The Catskills is a magical place in upstate New York, unspoiled and a real retreat. Whether you want to enjoy the skiing, tubing and other winter activities or escape and spend quiet time or gather for a family occasion the house, its views and surrounding area enable something for everyone. It is truly our second home that we are happy to share.
A wonderful large get away in a beautiful peaceful location yet lots of activities with a short drive. House is wonderfully equipped and very comfortable. Huge kitchen, separate dining room and large deck with comfortable sofas to watch the sun go down. Plenty of space for children of all ages - even a bar and disco ball in the basement. Hot sunny days and cool night meant perfect temperatures for everyone. Children loved the pools at Mine Kill State park and the kayaking. Super farms shops with local products and fruit picking. We will definitely return.
This house and property were very nice. A few friends and I came up here for a long weekend and were happy with our decision to book this place.
Adrienne was our point of contact. She was quick with answering my many questions before booking and also very helpful after booking the place. Before checking in, she provided lots of information about the house and how do turn on the water, where to get groceries, how to use the water heater, etc.
This place has no cell service for AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile. None near by either. There is Wifi but it's over DSL, and seemed to cut off sometimes. We were able to stream an NFL game on Sunday and it worked good enough for that. There is a nice TV in the basement with HDMI inputs.
Property is beautiful, up a short unpaved driveway away from any traffic or other houses. There were nice trails going up to the top of the mountain, about 500 ft climb. Nice views at the top where there is a cleared out pipeline for miles and miles.
We made good use of the kitchen and the grill. They had everything we needed except an electric griddle which we brought. The bedrooms were comfortable and they provided all the towels and bedding needed. There were some flies in the house when we got there but it wasn't took much a flyswatter and a vacuum couldn't handle.
The yard and deck were our favorite place to hang out. There is lots of sunlight and room to spread out. We brought up some lawn games while there and had lots of fun. There is also a State Park nearby and less than a mile away is the Long Path, a 357 mile trail from NYC to Albany. We spent some time away from the property and checking out these features too. Fortunately, there wasn't much a need to leave since the house has everything we were there for.
I would recommend this property for folks looking for a nice to get away for a bit and disconnect from emails, phone calls, traffic, and regular life.
We had a wonderful time at this well cared for spacious home. The property is beautiful, private, and pristine. We were pleased with the size of bedrooms, the comfort of the beds and the cleanliness of the home. There are plenty of games and movies for kids, a well stocked kitchen, and nice lounging areas for the grown-ups. There are even some nice walks and runs right out the front and back doors of the house. We loved it and we will be back!
We stayed at this property for 4 days to attend the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction as a birthday present for my husband. There were three of us and the property would have comfortably held more.
The kitchen was well stocked as we did quite a bit of cooking. My husband and father in law played dominoes on the back deck in the evening and the beds were comfy with multiple pillows to choose from. There was a selection of music, cds, to listen to and the instructions were very clear to follow once arriving at the property.
The driveway is a little tricky to find as it is past the mailbox about 30 yards and it is not very well marked. Once you find it though you will find it easily after that first time. I would recommend arriving during the day. The master bathroom is very roomy but there is not a separate door or curtain providing privacy from the bedroom and toilet area/shower.
The owner was very easy to work with and prompt with all communication. We would stay here again and would recommend it to others.
Less than a half hour to Wyndham and Plattekill ski resorts which are great family friendly places to ski. The owners catered to all our needs. The house was spacious, the back garden fun for snowman building and sledding, the rooms comfortable. Fireplace and basement were perfect to relax in after a day on the slopes.
My wife and I rented the house because our son was getting married at a mountain top home a few miles away. The four large bedrooms gave us plenty of room for my mother, my son and daughter-in-law and grandson. The master bedroom was huge. The beds were very comfortable. The property was spacious and very private. We loved every minute we were there!
