Beautiful three level townhouse situated in the historic whitewashed village of Alora. Sleeps 6-8 people . Nestled between three hills topped by the ruins of a moorish castle.Our townhouse is in a fantastic central location in the village on a quiet no through road. A great place to stay and explore Alora and the wonderful surrounding areas.Originally it was two houses made in to one large one with a central stairwell and glass atrium joining them together.The central staircase leads to the master bedroom with en - suite and a large dressing area where we have bunk beds. Perfect as a family room. The top level of the house leads to a large covered patio with a new kitchenette to prepare your breakfast, lunch and BBQ food with french doors leading to our top terrace with views of the moorish castle and surrounding areas. The property also has a dining room and living room which has a small covered patio at the rear of the property. The second staircase at the front of the property leads to a further two bedrooms one with a balcony , a walk in wardrobe and bathroom.

A short stroll to all tapas bars, local shops, restaurants and weekly market. Alora has a rich history dating back to prehistoric times with its own small museum and ruins of a moorish castle. Alora and the surrounding areas are outstanding with nature reserves and national parks ideal for climbing, cycling and walking holidays . Alora is 40 mins inland from Malaga airport by car. There is also an excellent train service.

A house with great potential

We spent a wonderful weekend in this pretty and central house in Álora - a village that has remained astonishingly "normal" considering the quantities of foreign residents in other Andalusian towns. Fantastic landscapes within a one-hour radius are to be explored, especially of course the recently reopened Desfiladero de los Gaitanes.

The house itself is a very well equipped homebase, its outstanding feature the roof terrace with fantastic views and the advantage of the kitchenette right next to it and a barbecue. However, shade for the daytime (it was already very hot in the beginning of May) and some outdoor light for the evening (it was difficult to improvise something to be able to see our food) would be nice. Be aware of the very top step when going down - it can be very treacherous.

There is plenty of space, bedroom 3 overlooks the inner courtyard (not obvious from the ad) and is the quietest. The plumbing is somewhat fragile, we had the bad luck of a leaking shower which the host incorrectly attributed to careless use of the shower curtain. 15 minutes of mopping up a big quantity of water put a damper on our last (romantic) night ...

However, I am sure these minor inconveniences are easy to get fixed, as this house really has the makings for being an ideal accomodation.
