I am an housewife. I am married with Vittorio and i have two sons. I live in Rome and I like to i have the chance... When it is not possible i like to go to my beautiful apartament in Ostia to relax and enjoy the sea view.
Owner purchased this Apartment in 2011
Why Owner chose Municipio X
It is nice and new!...Me and my husband decided to modernize it in 2014 to have a wide living area looking at the sea! You can easily reach everithing you may need without your car! Beaches, restaurant a beautiful park with merry go round for your kids!
What makes this Apartment unique
My house is superquiet and is very very close to the beach! It means that if you have childrens, you do not have to walk at all, the beach it is just around the corner. Moreover ,as it is a 1920 building, the walls are very wide compared to the modern ones and allow the apartament to be very cool even during hot summer periods!

Spacious, bright, clean apartment with a view of the sea!
Giancarla's apartment was absolutely wonderful! The rooms are large and airy, and the apartment was very clean. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bedrooms very comfortable. The neighborhood had everything we needed for our vacation, supermarkets, restaurants, gas station, free street parking. We went to the local free beach which was very nice, and had an evening aperitif at Il Curvone, the local beach bar. We also went to the free beach at Cancello Due, which we enjoyed very much. You can go there on public transportation. Lorenzo was a very, very helpful host. He gave us information about taxis, how to get into Rome on public transit, local restaurants and gelaterias. He even booked a taxi to the airport for our friend. Lorenzo was a wonderful host, and we recommend Giancarla's apartment to anyone who would love a fabulous vacation!
I would like to thank you!
It was a big big pleasure to host both of you and i am moved by your words.
I have nothing to say but...happy you appreciate the apartment and my help and i hope to meet you again in the future!
The listing was deceptive. We had to leave.
This property is not as listed on Homeaway. The amenities states the apartment has air conditioning, yet when I asked the manager about turning the air conditioner on because it was extremely hot, he said the remote controls were at his house in Rome, but that the apartment would cool down later in the evening. I requested that he retrieve the remote controls so we could turn on the air conditioning.
The apartment was dirty, the bathroom rugs were dirty, the shower was rusted and moldy and the bedding on the master bed was smelly. Also, the listing states the apartment is on the second floor with no elevator, yet it’s actually on the third floor with 56 steps to climb to reach the apartment. With luggage that is quite a trek! The manager said the first floor didn’t count because it was “the raised ground floor.” Again, 56 steps are a lot of steps to walk up and down.
The apartment didn’t cool down by the next morning and given the other issues I discovered, we had to leave and find another place to stay.
I found the manager to be deceptive plus he didn’t respond to my message about the apartment issues until three days after we vacated.
Apparently, I would not recommend renting this property.
the fact you are hiding yourself behind an anonymous review says a lot!
The only problem is: "YOU DIDN'T READ MY LIST".
You found something "unescpected" because you didn't take your time to read my web page.
If you are unable to walk on stairs, i am sorry about it, but you admit you didn't read there is no elevator....while is one of the first information given.
If you want a private car park while is not shown on my web page whitin amenities and you don't read my aswer to your message, were i clearely say there is no option for it, how can it be my foult?
Madam, you agreede on this point also!
If you do not read the informations about air condition location an where is provided i really don't know how to help you.
About the floor...i confirm you once again the apartment is on the second floor because this is the reality and a property deed assumes it also.
As there is nothing wrong to say about me and the apartment, you have no option but to say something that is absolutely insincere.
You confirmed me that you wanyed to stay, signing the rental contract also, but you changed your mind and after two days you vacated the apartment without telling me nothing...i discovered that only because i was looking after you!.... and now you point your finger on me?
I've always done my best with all my clients and especially with both of you.... but if you do not have the will to enjoy your holiday and relax...well i have no power over this!
Clean, comfortable, great location
Big two bedroom flat, very nicely equipped kitchen. About a block from the private and public beach. Lorenzo was extremely helpful with any questions we had and made us feel very welcome.
Thanks Richard it was a big pleasure to host you.
Beautiful Apartment - Great Location
My husband stayed here during the last few days of our honeymoon so we could unwind after a few days in Rome and Venice. The apartment was beautiful, spacious and very well furnished. The location is just as described, one block away from the free and paid beaches and within walking distance of the train station, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Ostia is not a tourist town or a resort, truly just a suburb of Rome by the beach. Lorenzo was an amazing host, helping us get to the apartment, met us there and showed us around including reviewing the town and important items on the map. He made sure we were all set if we were planning on staying local or traveling into Rome and was very responsive via Whatsapp. The trip into Rome via public transportation took about 1.5 hours+ but was very inexpensive, $1.50. Highly recommend if you are looking for a low-key stay with the option to go into Rome.
Thanks for your beatiful review Megan!
Happy you liked the apartment and its features.
Was a pleasure to host you and thanks a lot for how you treated the apartment!
See you soon.
Our stay at Giancarla's house
This was my first experience with HomeAway and I am glad that Lorenzo from Giancarla's house was who I was dealing with. It was easy to communicate with him he gave me all the directions and instructions on how to get to the apartment and what to do when we got there. the apartment is big clean and fully functional for 4 people.
We were close to the train station which took us to downtown Rome.
I loved the apartment and highly recommend it to anyone who would like to have a home like experience.
Thanks Lorenzo for everything
A la prosima
Thanks a lot for the beautiful review Lina..i really appreciate your kindness!
Hope to see you once again in the future!
Spacious and authentic
We had a great time in Ostia and fully immersed in the Italian way of life. Apartment had everything we needed and was close to the beach and to train station for the trips to Rome marvels. Traveled on the local buses to the beaches a bit further away (Cancelli) which was quite pleasant and convenient. We managed to avoid using AC and it felt ok without it.
We are less than 100 meters from the beach, and you have all the services of the coast of Ostia available, from factories to public beaches for the day, the night life with bars, restaurant, disco ecc.
The apartment is super quiet and you can rest peacefully!
The house is very close to the train station Lido Centro. You can walk to the station from where the train will take you to the Pyramid Station, already the center of Rome, where you can take the metro line B to get to the Coliseum or a bus from the many present in the square adjacent to the station.
If you do not want to walk, near the house there are two buses for Lido Centro.
If you have children you will enjoy the proximity of the beach.
Zoomarine, in Torvajanica, where you can have a nice day looking at dolphin, seals ecc.
Just outside the door you have a garden and within 10 minuten on foot you can find also carousel.
Ostia is featured by a very wide pine forest where you can have a beautiful walk or you can play football ecc.
In few words you are at the sea with all the luxuries that a city can offer: atm machines, cinema, bar, restaurant, supermarket, pharmacy, hospital, ancient ruins just aruond the corner.
