Photos and Description of this 4 bedroom holiday villa in Dénia - Cuesta de la Reina

For up to 8 people, 4 air-conditioned double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 16mx7m pool

One of the few villas to be situated within the Montgo Natural Park it is located on private road in the pine forest on the lower slopes of the Montgo Mountain. It offers superb mountain and countryside views from multiple terraced areas together with an exceptionally large swimming pool and extensive gardens which merge into the beautiful natural park. This is a perfect villa for large families or groups and provides a massive 400m2 of accommodation on two self contained floors each having its own entrance for extra privacy and flexibility. For walkers, some of the Montgo footpaths start immediately outside the villa, for golfers the La Sella complex is 1km away and the towns of Denia and Javea are both only 15mins away with their historic buildings, restaurants, shops and wonderful beaches.

Our property manager is based in the pretty village of Jesus Pobre 1km away and is on hand to assist you with anything you require during your stay. Jesus Pobre also has a bank, small supermarket, bakery, pharmacy and four bar/restaurants. The Sunday farmers market in the village is famous for local produce, the villagers set up food stalls to sell their home made produce ranging through bread, sweet and savoury pastries, preserves and wine. There are picnic tables and music, it is a wonderful place to eat and soak up the local atmosphere.

Floor plans are included in the photo montage to give you a full picture of the accommodation provided. This is a 2 storey villa of approx 400 m2 set in a 3000 m2 garden.

The entrance courtyard has parking for over 6 cars and provides access to the first floor

Ornate glazed wrought iron doors open into the entrance hall with high exposed beam ceiling leading into the huge lounge area (8.4m x 7.5m) with traditional exposed timber arched ceiling. There is a mix of quality modern and antique furniture creating a Moorish feel.

There is a 40inch HD TV (unfortunately not very Moorish) with the normal Freesat UK channels including BBC, ITV and Sky News etc .The TV has the usual range of connections for games consoles, PC’s etc.

WiFi internet is available

The lounge leads into the traditionally furnished dining room with seating for 8 around the fine mahogany dining table ideal for formal dining.

The modern fully equipped kitchen has granite work surfaces and incorporates a built-in oven and grill, gas hob with electric griddle, large larder fridge and large matching freezer. There is a dishwasher, coffee machine and microwave with combination grill.

All the necessary cooking pots, pans and utensils are provided together with crockery, cutlery, wine glasses, wine coolers etc

The utility room is adjacent to the kitchen and includes a sink and washing machine with extensive work surfaces and cupboard space.

The two air-conditioned bedrooms and the bathrooms at this level are found through an archway from the lounge

Bedroom 1 has a super king size bed with wrought iron bed frame and includes a large dressing area and extensive built-in wardrobes and cupboard space. There is an en-suite bathroom with walk in power shower incorporating body jets.

Bedroom 2 has twin beds which can be linked to form a super king sized double if required. The bedroom has built in wardrobes with shelf space.

Bathroom 2 incorporates a bath with an over bath power shower.

There are 3 terrace areas at this level

The Dining Terrace is reached from the dining room and naya and is furnished with a feature tiled dining table and benches that seat 8 comfortably. There is also a gas BBQ. The terrace has views down onto the swimming pool and surrounding terraces and wonderful views across the garden and down the valley towards Denia. If you like spectacular sunsets then this is the place to see them.

The Montgo terrace is a tranquil oasis reached from the entrance hall. It is a small private peaceful area with a fine view of Montgo mountain where you can relax on the loungers or in the hammock whilst you immerse yourself in your holiday reading.

The Naya has an exposed beam ceiling and was traditionally a covered external area. Many Spaniards have now glazed these areas and this is the case here. The naya links the lounge, dining room, dining terrace and naya terrace and is furnished with a comfortable settee and armchairs.

The Naya terrace outside the lounge and naya has casual seating for 8 and is perfect for that relaxing drink before dinner and the time to catch up with everybody’s news. The steps from this terrace lead down to the swimming pool and the pool level accommodation.

The pool level accommodation has its own entrance door and comprises 2 double bedrooms each with built-in wardrobes and air-conditioning and both have views over the garden.

Bedroom 1 has a large king size bed with wrought iron bed frame.

Bedroom 2 has twin beds which can be linked to form a super king size double if required.

The modern bathroom has WC, bidet, basin, bath and separate power shower incorporating body jets.

The accommodation includes an open plan kitchen, lounge and dining area with views of the garden and pool.

The kitchen incorporates a refrigerator, gas hob, toaster and combination microwave/grill. It is ideal for breakfast or light lunch preparation.

The dining area has a tiled cane dining table and chairs and seats 4 comfortably

There are settee’s and coffee tables in the lounge area.

The freeform swimming pool is approximately 16m x 7m so if you want to swim instead of just splashing about then you can. There are roman steps at the shallow end which unusually extends along the full side length for a 1m wide strip making it more versatile for younger children or those who just want to cool down. There are a range of loungers, seats, tables and sun shades provided. Plastic glasses etc are also provided for use around the pool.

The gardens are well established and incorporate many species of trees and cactus including olive, almond, lemon, pomegranate, passion fruit and fig trees. Paths weave around the garden creating the impression that the garden is very much a part of the beautiful Montgo Natural Park.

The World Health Organisation has declared that this area has an ‘almost perfect’ climate and is one of the healthiest places in the world to live. When you are sitting in this garden listening to the birds singing you realize that they are right.

About John & Jennifer

About John & Jennifer

With no previous knowledge of the area and having done no research whatsoever we rented a villa in Javea for what we thought was going to be a simple relaxing break with our young family. We were going to lie around whilst the kids splashed in the pool. On a rare showery day we decided to take a drive. We were on the road from Javea to Denia and according to our map we were near the junction for Jesus Pobre when we saw a ‘Se Vende/For Sale’ sign. Let’s take a look, ‘we aren’t in a rush to do anything else’ we said. That was over 30 years ago, we knew then that we had found something special and we haven’t changed our minds since. In those 30 years we have seen the area develop but never lose its character. We have built relationships with the local people and it has become an important part of our lives and our children’s lives. We are sure that if you come to stay you will also come to understand how special this place is.

Why John & Jennifer chose Javea, Moraira and Denia Area

The villa is perfect for people of all ages and interests and its layout provides great flexibility. We have found the pool level accommodation particularly useful. Friends visiting with young children have appreciated being able to deal with their children's excited early starts without worrying about disturbing the rest of the house and when we have had friends staying with teenagers the same as ours its the kids who enjoyed staying downstairs free from 'interference' from their parents. There is no doubt that it is great to be together but it is also nice to have that privacy and this villa provides both.

beautiful villa!

  • 4 of 5

This is a beautiful villa in beautiful surroundings. It is a lovely spacious and well equipped property. The pool is a great size with plenty of room to play and a large enough shallow area for the children to play in. There are many places to sit, eat and drink. We spent many lovely evenings out on the veranda. Our advice would be to take ample mosquito repellent and reapply frequently. The beaches nearby are wide and sandy and take about 15 minutes to get to by car. Jesus Pobre is quiet and felt almost deserted until the Sunday evening market which is well worth a visit. This villa was perfect for our two families and we would recommend to anyone.

Delightful villa in tranquil setting

  • 4 of 5

The villa was just as described, very spacious, tastefully furnished, well equipped, very clean and well maintained, apart from the tap in the master ensuite, which had a leaky top! The setting was very peaceful and relaxing and it was great to have a pool of a decent size. We had an excellent two weeks, which followed several communications with the owners who always responded promptly and helpfully. A car is most definitely needed in order to visit Denia, and Javea to try out the many excellent restaurants and we also drove to Valencia, which were all worthwhile visits. Jesus Pobre is very small, but has a tiny basic shop and pharmacist, as well as a few bars and restaurants. I would highly recommend this villa to my friends and family, if they were looking for a quiet holiday.

Owner's Response: Thank you Debbie for your review we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Like yourselves we have had a number of guests say how nice it is to stay in a peaceful, relaxing setting and yet still be only 15 mins by car from the lively holiday towns of Javea and Denia with all their facilities and attractions – the best of both worlds.

A great holiday in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

An outstanding villa which exceeded all our expectations. Everywhere we turned brought a new experience, there was shade, there was sun, there was comfort and everything to fit our needs to. We were lucky that it was fiesta time in the village, the local people were so welcoming and the restaurants provided us with good food. We enjoyed a visit to watch the fish being landed at Javea port and then we purchased some for the barbecue that night. Another enjoyable visit was to the Cherry Orchards where again we bought trays of cherries which were very quickly consumed they were delicious.

Altogether we could not fault our holiday at your villa, thank you Jennifer and John for helping to contribute to our absolutely wonderful holiday.

Owner's Response: We are really pleased that you and your friends enjoyed your stay. We get guests from many countries and various age groups and one of the best things about having guests stay is that they often discover memorable and appealing things about the area that are new to us, for example, in over 30 years we have never visited the cherry orchards, we are going to have to add it to our list. Many thanks for the review it is very much appreciated.

Stunning villa in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

This property was as described and more. Lovely large pool.

Very comfortable, both inside and out. Plenty of different areas for sun or shade.

Walking the trails of the Montgo mountain was great. Evening walks and meals in Denia. And a trip to Aqualandia waterpark.

A very beautiful villa

  • 5 of 5

We really liked this villa - it is located in a very quiet place, large and beautiful, with 2 separate floors and large swimming-pool. There is a very nice view to Montgo and the valley. The villa is equipped with all needed staff.

The villa is very good for 2 families with up to 2 kids in each.

The only one thing that we did not like - there is a a very noisy pump for irrigation system which is activated at about 2am and frightens kids and adults in first nights.

Owner's Response: Thank you Kirill for your review, we are delighted you liked our villa and it's location. We are sorry if the irrigation disturbed you. The irrigation system is a recent addition to the villa and we had thought it would be better to run it at night but we hadn't anticipated that it could disturb guests so your comment has been very helpful and we have had the timer changed so that it now comes on during the day.
