About this property

In a very huge Provencal landscape, you will hear silence and cicadas

This small stone house fully renovated in a sober and classic style offers great comfort with 2 large bedrooms equipped with high quality beds convertible into a large bed or single beds.
Ideal for 4 people, the house can accommodate a 5th guest in the sofa-bed in the Mezzanine living room and a baby for whom all the necessary equipment is provided (cot, high chair and changing mattress). The comfortable bathroom is equipped with a large shower and a toilet.
A large East-exposed shaded terrace that is comfortably furnished will welcome you for meals around the barbecue and relaxing siesta in the soft sofa facing the perched village of Lurs.
You can relax while playing ping-pong or pushing your children on the swing before swimming in a large 6x10 m pool that used to be an old stone pond by the fountain in the shade of the old willows.
You can have nice holidays without leaving the property but if you want to go sightseeing and discover our region, in a 50 km perimeter, according to your wishes you can discover the splendid Verdon Gorge (swimming, canyoning, sailing, pedalo, etc.), the Plateau de Valensole and its exceptional lavender fields, the Lure Mountain, Saint-Michel-l’Observatoire where observations of night sky are offered to visitors, the great historical villages of the Luberon (Gordes, Lourmarin, Bonnieux, Lacoste, etc.), the remarkable Château de Sauvan dating from the 18th century and the Sisteron Citadel where take place many concerts. If you go a bit further, you can visit Aix-en-Provence, Marseille or Avignon.
If you are interested in industrial life, you will visit the cosmetics factory “L’Occitane” or many mills that produce famous olive oils (for example: Arizzi in Les Mées). Finally, if a higher view can seduce you, a balloon flight with delight you.

Relaxing Location
What a relaxing and peaceful location. Marielle and Philippe are lovely, welcoming people and it was a joy to stay at their holiday cottage. The views are beautiful, unspoilt and it is so very quiet. We would love to return.

If you are looking for peace and quiet with fabulous countryside views then this is the place.
We enjoyed our three weeks in this charming detached rural property and the owner could not have been more helpful. For 10 days our daughter, her partner and their two twins joined us and this proved to be very successful in every way. We would certainly recommend anyone who wants to get away from the madding crowd to stay in this cottage. A car is essential as the nearby villages and towns are not within walking distance and be warned the drive is over 1 kilometre long and something of a challenge for a low clearance vehicle!

A stunning house with outstanding views of the countryside
A beautiful, spacious and rustic building decorated impeccably, providing all of the amenities you could need. My family and I stayed for two weeks, we really just wanted somewhere we could spend time together and decompress from our busy lives. The grounds are so peaceful and brimming with flora and forna, surrounded by breathtaking views of the countryside. The outside terrace was the perfect space for us to hang out together with a comfy sofa, an outdoor kitchen and a BBQ area. The pool was amazing and provided real respite from the sun. Our hosts, Marielle and Philippe were so welcoming and friendly. They made us feel right at home. They were attentive and also informative in terms of where could visit during our stay. They were even kind enough to share some figs from their orchard with us! We would definitely return to this wonderful place!

Wonderful views
A tranquil location, with vistas that reach over fields of corn & melon to the beautiful village of Pierrerue and Lurs and the Alps beyond. Charming hosts Marielle & Phillip on site to give advice on local attractions including the vibrant Monday market at Forcalquier.

About the host

Host profile image
Newly retired (former prefect), mother and grandmother settled with my partner, former industrialist, in this region where one of my sisters work as a doctor, I have been seduced by this region on my regular trips here.
I really like this new role of lady of the house and host because I love, just like my partner, to meet and share.

Why they chose this property

I have been seduced by this region on my regular trips and because I have been working here for a time. I appreciated the different climate, cold in winter, very bright in between seasons and very hot in summer but never scorching because nights are cool enough 450 m in altitude.
I also loved the culture of Provence which landscape is dotted with stylish architecture and structured vegetation. I loved the art of living in the shade of the plane trees and the lapping of the fountains. I loved walking in the old shaded streets before going to a concert festival, drinking a “Bardouin” Pastis of Forcalquier, the “Rolls des Pastis” or enjoying one of the many traditional meals.
I would be delighted to share all this with you.

What makes this property unique

As all our visitors, you will remain speechless facing the landscape that is very large, very hilly, without artificial, spectacular or impressive obstacles. This setting, that encouraged us to settle here, exudes contagious serenity to which we are sensitive. A 5-year-old girl said “I am watching, it is beautiful as a painting”. And this is exactly what we feel in the Provencal Tuscany.
The house is in harmony with this landscape and also exudes a tranquillity that will seduce you and allow you to recharge your batteries before going back.
