Spacious, clean, and cool apartment in a charming location

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at Marcello’s apartment. It is located next to an old castle right near the water. There is a stunning view of the coast and Mt. Vesuvius. The apartment was air conditioned which was very nice for my mother. We hadn’t had this luxury at other apartments in Florence and Rome. We also used the washing machine which was necessary near the end of our two week stay in Italy.

Marcello and his assistant were friendly and provided thorough and clear directions and check in instructions. They made us feel at home. We hope to stay again in the future if we can!

Great location, spacious apartment

  • 4 of 5

This is a wonderful apartment in a great location. Just a couple negatives: If you are over 6 feet tall, you might have trouble staying here. Most rooms have very low ceilings and doorways. The air conditioning unit doesn't work very well. We were here in September when the weather was mild, not hot, and the upstairs bedrooms became warm enough that windows had to be opened at night. That would have been fine, except there was a very noisy bar right outside the apartment, which didn't quiet down until 2 a.m. This happened every night of our 3-night stay.

Owner's Response: Dear Susan, thank you for your kind review.Thank you also for your remarks. If the air conditioning works properly there is no need to open the windows. That means I have to check and fix it. Next time if you have a problem or if something doesn't work during your stay, just let me know. I have a person working for me who fixes everything also during the guests' stay. If you had closed the windows also the noise would have been not that disturbing. Next time get in touch! All the best Marcello

Wonderful apartment and location in Naples

  • 5 of 5

It is a perfect apartment with easy walking access to lots of different areas and sites. After a long day it was a delight to return to the Borgo to relax and recharge for the evening. Cooking

some meals made one seem a bit less of a tourist. However, the bar cafes and pizzerias

lured one in more often than not.Thank you Marcello and Simone.

Fantastic spacious apartment in historic area next to the sea

  • 5 of 5

The apartment lives up to expectations and I would not have chosen any other area in preference. 4 of us had plenty of room and we all enjoyed swaying in the hammock (2 adults and 19 & 22 year old)! The castell dell 'ovo outside is imposing and the pizzarias and bars are welcoming and enjoyable in the area. Taxi rank is nearby (5 minute walk) . Nearest trains are a bit further but we walked in the city area. We hired a car for 2 days to drive the amalfi coast and to visit pompeii although pompeii can be reached easily by train from piazza garibaldi (50 minute walk or get a cab) . Nearby car rental on via San Lucia very helpful but we found it hard to understand the terms of contract in Italian so might have gone elsewhere to be on more familiar ground. Marcello suggested parking in a nearby garage which was fine for our overnight rental. We took 2 free guided walks at the start of the week which were really great to get a feel for the old town and area of Naples (donations can be given after the walk) . Our last day we took a train from piazza amadeo to pozzuilo and went to the volcano solfatara and the amphitheatre, both were excellent. Finally the archaelogical museum was amazing. We would really recommend this apartment and marcello was brilliant with all his help along the way!

Fantastic apartment

  • 5 of 5

This large, comfortable, well appointed apartment is situated perfectly for seeing the sights of Naples and the surrounding area. Everything is within easy reach. The Borgo itself is a tiny little refuge of character and charm, removed from the ever exuberant beat of Naples itself.

Simona and Marcello could not habe been more accommodating or lovingly professional, a welcome aid for travelers to an unknown area. Every question, every need was attended to. When thinking of a place to stay in Naples this is it!

The house is located within the Borgo Marinari, a unique and magical place in the heart of Naples. The village, dominated by the massive tuff of Castel dell, is an inevitable destination for walking tourists and Neapolitans, for its breathtaking views and its great atmosphere characteristic. It is also a short walk from the most exclusive hotels in the city.

The area is also full of bars and restaurants. On foot you can reach various city attractions:

- The famous promenade of Via Caracciolo, from which the village is separated by a bridge, walking in two minutes, which offers one of the most beautiful views of the city. A first via Caracciolo find breathtaking views and then pizzerias, bars and restaurants. The street is pedestrianized and is therefore ideal for walking, photo, jogging and cycling.

- The elegant Chiaia area, which is the shopping hub of Naples, as well as the social life and night;

- The monumental Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace and the National Library.

- The area of Saint Lucia where there are pharmacies, many supermarkets for shopping and various shops.

The village is also connected by bus to the old town, protected by UNESCO and custodian of one of the major historical and artistic heritage of Europe.

You can easily reach by bus port that connects Naples to Ischia, Capri and Amalfi.

Like many historic areas in Italy, the Borgo Marinari is a pedestrian. You can, however, park the car in the immediate vicinity (for more information contact us!)
