By far one of the best value holiday rental options in Almyrida, Villa Anastasia is a conveniently located three bedroom bi-level house that sits just 400 meters from the sandy sun-drenched shores of the jeweled Aegean Sea. Set in a quiet and nicely landscaped residential community with two swimming pools, Almyrida’s friendly beachside tavernas, shops, and aquatic activities are all just a hop skip and jump from the detached home’s front door.
Simply yet comfortably furnished, this clean, neat, and cost-effective property is fully kitted with modern amenities that include dishwasher, flat screen TV, free WIFI internet access (up to 1GB in downloads), and washing machine. Luminous rays of ubiquitous sunshine filter through abundant windows and glass paned doors, with a choice of open-air and covered terraces -- some of which boast imposing mountain views – bordering both levels. In addition to providing safe havens for the children to play, these outdoor living spaces are great for an evening barbecue or to take a relaxing break within the welcome embrace of a whispering sea breeze.
The larger of the two swimming pools sits just steps from the house and, like its counterpart around the corner, is pleasingly embroidered by grand date palm trees and a colorful mélange of blooming oleander. Both pools contain shallow child-friendly areas and a deeper end for the adults and teenagers – perfect for a cooling early morning dip, a lazy afternoon with a good book, or a refreshing reprieve after an excursion through Crete’s scenic interior.
Villa Anastasia is also within easy walking distance through picturesque country lanes to a handful of recommended dining spots in the quaint village of Plaka. Long stretches of beach and a slew of restaurants and shopping options can additionally be found just a quick drive or taxi ride away in the nearby beach village of Kalives. To enhance your holiday experience, we can also arrange island tours, rental cars, hiking or boating expeditions.

Villa Anastasia is exclusively booked by Frankie Miles. Frankie runs Villas Crete Holidays which is a registered Tourist Office, based in Hampshire, England and Almyrida, Crete. Whilst most travel companies cover many different countries and/or areas of Greece and Crete, we at Villas Crete Holidays only work in the North West of Crete and we specialise in the Apokoranas region, just east of the historic Venetian town of Chania. The Apokoronas (including the villages of Almyrida, Kalives, Kokkino Horio, Plaka and Gavalohori) has long been a popular destination for holiday makers seeking a typically Greek seaside resort area that has many amenities, but is far removed from brash tourism. The area is renowned for its sandy beaches, crystal clear turquoise water, stunning views of Souda Bay and The White Mountains, excellent tavernas, and many archaeological sites.
Frankie is very hands-on at Villas Crete Holiday. She has worked with rental villas on Crete for more than 18 years and has written the best selling guide book "Crete on the Road". The book includes detailed directions and information to all the major tourist attractions, as well as many hidden sites. Also in the book is the only existing map of the National Highway showing all of the entrances/exits and distances. Frankie’s unrivalled knowledge, love of the island, and attention to detail is now being fully put to use to guarantee a fantastic holiday for our guests. Before Crete, Frankie lived all over the world. She initially came to Crete for 1 season after 12 hectic years in New York working various jobs including: office manager for the band Simply Red; production assistant to the singer Paul Simon; and booking bands such as Guns N’ Roses for The Limelight nightclub. All of this was no match, however, to the fantastic weather and food, the warmth of the Cretan people, and the unrivalled natural beauty of Crete. When not working, Frankie spends much of her time helping the stray animals on Crete.
Villa Anastasia is an incredibly good value property with the ideal location only 400m from the excellent beaches, shops, and tavernas in Almyrida. With such a short and easy walk to all of the amenities you can go to the beach or shops at any time, and you can go to have a delicious meal and a drink (or two) next to the sea without worrying about driving home.
Almyrida is such a safe and family friendly village, that parents can relax at Villa Anastasia knowing that their teenagers and older children can go into the village on their own to have fun without a problem. Parents of younger children will also have peace of mind knowing that both of the pools have separate shallow children's areas.
For travellers on a budget, Villa Anastasia is ideal. You do not have to rent a car when staying here, though we do recommend it if you want to see some of Crete's incredible sights and attractions.
Villas Crete Holidays truly are the Apokoronas Specialists as unlike other offices, 3 of the 4 members of our expert team live and work here all year round which enables us to always have completely up-to-date information about the villas, local facilities, and tourist attractions. We can help you with all aspects of your holiday including good value, reliable car hire, airport transfers, local information about shops, beaches, tavernas etc, detailed driving directions or walking directions for many routes. We can also arrange private boat hire, private boat trips, private sight-seeing flights, horse riding, water-skiing, big game fishing, guided walking, and guided coach excursions. Our office staff speak English, Greek, and a little French, and have a vast list of local contacts, and our representative in resort also speaks some Italian.
Both the company itself, and Frankie's guide book have been featured and recommended in articles in major British newspapers including the Sunday Mail and the Sunday Telegraph, as well as smaller publications such as Greece Magazine.
Most importantly, because we handle many villas, in the unlikely event that there is an unforeseen problem at your villa, we can usually offer you an alternative villa (although this cannot be guaranteed in high season).
We have many years experience working in tourism on Crete, and most importantly this experience is specifically related to villa rentals, which needs a very different area of expertise to other types of tourism such as walking holidays, or package holidays for the masses. We use all of our knowledge and local contacts to ensure that your holiday goes off smoothly from start to finish, from first booking the villa that is most suitable for you, to your arrival back home. When you are in resort, we are available during office hours for information, and 24 hours a day should you need medical assistance, yet we remain unobtrusive.
The heart of the village of Almyrida is only 400m from Villa Anastasia, and is built around a pretty crescent shaped sandy beach, with a small fishing harbour at the eastern end. The beach is very shallow and safe, which is good news if you have children or are not a strong swimmer. Lining the beach are 11 tavernas, a pizzeria/pasta restaurant, 6 cafés, 2 bars, 2 bakeries, 4 mini-markets, 7 gift shops, 1 Italian ice cream shop, a pharmacy, a butcher, a fruit and vegetable shop with a deli counter, an off license/liquor shop, 1 kiosk, a nail spa, a body wellness spa, and 3 real estate offices. Also in Almyrida there is a children's activity/play centre with babysitting, a scuba diving centre, a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers and catamarans, a cafe/ arcade with pool tables and games machines, and Villas Crete Holidays for tourist information, boat trips, private boat rental, horse riding, water-skiing, big game fishing, private sightseeing flights in a light airplane, and guided walking tours and coach excursions. A few minutes by car from Villa Anastasia, there are a huge variety of archaeological sites and traditional villages with wonderful tavernas. There is also an interesting selection of small craft centres and museums, including glass blowing in Kokkino Horio, and the lace makers and folklore museum in Gavalohori. For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 35 minutes away by car.
