About Magnus Sweger
I was born and grew up in Stockholm, Sweden. I am currently working as a public school educator for the NYC Board of Ed. where I teach 2nd and 3rd grade. My wife Tami teaches preschool and out daughter Emma Ray is finishing up 7th grade. My daughter and I commute to the city together. I teach in the West Village and Emma attends school by Union Square. Since we are teachers we like to travel in the summertime.

Why Magnus Sweger chose Brooklyn
It's been my pleasure to give this home a comfortable mid century modern vibe complemented with Scandinavian design. It has an open and decluttered feel. Both the kitchen and bathroom have been updated with: new lights, hardware, a new stove, and a cabinet- whiteout destroying what was already there such as the old tiles in the bathroom and the midcentury laminate counter top in the kitchen. Hence, the spirit and feel of the old house remains.
What makes this House unique
The most unique feature of this property is our backyard garden. Although completely covered in concrete when we first bought it, my wife and I saw the potential to fulfill a life long dream of ours - the backyard garden. So with time, sections of concrete has been removed and planter beds have gone in. We now have thriving fruit trees including paw paws, berry bushes, a kiwi vine, a grape arbor and a bamboo grove to mention a few high lights. Our garden has been designed using a blend of permaculture techniques (care for the earth) along with a zen esthetic. We believe this to be city living at its best.

Bay Ridge is in a part of Brooklyn that maintains its authenticity. It has been spared gentrification. It close to the water front, and the ocean so it has a fresh quality about it. The air feels cleaner than in other parts of the city. It is also a diverse community with many different ethnic groups living in close proximity to one another. Originally, this was a Scandinavian holdout with norwegians in particular. Now there has been a great influx of Chinese, muslim, polish and Italian immigrants as well. And a result the food options are numerous and varied. Furthermore, you have the option of home delivery.
