The farm nestles at the end of a long private driveway and offers total peace and seclusion.Forming part of what was once a working farm Owl cottage has been newly renovated in what was once the main barn. Our holiday cottage is set in the beautiful rural Ribble Valley and are self-catering, equipped with every facility.
Whether you want to simply relax, enjoy outdoor activities with family, enjoy a romantic weekend, it’s all available right here at Crimpton Cottages in the heart of the Ribble Valley, historic places to visit, fine dining and much, much more available right on your doorstep, a truly English holiday break at a price you can afford, time and time again.
Five night stay-Hosts were really welcoming and had excellent knowledge of the area and recommended trips and places to eat.The cottage has traditional flagged floors and is excellently maintained with all facilities including dishwasher. There is a garden at the back with furniture so we could eat outside and the views from the front were stunning.Lovely walks and villages nearby including Slaidburn, Bolton in Bowland and Dunsop Bridge. We had a delicious meal at Inn at Whitewell and The Waddington Arms. Owl Cottage is a great place to stay if you want to escape the high tech world and relax, very limited phone signal but that didn't bother us, just walked or drove to pick one up when needed.Definitely recommend!
The cottage is lovely with a fabulous view and very peaceful. The cottage is also a short drive from The Inn at Whitwell, a fantastic place to eat. Wendy was very welcoming and could not do enough to make our stay comfortable.
The cottage has room for up to three; all the necessary equipment in good order; everything clean and tidy. In addition our hosts added that little extra with festive decorations for our end-of-year visit.
The cottage is an extension of a Grade II listed dwelling with history going back to the Reformation. It faces north on the slopes of a hill with woodland and fields behind and a wide panorama in front over sheep fields and conservation land. This is the countryside that inspired Tolkien as a boy later to invent Middle Earth and you will understand Lord of the Rings far better once you have visited this place.
Our hosts were friendly, attentive and relaxed. The farm they run has sheep, chickens and ducks. No dogs or cats.. as far as we could tell.
We want to go back.
