for high-demanding clients.
Top location from every point of view: in a prestigious 14th century palazzo on the Grand Canal facing the Accademia Bridge, next to Campo Santo Stefano.
Awesome location. Near the academia bridge with great restaurants near by but not the crush of st marks. I enjoyed a glass of wine nightly on the dock and waved at all the vaparetto going by. The dock made life so easy getting to and from the mainland. Yes I plan on staying there again which to me is the ultimate review. Thanks Giovanni for a great stay in Venice.
My husband, my daughter and her boyfriend stayed in this lovely apartment on the Grand Canal. The apartment itself has been beautifully restored, and the view from the living room is breathtaking! Located close to sidewalk cafes, but relatively removed from the throngs of people one finds touring Venice in the summertime, we found it to be a peaceful oasis on our trip.
One thing to note, the rest of the palazzo is being restored, so there is some construction going on within the building. We were never disturbed by it, but it is clear that there are renovations in progress. With any luck, Giovanni will soon have restored the remainder of the palazzo to the same level of quality and taste as he has restored this apartment!
As a side note, I believe the city of Venice is relatively strict about what happens outside of these historic homes. Don't entertain any ideas about lounging around on the dock--that's not an option!
If anyone is wondering (as I was) ...a private water taxi is the way to arrive at this apartment.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to be able to easily see the sights, but to then to escape the crowds and enjoy a cocktail and a sunset in the quiet of an historic building (and it does have an interesting history!).
We arrived by water taxi direct to the landing stage outside the apartment which was a fantastic experience on a sunny morning. We were met on arrival and everything was explained to us in a clear and very professional way. The apartment certainly has the wow factor and both bedrooms are equally comfortable and spacious. The lounge looks directly onto the grand canal and is fitted with comfortable furniture. Everything is provided and the area is ideal for walking out and eating. This is a fantastic venue to enjoy the delights of venice and we will certainly be returning in the near future.
Me and my wife arrived in Venis by train from Milan after a long trip in Europe.
In front of the station you can catch a water taxi very easy. We arrived in Canal Grande by boat and we stoppend in front of one of the most beautiful and full of history palace in Venice.
A very gentle Manager was waiting for us at the door and he showed us the apartment. Outside of the apartment you feel like in the time of Serenissima, but inside everything is modern and confortable, very well decorated and with a fanastic vew on Canal Grande!
Have breakfast with capuccino and croissant watching to Canal Grande, confortable sitting in this beautiful appartment, is really a Must!
Thank you Giovanni for your great hospitality. We will back very soon!
We enjoyed our stay immensely. The apartment is exactly as pictured--thoroughky charming. We took the water taxi from Santa Lucia and arrived in grand style at the porta d'aqua on the Grande Canal where Oriol was waiting for us. He explained everything thoroughly to us and gave us a great recommendation for dinner just a five minute walk from the apartment--we loved it so much, we went there twice. We will definitely be back next year.
All the reviews have been pretty much correct except for it being quiet. My husband and two boys (ages 13 and 16) arrived the end of July and they started renovating the apartments upstairs. We wouldn't have minded the noise because we were gone sightseeing during the day but they started jackhammering at 7:45am in the morning! We had to call the manager to have housekeeping come to clean up the debris from the ceiling plaster falling down in the bedroom and bathroom. Definitely ask if they are done renovating before you book!
