About Luigi Verrillo

You are welcome.

I'm sure you will do a wonderful holiday in Rome.

I was born in Rome and I love this city. I'm sure you will love too. Living in the historic center of Rome is a very nice experience and live in a Roman house is a truly fantastic

Luigi Verrillo purchased this apartment in 2001

Why Luigi Verrillo chose Rome

The apartment enjoys a strategic position to know fully the true nature of the Eternal City and where you can reach all the main tourist attractions of Rome on foot.

The apartment is located exactly in Via Garibaldi, 24 (a few steps from Trastevere SM, 10min walk from Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori, Pantheon, Vatican etc ...) in one of the most historical places in Rome. The apartment is located in one of the most characteristic streets of Trastevere with local shops and restaurants. FANTASTIC LOCATION

What makes this apartment unique

Leave home and walk to reach all places of tourist interest in a few minutes is really fantastic.

Buy the hot baked bread, pizza, take a cappuccino or coffee as a true Roman ..... before diving in history is a great experience

Guestbook comments from the manager

We stayed in the apartment for 3 nights in May - two grown ups three kids. The apartment was spotless and the location was great and in walking distance to the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps and even the Colosseum. Taxi to the Vatican was 5 Euros. Lots of stores in the alley to buy wine, cheese, bread and fruit. Blu Ice gelato across the street was one of the best we tried.

The booking and communication went without a hitch. The owner made sure we had an English speaking representative who checked us in. (Thank you, Anna)

We recommend our big apartment In Via Garibaldi to anybody who wants to be in the middle of the (Rome) action : ) We want to go back!

Nice Main Floor + Lower Level Apartment in Trastevere

  • 4 of 5

This apartment was in the perfect location for us - within walking distance to the American University in Rome where my son is going to school. Also within walking distance to everything Trastevere plus many, many venues just across the river. 40-minute walk to the Vatican. There are two bedrooms on the lower level as well as a double bed in the larger hall space outside the master. When the bedroom doors are closed, it is pitch black, so be sure to bring an alarm clock. I slept until 10:00 a.m. which I haven't done in thirty years. The kitchen has a nice refrigerator, microwave, small oven. We didn't do any cooking, but we did use glassware and re-heated leftovers in the microwave. Who wants to cook on vacation? Especially when in Rome where food is delish! I have only a couple of criticisms, some minor, one more major. The sofa in living room sucks. It's uncomfortable and caves in the middle. It's a hide-a-bed, but it's seen better days. The sofa in the 2nd bedroom should be moved to the living room. The other seats in the living room are just tiny ottomans, so there's really no where to sit with friends and enjoy a glass of wine. We made do, but I would overhaul the living room making it more comfortable if it were up to me. The other little things were the bathroom doorknob that fell off immediately so we just put it on the bathroom counter and didn't shut the door; the cork screw in the kitchen (the only one) had no screw in it. It was one of those with the two arms - very common. But there was no screw part of it so we just tossed it and let the manager know. There is no lamp in the living room, so for lighting you get interrogation lights or darkness. A lamp would be nice. The shelf in the shower is mounted in the middle and tips like a teeter-totter - useless. I put a colander from the kitchen in the shower and put shampoo, rinse, and soap in it.The website said there is a washer, but it has been disconnected, so be advised that THERE IS NO WASHER. I think this apartment is very nice in most ways and the negatives were not deal-breakers. The only reason I might not stay here again is that the bathroom is on the main floor and the bedrooms are down, so climbing the stairs at 3:00 a.m. is your only choice if you need to use the loo.

Trastevere rental

  • 3 of 5

This apartment has a cute, rustic charm to it. However there are some problems with it

PROS: Great, quiet location about 3 blocks from the river

Nice welcome basket and list of local restaurants, markets, etc.

Air purifying system that helps with the musty smell

Good wi-fi upstairs

CONS: Bedrooms are all downstairs (sub terranean) which gives them a cave-like feeling and a musty smell

Shower was moldy

Both downstairs A/C units weren't working so it was warm

Wi-fi is spotty at best downstairs

The floors were filthy

Owner's Response: I regret that the air conditioning had a problem and the apartment's areation system did not work well. Unfortunately it was exceptionally warm days in Rome and the technician intervened to repair it just in your last day of stay I'm sorry for this but I'm very happy that you had a wondeful holiday in Rome. Thank you for your patience Luigi

Vacanza spettacolare

  • 5 of 5

Grazie

Saluti

Fantastic experience

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Rome and the experience was fantastic. The apartment had everything we needed for our family of 5 (my wife and I plus our 3 sons ages 24, 22 and 19) . It was clean, the beds were very comfortable, the plumbing worked well and we were glad to have air conditioning during the warm temperatures. The location of the apartment is about 1.5 miles (2.5 km) from the Colosseum and the Vatican. It was very easy to walk throughout Rome from where we were located. We walked approximately 8 miles (12.8 km) on each of the four days in Rome and always made it back to the apartment without any difficulty. The district was full of wonderful restaurants, too bad we couldn't try them all. Two of the recommendations from the guest book were fantastic choices. It was also a very scenic and historic area. Several beautiful churches nearby and Garibaldi Park is a 15 minute walk away. It has a terrific panoramic view of Rome. We always felt safe in the area even when we were out until almost 12:00am (2400 hr). I would highly recommend this apartment for any travelers who are coming to Rome. In addition, also take advantage of the recommendations for tour guide from Luigi. Mr Francesco was an excellent guide with an incredible knowledge of Rome and its history.

We really had a fantastic trip and everything you did for us was appreciated.

Great apartment in an amazing city

  • 5 of 5

I stayed in Luigi's apartment with ten of my friends during our graduation trip. The furniture was very authentic and even though the apartment is actually just for ten people, placing an eleventh bed was no problem at all. But as good as these features are, nothing beats the apartment's location in the city, which is absolutely fantastic. Located in a beautiful, cosy neighborhood full of nice restaurants and bars, it is only a few minutes away from the City's amazing historic centre.

We had a wonderful time in one of the most beautiful cities on earth, and will definitely go back one day to Luigi's great apartment!

Enjoyable stay in Trestevere

  • 4 of 5

We really liked the location of this apartment in the Trestevere neighborhood. The area is wonderful and full of things to do at night. I do not feel that the listing was completely accurate. The apartment is very dark and the upstairs is pretty small. Sleeps 10 is kind of an exaggeration. Maybe you can get 10 beds in there but there is only 1 very small bathroom. Luckily we were only 4. Plus the bathroom was on the ground floor and all the bedrooms were in the basement , down about 15 steps. During the night we anticipated problems, but we managed. The bedrooms are all in the basement and there are no windows. There is air conditioning which was adequate. At first we were not happy about the bathroom and bedroom locations but then it turned out to be great for sleeping. The beds were comfortable, which is unusual for Europe where the beds are like sleeping on concrete. So all in all we were quite grateful for the basement rooms. We adjusted to it all and began feeling like it was home! By the end of our vacation we looked back on this apartment with fond feelings! The price seemed reasonable for what it was- After all they do not advertise it as being a three star property and it is not, but it is worth what you get. It would be good for a group of young adults because there are plenty of beds and couches in the basement to sleep on but one of the rooms doesn't offer a lot of privacy. It would also be good for a family where the people are familiar with one another because one of the sleeping areas has no door to close it off. The property was clean and the manager met us at the door to show us around. There were a lot of broken coffee pots in the kitchen, so making coffee became a challenge which we solved by making Instant coffee.

The apartment is located in one of the most charming streets of the artistic neighborhood of Trastevere. Guests will stay close to all major tourist attractions. You can reach ALL MAJOR POINTS OF INTEREST ON FOOT. This area is closed to vehicular traffic, it allows you to walk until late at night in the narrow streets without any danger. This apartment is located in Via Garibaldi a very quiet street and rich in the heart of Rome's liveliest. The entire neighborhood is full of shops, restaurants, pubs and pizzeria, which makes the perfect area to go out at any time of day or night. Notes:
Will be possible to organize guide tour, bike tour with guides and many activities. TO REACH THE APARTMENT, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO BOOK the "TAXI TRANSFER SERVICE" The price of the municipal taxi from the airport to the center of Rome, has been set by municipal law at the price of 48 Euros (3 people), but many taxi drivers are also demanding an EXTRA CHARGE for luggage ....or EXTRA CHARGE for night service or EXTRA CHARGE for the festive day or EXTRA CHARGE for each person over 3 ..... so ... the price will be much higher. Therefore, to avoid UNPLEASANT "discussions" with the taxi driver I recommend the "Taxi Transfert Service". The price is from 10 to 25 euros each person (depend of number of people, ask me your price) I will be happy to book your "Taxi Transfer Service" from the airport to the apartment and back (if you need) It 'a very convenient service. Your driver will be constantly in touch with the airport to guarantee punctuality in the event of delay of your flight. Duri
