Situated in the heart of the ancient market town of Guisborough, and dating back to the 1800's this semi-detached mews cottage has been lovingly restored by the present owner. The cobbled streets of Guisborough are dominated by the Augustine Priory ruins founded in 1119 by Robert de Brus II.

Gateway to the North York Moors National Park where bridle paths and cycle tracks lead to pretty little villages and friendly local tea rooms tucked away deep in the valleys.

An ideal holiday location for exploring the Heritage coastline. The Victorian seaside town of Saltburn is but a short drive. Continue your journey along the coast, and visit the smugglers coves at Staithes and Runswick Bay and then Whitby, the famous fishing port.

Primrose Cottage is conveniently located close to Shops, pubs and restaurants within 20 yards.

Ground floor: Lounge with large comfortable sofa and dining table, kitchen.

First floor: 1 double bedroom with king-size bed, en-suite with large shower, toilet and basin.

Gas central heating, all fuel and power, bed linen and towels are included. High speed wireless broadband is provided. There is a washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment, oven and microwave. There is a patio with outdoor furniture and barbecue.

On street parking. Sorry, no pets. No smoking please. Flexible changeover days.

Perfect base for visiting the Cleveland and Durham area

A compact and centrally located unit with all you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Shops are literally next door. Access by a quiet alley off main street. Owners give guidance about where to park and provide "resident" permits.

We stayed here for 3 weeks The flat was very clean and well supplied. We felt welcome and someone was always available if we needed anything. The owners Ian and Vanessa were very accommodating and kind. We thoroughly enjoyed Guisborough. Everything we needed was close at hand and we walked everywhere easily. We would return to this flat if we came back and would recommend it to anyone who wants some quiet but enjoyable days in the beautiful village of Guisborough.

Highly recommended.

Positives : very comfortable, modern, spotlessly clean, perfect position on the High St but extremely quiet because it is tucked behind the shops. Entrance is through a door, and tunnel. Excellent WiFi and sat TV. Lovely shower with heaps of hot water (no bath). Very good central heating. Stocked with everything we needed but still heaps of free cupboard and drawer space. Friendly, helpful landlords on site.

Negatives : kitchen is tight and really only one person can work in there at a time. The gas oven didn't reach temperature. Could have had a few jigsaw puzzles or boardgames as well as more up to date area literature. And our stay started badly when we were unable to contact the owner before and after our arrival - as required to get the address and key for the property. However, I'm sure that doesn't usually happen.

Very well equipped cottage and excellent service

The owners dealt with our booking request in a very prompt and business-like manner. On arrival we found them to be very friendly and welcoming.

The cottage was as described - very well equipped and freshly decorated. The downstairs rooms were on the small side and the kitchen in particular felt rather cramped. The cottage is located off the main street up an alley, accessed via a locked door. This meant it felt very secure and was quiet at all times. The only downside was the lack of any view or outlook, other than a back yard.

The town of Guisborough is small but has a surprising variety of restaurants and take-aways, all within a few minutes walk of the cottage. It's also very well located for taking trips to the coast or to the Moors.

Overall we would recommend this property and would stay there again if in the area. (Worth noting too that there is a larger adjoining cottage which was not available for our holiday dates.)
