About the property

Chalet with two bedsteads, master bedroom, bathroom and conservatory with exc. on beautiful brook.

Amid growing in between the greenery in the summer or the thick snow in the winter, located in the Ardennes our traditional chalet. Surrounded by water from the wild flowing stream in the garden and the pristine forests, you imagine yourself here in a piece of real nature. The rivers Amblève, Steinbach and large Wolfsbuch can be found within walking distance, where you can swim, kayak or canoe. Close your eyes and hear nothing but water, birds, sometimes crickets and possibly fanning the fire in the fireplace. Yet you find yourself in this mystical place less than fifteen minutes drive from the charming and lively town of Malmedy where, if you like, the crowds can look up. Five minutes driving distance you will find the traditional village of Waimes with its supermarket, fresh bakery and possibly a pharmacy.

As you enter the house, you get what you expect when you think of a fairy-tale cottage in the Ardennes. With a burning stove which are arranged around large cozy sofas and armchairs in the middle. Robust, wooden doors and paneling. Shot hunting on the wall and a vibrant open kitchen. The two bedrooms on the upper floor have been converted into spacious but cozy double and quadruple-bedsteads, each with its own sink. On the ground floor you will find a luxury suite with French doors that give you a great view outside. The chalet has an extra conservatory with views to the outside where you see nothing but forests, water and air. In the house you will find two toilets and a spacious separate shower. The house is surrounded by greenery. On the terrace you can summer good food and you walk in the private garden. The chalet has spacious grounds of approximately 1800 square meters and opens onto an immense park.

Schönes Haus und schöne Umgebung - prima für Hundebesitzer, die keinen Zaun brauchen ;-)

Das Haus ist sehr schön, geräumig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Lage ist idyllisch, naturnah und für Ausflüge strategisch prima!

Die Küche bietet alles, was man für die Zubereitung normaler Gerichte benötigt. Einzig die Küchen-Messer dürften mal wieder geschärft werden ;-) Das Bad ist klein aber sehr schön - für uns fein. Prima sind die 2 Toiletten!

Die Besitzer sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Während unseres Aufenthalts war die Spülmaschine defekt was sehr zügig behoben wurde. Top!

Für uns ganz persönlich war das Bett im Master-Bedroom deutlich zu schmal und mit einer durchgängigen Matratze zu unbequem, sodass einer in ein anderes Zimmer ausweichen musste.

Das optisch sehr schöne Sofa im Wohnzimmer erwies sich als extrem in die Jahre gekommen - es ist arg durchgesessen sodass man sicht nicht wirklich entspannt darauf vor den Fernseher legen konnte. Auch dürfte der Tisch auf der Terrasse etwas aufgebesser werden. Das Holz ist arg angegriffen und splittert an den Kanten stark ab.

Große Bitte an die Eigentümer - die erste Stufe von der Terrasse in den wunderschönen Garten unbedingt reparieren. Das ist lebensgefährlich!

Das Grundstück sowie alle Grunstücke der kleinen Ferienhaus-Anlage sind nicht eingezäunt und man sieht nur schwer wo diese anfangen und aufhören. Anscheinend gab es da auch schon Ärger mit Nachbarn. Besitzer von Hunden mit einem größeren Bewegungsradius haben hier wohl eher keinen Spaß ;-)

Zum Spazieren gehen findet man in unmittelbarer Nähe tolle Wege!

Ein letzter Kritikpunkt an den Eigentümer: es wäre für Gäste bestimmt hilfreich eine Art "Bedienungsanleitung" für das Haus zu erstellen. Wir hatten etwas Mühe heraus zu finden wie die Heizung angeht, wie der WLan-Schlüssel ist und wie der Fernseher zu bedienen ist. Irgendwie geht es dann schon aber es wäre halt so viel einfacher, wenn es kurz erklärt werden würde... ;-) Die WLAN Geschwindigkeit war für uns völlig ausreichend!

Wir hatten eine schöne Woche und werden bestimmt noch mal in die Gegend fahren!

Zeer comfortabele vakantiewoning.

Nog niet eerder hebben we een vakantiewoning gezien die zo smaakvol is ingericht. Vaak staat er meubilair in wat in de jaren '70 al oubollig was, in deze woning absoluut niet! Ook de matrassen zijn van goede kwaliteit. Contact met de eigenaar is direct en helder. Mocht er zich een probleem voordoen, dan wordt dit direct en naar volle tevredenheid opgelost.

Erholsamer Kurzurlaub in den Ardenne

Wir haben hier ein sehr erholsames Wochenende mit Kindern und Hund verbracht. Das Haus liegt absolut ruhig in einer kleinen Siedlung mit schönen Blick in den Wald. Dank Kamin und Ofen auch bei schlechtem Wetter angenehm warm. Wir werde auf jeden Fall nochmal im Sommer wiederkommen.

Heerlijke escape

Woning wordt adequaat beschreven, was schoon, comfortabel en voorzien van alle relevante items.

Contact met Jack en Marijke was prettig en er werd snel en prettig gereageerd op vragen. Wij vinden dit een van de grote voordelen van Homeaway, het direct kunnen communiceren met de verhuurders.

Locatie is fantastisch, midden in de natuur. Huisje is gesitueerd in een kleine cluster maar op zodanige wijze dat er voldoende afstand is tot de andere huisjes.

Voorzieningen zoals supermarkt, restaurants etc zijn allen op 5 minuten rijden aanwezig.

Indien het mooi weer is kan er buiten gezeten worden op het eigen terras/deck.

In het huis staat een (kleine) TV met (een deel van de) Nederlandse zenders.

Internetverbinding (WiFi) is "basic" , streaming van content of werken op afstand is niet mogelijk. Overigens maakt de attractiviteit van huis en omgeving dit meer dan goed.
