About The Owner

We live in Nashville, 1.5 hours from the property. We bought the house, which was built in 2001, in 2005. We fell in love with the view and my husband attended the University of the South.

The Owner purchased this house in 2005

Why The Owner chose Monteagle

The view takes your breath away and it stunning every season and time of day - even when it rains and the clouds roll through. We are secluded on 6 wooded acres, but a 5 minute walk to the pool and tennis courts at Clifftops - which is like a natural park. Also, we are just 5 miles from the University of the South. The house is new and comfortable - it was designed for family gatherings with big porch, fireplace and open kitchen.

What makes this house unique

The house has four bedrooms, 3 which face the mountain. It has 2.5 baths - stereo system with built in speakers and two televisions. It is surrounded by the woods - has many walking trails in Clifftops, the community. Plus, there is a lake, pool, swing set, basketball and tennis in the community, which is gated.

Terrific house with stunning view near University of the South!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at this house many times. It is high quality, newer construction and convenient. Not only does it have great amenities - like porch with view, big fireplace and built in stereo - it is on wooded lot - but 5 minutes from Sewanee. It is well outfitted and comfortable. The house has a huge open room that is great for a group. It is a close walk to the pool and tennis courts. We love this place!

Ideal retreat

  • 5 of 5

The home is beautiful and comfortable, and is ideally placed to take full advantage of the georgeous surroundings. Among its best features are the spacious, functional kitchen and the enormous porch with relaxing furniture and a breathtaking view. It is the perfect place for a weekend (or longer!) retreat.

Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This house has everything!! Screened porch, decks, great kitchen ( we cooked two incredible meals and ate on the deck overlooking the mountains) amazing views from every room, plenty of space to stretch out and read, play games, or nap, challenging , fun, hiking right out the front door (wild azaleas and dogwoods were incredible), kayaking all over the 2.8 mile perimeter lake, seeing geese, beaver, fish...just wish we had had time for tennis and swimming...

Aaaaaaahh!!!!

  • 5 of 5

I arrived in a tizzy, totally stressed out and left there totally at peace with the world! It was a fantastic get away with spectacular scenery, hiking trails, friendly neighbors, and beautiful facilities. I would definitely recommend it for anyone of any age for any occasion. I hope to return there sometime.

Perfection

  • 5 of 5

The most relaxing and welcoming home overlooking the - hands down - most beautiful view I have ever seen. No matter the weather, the view is glorious. The bedrooms are lovely, private and feel just like home. The great room and kitchen are, somehow, cozy and grand at the same time. One of the neatest things was reading the heartfelt notes and sincere messages of thanks of previous guests in the little guest book near the dining table. It was obvious that we weren't the only ones who made wonderful memories there.
