Casa Petirrojos ( Valencia Tourist Registration number VT-446565-A Cat E) is a light, airy, spacious high quality townhouse, south facing, on a secure gated community. ideally located between the beautiful, sandy beach and restaurants of the Arenal and the port of Javea. From June to the end of September there are lovely little beach bars within a few minutes walk. The property comprises a master bedroom on the top floor with king sized bed, en-suite shower room, aircon. and juliette balcony overlooking the gardens and pool. The middle floor has a double bedroom with shaded private terrace, twin bedroom overlooking the gardens with a/c and a shared family bathroom with shower and twin hand basins. The ground floor has a double bedroom with full bathroom, fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, dining area with feature fireplace and a large spacious lounge equipped with Freesat TV, Spanish TDT digital television, DVD player and wireless internet. All bedrooms have built in wardrobes. All rooms have remote controlled fans. There is gas fired underfloor central heating throughout. Patio doors lead from the lounge onto a covered terrace with steps leading down to a further outdoor hedged and gated terrace with table and chairs for alfresco dining. The terrace looks out onto the landscaped gardens and the two swimming pools. Four sunbeds are also available for sunbathing by the pool in the pretty gardens.

Apart from the, mostly, beautiful weather, beaches and sea there is such a huge variety of things to see and do in the area from experiencing the local fiestas and festivals of Javea, of which there are many throughout the year, to the full on intensity of the theme parks and clubs in Benidorm, the lovely old culture of the cities of Alicante and Valencia and the beautiful countryside in the mountains behind Javea with the mountain town of Guadalest, the caves at Benidoleig and the waterfalls at the Fuente S'algar. We have been coming to Javea for over twenty years and have never been bored!!
What makes this House unique
Casa Petirrojos is located in one of the Altamar gated communities. These are located in one of the nicest and quietest areas of the Arenal. The townhouse is one of the largest on the community and only one of three that has a south facing aspect over the beautiful communal gardens and swimming pool. The property catches the sun all day long but, if things get too hot, there is a lovely cool terrace to escape to on the other side of the property. The ground floor terrace leads out onto the secure garden area with two swimming pools, one a good pool for adults to swim in and the other one perfect for children to paddle in. Both pools can easily be viewed from the top terrace so you have peace of mind when the children are playing

Javea is a very family friendly location, great for families with teenagers, location of house was perfect for both the port and Arenal beach.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spacious townhouse. The home is well maintained and is close to Arenal Beach and not too far from Javea Old town & harbour.
We would have given five stars if basic cleaning materials had been left from previous renters and not removed. It seemed most unusual that there was not even a single bin bag to put in the bin, considering that there was a note on top that a bin bag must be used or remains of any other dish cleaning items.
Thank you for the positive and constructive review. Sorry about the cleaning materials. Our cleaner is very enthusiastic and is extremely thorough with her cleaning. However, she should have left a basic pack of some washing liquid, scouring pads and bin liners. We apologise for the oversight and will check that this is done for future rentals.

A lovely house in a great location - only a short walk to the Arenal for the beach and restaurants - and on a very nice community. Plenty of room for everyone to spend time chilling together - or apart! Jenna was lovely and helpful. Much enjoyed by us all, thank you.

Excellent location but lacking in basics
What a fantastic location. Excellent, child friendly secure development with superb access to the pool. Easy access to the lovely Arenal Beach, and walkable to the characterful port. The old town is stunningly kept with restaurants and cafes for everyone. Javea was a huge hit for us and we will certainly return. Don't go if you want to be spoken to in English everywhere you go - we thoroughly enjoyed hearing very few English accents, and feeling like we really were in real Spain.
The main reason after such great reviews on the development and Javea itself for not giving 5 stars is we felt that the house was showing signs of being 'tired', and certainly bathrooms in need of modernisation, and that the kitchen was seriously under-equipped if you wanted to cook in (seems we are the first to do so). Also, there was absolutely nothing left from previous renters, not even salt and pepper or washing up liquid. We had to purchase a significant amount of basics all of which we requested to be left for the next arrivals.
That said, we would rent again - although see 2018 summer is already booked up! I should note that the managing agent was very helpful when needed (arrived to only 4 wine glasses!!) and Geoff was extremely helpful pre our arrival.

Sorry about the initial problem with the wine glasses which was speedily resolved by Jenna Regarding the kitchen utensils the house is equipped pretty much the same as most other rental properties in the area and this has never previously been an issue. I would be most grateful if you could separately email me a list of items that you feel should be included and we can then see what we can do over the winter to improve for next season. The reason why it appears that the kitchen has not been used for cooking is that both the oven and hob are new this season and we have also recently replaced the fridge/freezer and installed the washing machine. Regarding the bathrooms, these rooms get the most wear and tear in the house. The top bathroom was refitted a few years ago. The other bathrooms are in good condition although a little tired, (chipped bath enamel etc) . The problem is that completely refitting the bathrooms including the tiling would cost around £6-£10 k a go which is prohibitively expensive for us . We will look at "freshening up" the bathrooms over the winter when we undertake the annual maintenance checks on the property. Cleaning comments also noted. The cleaner is instructed to completely clean the house from top to bottom for handover. We will ask her if she can leave some items behind in future! Everything we could have hoped for
Just back from a weeks stay with family. The property is beautiful and ideally located just a 10 min walk from beach and restaurants at arenal beach.

Casa Petirrojos is located 7 minutes walk from the Arenal sandy beach, 15 minutes walk to the port and 2 minutes walk to the sea front. There are good, flat cycle paths. There is a diving centre within 5 minutes walk, two good tennis clubs within 15 minutes walk and a number of golf courses within 15 minutes drive. The Arenal has boat rental, paddle boarding, Pedalos and a number of good restaurants available. Towards the port is Jet Ski and windsurfing rental. Good supermarkets are available within 5 minutes drive or 15 minutes walk. Buses are available from the seafront to the port and the old town of Javea.
