Insightful dialogues regarding tradition, history and the local beliefs, resulted to the conception of this residence, on an island known for its slopes and the narrow cottages, as well as its Byzantine and Medieval buildings (Monasteries, Churches and Towers). DIALOGOI is derived from these architectural forms. Looking at this private residence, one can perceive the dialogue between the different buildings. The first one at the lower level, beside the property's main entrance is inspired by a typical cottage, in contrast to an imposing Monastery gate, which is sited next to it. The central building is oblong resembling a church with a tower house standing next to it instead of a belfry. All these are set to a harmonious dialogue, being respectful to their surroundings and the architecture, history and nature of Andros. A unique landmark of the residence is the two fish swimming in opposite directions that decorate the entrances, made with a traditional technique using pebbles.

Designers' furniture and art:
The villa is modern with all designers furniture. Contemporary Art orientated. There is also a big 'gallery' room (70 m2) with posters from the 2 contemporary art museums of Andros. It is also used as a gym and play-room (table-tennis, cards, etc).
Breathtaking view from all levels. You can see the unique Hora (capital) of Andros which stands on a sharp peninsula between two sandy beaches of Nimborio and Paraporti, amongst the magnificent unique blue color of Aegean Sea. The infinity pool (14 x 5,5 m) is like an extention of the Aegean Sea.
We are a family of 5 persons. Father, mother 2 daughters at the age of 17 and 19, and a son at the age of 11. The villa has been built by me, Panos, the father of the Zouganeli family, who is a civil engineer. We live in Athens but we love Andros very much; therefore we bought this land, we got married there, we built the villa, we baptised all our children there and since then we enjoy very often this unique island and our beautiful house.
PANOS purchased this villa in 2005
We chose this land to create our villa because Hora of Andros is a very safe and family oriented place and not mass tourism targeted.
Our property is close and with very easy access to everything you might wish. Exquisite modern art and archaeological museums, byzantine monasteries, excellent beaches, water sports, beautiful nature with water springs, restaurants, shops, beach bars, nightlife and at the same time very quiet and tranquil.
Breathtaking views from all levels including an infinity pool. Views of the Aegean Sea and the extraordinary, unique capital of Andros, Hora or Chora, being built on a very narrow peninsula.
In this property you can enjoy swimming, conversations, reading, relaxing (ideal for yoga experience), working out, steam bath, playing games (table tennis etc.) all within an inspiring aesthetic and tranquil environment.
Horse riding for up to 4 persons is also available at a small extra cost.
This is our second visit to this amazing villa - how could we not come back? Krista, Panos and Marites welcomed us back and we had a really great week again. We are three families with grown-up children, and this villa suits us perfectly: fantastic to chill out in, great to cook and eat in, and just so cool. The villa is equipped with everything you could possibly want or need; the communication is always so straightforward with the owners; and we love the island in July because the breeze keeps everything manageable. We even went for walks! I do not hesitate to recommend.
It was so pleasant to go back this year to the villa Dialogoi with its perfect esthetics and functionality and to meet Krista and Panos again! Although we love so much to explore new places the familiarity and the certainty are also very rewarding. You know in which corner of the house or of the veranda to stay during different times of the day, you know you can count on perfect cleanness maintained by Marites, you know where to find the beaches and where to buy the cheese-pie. And you know that if you stare at the beautiful view of the chora and the sea from every corner of the house, the image will stay with you through the winter. Half of the group was the same as last year but we were glad that the other half fell in love with the place as we did. Everything was impeccable, as in 2015 – the swimming pool, the beds, the kitchen – and we knew that the house is perfect for a group of 12 people. For some random reason we did not have Roula to cook for us last year but luckily we were inspired this year. It was so pleasant to have dinner at the huge stone table and enjoy Roula’s moussaka, fried zucchini, stuffed tomatoes or oven-roasted lamb! She has a lovely cheerful personality and takes care of everything, buys the ingredients, cooks and sets the table.
Do not forget to stop for lunch at Yanoulis on the way to Gavrio and go to Corthi in the afternoon to swim with the locals. As one of us named it – perfect anti-tourism.
The only thing I regret is that we only stayed for one week this year!

Our villa called 'Dialogoi' (from the word dialogue) is located near Hora (the capital) of Andros (only 10 minutes drive) on a hill overlooking Aegean Sea.
Andros has always been a wealthy island since medieval times through silk production and in more recent times through shipping with an interest in the Arts.
There are many interesting places to explore on the island like: Museums of international fame, such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Archaelogical Museum. The Naval Museum due to the great maritime tradition of the island.
A library called Kairis Library situated in Hora which is the house belonging to the philosopher Theofilos Kairis.
Ancient Paleopolis (archaeological site with a museum exhibiting sculpture of Classical and Roman eras), Ancient Zagora (one of the oldest settlements in Andros), Strofilas (prehistoric settlement dating back to 6,500 BC).
Many monasteries like: Monastery of Zoodoxhou Pigis ('The Life-Giving Source') dating back to the 9th century AD. Byzantine in style with a stunning wooden chapel. Monastery of Aghios Nikolaos which is dated also back to the 9th century. This is a magnificent building that overlooks the Achla valley. Monastery of the Panachrantou located in the village of Fallika. Monastery of Aghia Marina.
There are also some castles and towers: Castle of Hora (Venetian), castle at Kochilou (Venetian), Aghios Petros Tower (the most famous of all dating back to the 3rd - 4th century BC.
The architecture and landscape of Andros are very different to that of the rest of the Cyclades with green hillsides covered in stone terracing, crystal clear streams and natural springs of very high quality drinking water like Sariza and Lezina, unusual dove cots with square towers whose pigeon holes are decorated with geometric designs, rustic stone villages and handsome stone houses.
The capital of the island, known as Hora (Chora), is particularly attractive and unique standing on a sharp peninsula between the two sandy beaches of Nimborio and Paraporti, with an impressive marble promenade where there are very elegant restaurants, local tavernas offering delicious traditional food, cafes, bars and boutique shops but without the price tag of comparable islands such as Mykonos or Santorini.
The Sea of Andros, Aegean Sea, has a unique blue colour. The water is crystal clear, transparent and very clean. There many nice sandy beaches all around the island like:
Chryssi Ammos : with sun beds and coconut pulm umbrellas Pidima tis Grias: 'Old Lady's Jump', a small beach with an extraordinary landscape. In the water there is a strange rock which according to legend depicts the old lady who helped the Turks occupy the castle of Kochilou. Regretting her act, she climbed onto the rock and jumped into the sea.
Achla: Beautiful, serene beach with marvelous sand and turquoise water. A pretty chapel lies before the beach and a river behind. There is a small boat called 'Rania' that takes you there for the day or you can rent your own small boat for the day (no license required).
Zorkos: Located between two rocky outcrops, it is a lovely, long sandy beach with one small tavern with very nice food, using their own natural products.
Fellos, Aghios Petros, Vitali, Vori are some more very nice beaches.
Gialia, Piso Gialia, Nimborio, Paraporti are only 5 minutes driving from our villa 'Dialogoi'.
Andros is perfect for walking, fishing, swimming, sailing, windsurfing, skiing, snorkeling, bird watching and horse riding. There is a windsurfing school at Korthi. Watersports are also found at Batsi, Aghios Petros and Andros Yacht Club at Nimborio.
The Yacht Club is the main sailing club of the island. (You can use our membership and with only 5 euros each, you can enjoy the facilities (swimming, water sports, having lunch). Each summer sailing races are organized around the island.
Walking in Andros is really a very nice experience because there is a network of footpaths many of which are recently signposted and mapped for walkers. Following these paths you discover the history and tradition or Andros with wonderful nature, ancient waterways full of minerals and curative properties, many different species of wild flowers and herbs some of which are indigenous to Andros.
Bird Watching: You can watch unique Mavropetritis eagle from Madagascar.
Horse riding: Nice horses taking you around the wonderful nature of Andros. Provided at a small extra cost from our villa.
You can reach the island of Andros with a boat from Rafina port.
Rafina Port: 20 minutes from Athens airport Eleftherios Venizelos and 40 minutes from the center of Athens.
There is also a heliport adjacent to Hora (15 min away from our villa).
Hora of Andros , and our villa: 45 minutes' easy drive from the port of Andros, Gavrio.
