Situated in the oldest part of Cotos De Monterrey, just 30 min from the airport and Madrid's centre, this lovely detached house is surrounded by mature trees and has fine views of the mountains. The garden extends to 1000 m², is grassed, landscaped with flowers and shrubs and is well maintained. There is a swimming pool 9 x 4.5 metres, with complete privacy. Surrounded by teak decking, it is the perfect place to enjoy the warm summer evenings that are guaranteed in the Madrid climate. In winter, the ski resorts of Navacerrada and Valdesqui are just 46 km away. Within reach for day trips: Toledo, Aranzuez, Segovia, San Lorenzo de El Escorial and Manzanares Del Real.

The summer period is usually fully booked by the end of January each year.

230 m² over two floors. The house has a fully-equipped kitchen, three double bedrooms, large lounge with garden & mountain views, Two bathrooms and separate WC. Location: In the attractive ‘urbanisation’ of Cotos De Monterrey, near the village of Venturada, on the A1 Burgos road north out of Madrid city centre. The centre of the city is about a half an hour's drive, with its well-known museums, shopping and night-life. To the west, the old town of Manzanares Del Real is about 25 minutes away. The regional park, nature reserve and mountain ranges of La Pedriza can be found on the edge of the town, with extensive climbing and walking activities over a large expanse of unspoilt mountain countryside. In winter, the ski stations of Navacerrada and Valdesqui are around 50 minutes by car. Only a short distance away is the old village of Patones, a popular weekend destination for Madrileños, with its concentration of fine restaurants and ancient preserved buildings.

The pool is normally open from the beginning of June to mid- September. Weather dependent.

Bedroom 2: Double, 4.2 metres x 2.89 metres, extending to 4.25 metres in ‘L’ shape. Built- in wardrobes with oak doors. En suite Bathroom: 3.1 metres x 1.35 metres, bath with shower, bidet.

Living room: 8.8 metres x 4.75 metres. Triple aspect, views over gardens, pool and sierra. Wood- burning stove. UK satellite TV. French doors to upper patio (4m x 5m, slate).

Upper hall: 3.1 metres x 1.05 metres.

Bedroom 3: 4.73 metres x 3.15 metres. Additional single bed.

Excursions: Segovia

Ancient city and World Heritage Site, Segovia is to the north-west of Madrid, beyond the Sierra De Guadarrama.

Royal Palace of la Granja de San Ildefonso

Just a short distance from Segovia, in the hills next to the Sierra, is La Granja, the former summer residence of the Royal Family. Modelled on Versailles, the house and grounds are laid out in an idyllic setting beneath the mountains, which provide the water for the numerous beautiful, gravity-fed fountains. A perfect location for a day trip and picnic.


Also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Todelo has a rich variety of ancient and interesting places to visit. The most famous artist born here was 'El Greco', many of whose paintings were painted in and around the city.


Apparently named after the Basque word for hawthorn, Aranjuez is just outside Madrid's southern city limits. The Concertio De Aranjuez, by Rodrigo, made Aranjuez famous the world over.

Fantastic house/villa in wonderful area with mountain views. All mod cons,did not need anything. Comfortable,, cosy and ideal location in unspoiled area, yet minutes away from roads leading to great village locations,spectacular ,scenery wherever we went. Only 30 mins from Madrid centre, and other areas. Pool was essential as it was very hot 37 deg (sept ) we went out each day to sightsee then back for afternoon in pool. Added extra was sat TV with English channels. Loved it. No faults whatsoever . Thank you Michael Sheila Clarke Birmingham UK.

Beautiful villa in wonderful surroundings

Spent a fantastic 5 days in this wonderful villa.So comfortable and relaxing with everything you need for a perfect holiday.Really enjoyed chilling out by the pool surrounded by the beautiful mature gardens.Kitchen is well equipped and enjoyed making the most of the local produce and eating al fresco in the cool of the evening.

Most definitely met our expectations with the villa being immaculately clean and well presented on our arrival.

The owners provided very detailed and helpful information about the villa and surrounding area which we found really helpful.

Such an easy journey to and from the airport -a truly stress free break.Already planning when we would be able to sneak another !

When can I come again!

One of the most magical weekends I have had staying in this glorious house with stunning panoramic views over the mountains and surrounding hills. Private and secluded with a beautiful peaceful garden. Lovely pool and handcrafted decking to soak up the sun reading a book with a glass of wine the sound of cicadas all around. Heavenly!

The interior of this house has been so well designed with a large open airy feel to it. What struck me was the incredible amount of light flooding in from all around the house. The living room with long comfy sofas and a wood burning stove to cosy up to in the evenings. The bedrooms are spacious beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. The kitchen too well kitted out with a view to die for.

The owners are extremely helpful and responsive with advice and recommendations of places to visit in the surrounding area. There is a huge wealth of hill top villages and hide away restaurants and bars. Historical towns with palaces cathedrals and castles to visit. Take a sledge or ski down a slope in the stunning Sierra just a few minutes away or a walk and picnic in this spectacular scenery. To top it all you have Madrid just a stones throw away!

I would highly recommend this house for a perfect place to stay and live.

I really look forward to my next visit.

Mooie woning met wel wat kanttekeningen.

Opmerking vooraf: ons verblijf was eind April 2017. Dat betekende dat er beperkingen waren t.a.v. het zwembad.

De woning is ruim en zag er netjes uit en was goed onderhouden.

Wij hebben de woning voor 7 personen gehuurd. Dat was geen probleem. Er zou een bed worden bijgeplaatst. Dat bed met matras was er wel maar verder niets, geen dekens e.d. Voor 7 personen (5 bedden) waren er 3 dekbedden.

Ook waren er 7 badlakens voor de hele week en geen handdoeken, theedoeken, vaatdoeken e.d. Het koffiezet apparaat is geschikt voor één kopje. Samen koffiedrinken is niet mogelijk omdat als het laatste kopje klaar is het eerste er al ca 11 minuten staat. Dus koud!

Het buitengebeuren was m.i. dit jaar nog niet onderhanden genomen.Er stond smerig groen water in het zwembad. Niet om aan te zien. Het gras was dus ook nog niet gemaaid. Verder waren er voor 7 personen 4 stoeltjes buiten.

Verder nog een advies: het T.V. signaal naar het beeldscherm valt af en toe weg. De aansluiting in het scherm is zeer kritisch.

Ik hoop dat de eigenaar iets meer druk uitoefent op beheerder want wij hadden van het buitengebeuren toch iets meer verwacht, waarbij nogmaals opgemerkt dat het ons bekend was dat het gebruik van o.a het zwembad dubieus was.

La descripción de la casa es bastante fiel a la realidad.

En general estaba todo bastante limpio, aunque tengo que decir que no usamos los edredones nórdicos que estaban en los armarios porque tenían bastantes manchas, no dudo que estuvieran limpios y que fueran manchas que no salen pero preferimos usar las mantas y colchas en su lugar por este motivo.

El trato con Michael correcto, es de agradecer la confianza que ha tenido con nosotros.

No tuvimos mucho tiempo para conocer el entorno porque fuimos por muy pocos días pero puedo decir que la urbanización es muy grande y bonita. Hay un supermercado que abre todos los días incluso festivos muy cerca, también hay un bar al lado del supermercado.

En general recomendaría la casa, la única pega que saco son los horarios de entrada y salida, me parece muy tarde que la hora de entrada sean 16:00 h porque te parte el día, y las 11:00 h como hora de salida me pareció temprano, ya que lo habitual es a las 12:00 h hora de entrada y salida, intenté negociar con Michael otras horas pero me dijo que no podía ser. Solemos ir a bastates casas rurales y es la primera vez que nos encontramos con esta situación, ya que a pesar de que los propietarios tienen fijados unos horarios siempre te facilitan una flexibilidad de varias horas de margen. Esta sería la única sugerencia de mejora que podría hacer.

This beautiful detached villa with pool is in Cotos De Monterrey, about 30 minutes drive from the centre of Madrid, a community of some 200 houses, almost all detached villas with plots between 1000 and 3000 m². It was the first weekend and summer community built outside Madrid's centre, chosen for its position on top of a hill with cooling breezes, next to a Moorish ancient monument.

Within easy reach of Madrid's airport at Barajas, (25-30 min), Cotos De Monterrey is ideally situated for day trips to Toledo, Segovia, El Escorial, Manazanres Del Real, Navacerrada, La Pinilla, Aranzuez, Avila and Segovia, (including La Granja), being just off the A1 to Burgos (but out of earshot).

You can also visit the city centre easily, to enjoy Madrid's fine bars and restaurants and museums such as The Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen collection.

Activities nearby include mountain walking and climbing at La Pedriza, sailing & windsurfing at El Atazar. bird watching, and skiing in the winter months at Navacerrada and Valdesqui.

The hugely interesting ancient village of Upper Patones is about 25 minutes away, where a large number of restaurants and well-preserved historic buildings can be found.

Shopaholics can visit one of Europe's largest shopping centres, Plaza Norte 2 and Megapark, near San Sebastian De Los Reyes.

The Cotos De Monterrey estate has 24 hour manned security and entry cameras. There are two large community swimming pools, paddle tennis and tennis courts, basketball, green areas and children’s play areas. In the centre of the estate are a supermarket, a church, a restaurant, a pharmacy, a community centre and a new municipal sports centre. There is little traffic and it passes slowly. At weekends and during the summer, many Madrileños come from the capital for some fresh air and rest.
