Spacious rooms and well equipped
We spent a week in Barcelona and had an amazing time. The apartment is just north of the Sagrada Familia and well located for the Metro. The two bedrooms on to the pedestrian street have comfortable beds but the sofa bed in the sitting room is probably only suitable if you are using it for 2 or 3 nights it is quite uncomfortable for an adult . The two shower rooms are spacious and work well and the kitchen is well equipped for simple cooking. Ingrid is an excellent communicator and gave us much valuable advice. The main negatives are that you can hear the Metro regularily day and night and the apartment does allow smokers, so the whole apartment smelt strongly of smoke when we first arrived.
Thank you Caroline,
I was surprise to read that the apartment smell smoke because it's not allowed to smoke in the apartment. As the apartment has a private garden, the smokers can smoke outside...sorry if something bother you.
Hope to see you again in Barcelona :)
Nicely located and spacious apartment with very responsive host
We very much enjoyed our stay at Ingrid’s apartment. She was very helpful in getting us taxis to and from the airport and her colleague was waiting upon our arrival. Once there, we found the apartment to have plenty of room for four adults with ample storage in the bedrooms and having newly updated bathrooms. The location proved very convenient for our stay, being a few blocks from the Sagrada Familia and having plenty of food/shopping options right out the front door. Being on a pedestrian plaza the evening noise was noticeable at times but never to the point of being irritating. The weeknight sounds did quiet down much earlier than the weekend nights. The pluses would be proximity to Sagrada and Metro stations while the minuses would be we had a sense of unpreparedness upon our arrival as there was still laundry on the clotheslines and the closeness to the Metro station that rumbled by every few minutes (its not so pronounced that it’d affect my rating of the apartment but it is noticeable at times). Overall, I’d recommend Ingrid’s apartment as the location on the tree lined pedestrian restaurant/shops plaza is extremely charming and it is very easy to get to many of Barcelona’s sights.
Fantastic stay with family
Ingrid’s flat is located in the perfect location for just about everything. We had a wonderful stay with my husband, 1yr old son (she provided a crib for him), and my parents. It was very hot while we were there but the fans provided in each room did the job to keep cool. All your basic tools and amenities are provided in the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry area. I did find some broken glass on the kitchen floor, I’m assuming from previous renters, which I was a little disappointed about since my son is walking around barefoot, but a broom and mop were easily available for me to just clean up any shards that may have been left behind by the cleaning crew. Everything went smoothly and if I’m ever back in Barcelona I would, without a doubt, book Ingrid’s flat again.
Had a great time in Barcelona. The apartment is in a great location, just walk out the front door to many good restaurants and cafes. Easy walk to the Sagrada Familia and metro. It was hot when we were there and only had fans, but it was cool in the evenings so spent a lot of time out front at the restaurants.
Perfect stay in Barcelona!
Ingrid's flat in Barcelona is the perfect mixture of location and amenities. I traveled to Barcelona with 2 friends and the apartment could not have suited our needs any better. It is spacious, clean, beautiful and has a private outdoor space. The bathrooms and bedrooms are very modern and large and the location of the apartment is amazing. Located on Ave. Gaudi just a short walk from the metro and Sagrada Familia, it really is the perfect way to experience Barcelona. Ingrid is a lovely and responsive host as well, always communicative and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay here again the next time I travel to Barcelona!
Great apartment in a can’t-be-beat location
This large apartment accommodated 5 adults very comfortably. It’s perfectly located near Sagrada Familia with easy access to everything. We had a terrific time and Ingrid was very helpful and responsive.
The residential streets surrounding Antoni Gaudí's unfinished masterpiece are very tranquil - a surprising contrast With The outrageously daring Gothic basilica from the area Takes STI Which name. The area around the basilica is typical of the wider L'Eixample district; long, broad streets laid out in a grid pattern.
In This popular district you'll find lots of typical Catalan tapas bars, cafes and souvenir shops. Away from the excessively touristy areas, you will Also have plenty of contact with the locals. Its location, relative serenity and falta de traffic During the night all help make it a good choice if you're after a peaceful stay in the city.
Laid out on the map, the district of Sagrada Família is Almost a perfect square, with Avinguda Diagonal, Carrer del Dos de Maig and Carrer de Napols making up three of Its four sides. Casting a shadow over the whole area, there's no Avoiding the fact That the basilica of the Sagrada Familia is the main reference point for you to navigate yourself around. Otherwise, Carrer D'Arago and Carrer de Padilla are the main thoroughfares-through the area.
One of the adjacent districts is L'Eixample Dreta - home to the city's Most prestigious shopping street, the Passeig de Gràcia, and the Modernist masterpieces La Pedrera and Casa Batllo. Other regions are NEIGHBOURING Clot, With Its Local colorful food markets, and the charming and fashionable Gràcia.
Know your neighbors:
The district of Sagrada Família is a world away from the bustling streets of the old town,: such as the Gothic quarter, the Raval and Born. It's a pretty safe part of the City with peaceful streets at night and a low level of crime. Relativamente Being a quiet neighborhood, the vast majority of Its population are of the older generation or are professionals. There is not a large student population and young families Tend to live elsewhere. Nor is there good role strong ethnic or international Presence; Catalan people Tend to be locals and you will not hear the vast array of languages you would in other parts of the city.
There's a distinct dearth of shops in the Sagrada Família Neighbourhood. You will not find the clothes boutique stores or trinket shops That are so common in the center. That Said, the famous shopping boulevard Passeig de Gràcia is just a 15-minute walk away, and is home to the likes of Zara, Mango, Prada, El Corte Inglés and Camper.
, Although not the fashion center of Barcelona, Sagrada Família the district does boast a vast array of delicatessens, from chocolatiers to butchers. On Avinguda Gaudi there's a very temping sweet shop called Bomboneria That entices you in just by ITS smell delicious and colorful display. Try the 'Catanies' Which are a traditional Catalan delicacy of roasted and caramelised almonds covered in chocolate.
The area Also has an indoor market to rival the Boqueria, and without a tourist in sight. It's been open since 1944 and houses various established butchers, fishmongers and fresh fruit and veg stalls. Ideal for picking up a few bits and bobs on a Saturday morning to make a picnic lunch or trying out a few tapas place in the stand-up bars.
Transport links are great in esta Neighbourhood and reaching the city center from here is simple. There's a metro station right in front of the basilica and one Further uptown (Hospital de Sant Pau). You can be at Plaça Universitat in 10 minutes and on the Ramblas in 20. Getting around on foot también está fairly straightforward as relativamente the neighborhood is a small one. You'll never be far from a decent cafe or restaurants at it's only 15 minutes to Passeig de Gràcia and Its selection of snazzy shops.
Another must-see if you're staying in esta Neighbourhood is the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau - a Modernist hospital designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner That Has earned Certainly ITS place next to the Sagrada Família. Bring a camera to take snaps of Its whimsical pavilions, towers and turrets adorned With sculptures, mosaics, stained glass and ironwork.
The Avinguda de Gaudí is a great little spot to grab a bite to eat THROUGHOUT the day. Meandering down this semi-pedestrianized avenue is a pleasure and you're spoiled for choice in terms of eateries. There are two little tapas restaurants That are particularly cozy and inviting - Tapas Gaudí and La Llesca. Another tempting option, albeit not Typically Spanish, is a Lebanese restaurant called Aladdin. It Serves a delectable selection Including hummus and tagines, with a 3-course lunch menu for a very reasonable 10 euros.
