Le Petit Marais is a recently restored traditional Stone Gite Situated in a thriving hamlet on the beautiful Gironde/Dordogne border. An area where 'woods meets wine' it is close to Bordeaux, Bergerac and St. Emilion.
Le Petit Marais is open from April to October and offers one bedroom, self contained accommodation on one level with private garden and parking.
With easy access off a main road and surrounded by French neighbours, it offers a real taste of rural French life.
Le Petit Marais has electric heating and is fully double glazed.
All bed linen and towels are provided.
The Lounge-Diner offers a comfortable sitting area with TV/DVD player (French and English channels). A selection of DVDs and books are also provided.
The modern kitchen is fully equipped and includes:-
gas cooker, fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. Laundry facilities include drying rack, ironing board and iron.
The shower room has a walk-in shower, basin, toilet and heated towel rail.
The bedroom has a double bed, a wardrobe with hanging and shelving, a mirror and hair dryer.
There is a private self-contained garden with solar powered outdoor lighting, dining table and chairs and BBQ.
The region of Aquitaine is richly diverse in its geography. Extending from the Atlantic coast to the gorges of Sarlat, it offers beaches, forest, rivers and some of the best wine producing country in the world.
The historical city of Bordeaux (45km) and the ancient towns of Bergerac (40km) and St Emilion (15km) are all steeped in history as well as offering the opportunity to sample their world famous wines.
More locally there is an equestrian centre within walking distance, the beautiful St. Emilionnaise golf complex (3 km) and numerous walking and cycling opportunities.
The nearest town is Castillon la Bataille(7 km) which is situated on the banks of the Dordogne river.It has a train station, all modern day facilities and an excellent Monday morning market. Throughout the summer months it hosts the live re-enactment of the The Bataille of Castillon, which ended the 100 years war.
St Philippe d'Aiguille (4 km) -Has a local bakery, a small general store, bar, post office and tennis court.
Villefranche de Lonchat (5 km) - An English bastide town with post office, bar, restaurant and large leisure lake.
St Michel de Montagne (3 km) - This beautiful wine producing chateau is of huge French historical significance and is open to the public all year round.
There are numerous chateaus in the vicinity selling wine directly to the public.

There are Flights to Bordeaux Airport (55 kms) and Bergerac Airport (45 kms) from many UK airports and a Train TGV service from Paris to Bordeaux.
