About Jim Morrison
I'm a 78 year old retired widower who spent a quarter of a century working in conservation. I was chief of information and education of the Georgia State Game and Fish Commission, Assistant director of the Georgia Conservancy, Inc., information officer with the U.S. Interior Department, and Executive director of the Georgia Wildlife Federation, Inc. I have a BA degree in journalism from the University of Georgia, and worked for a television station, three radio stations, and three newspapers. I founded and edited Georgia Wildllife, a monthly magazine. I was a lobbyist with the Georgia legislature for 14 years.
Jim Morrison purchased this Cabin in 1995
Why Jim Morrison chose Darien
I moved to McIntosh County on the Georgia coast because of the year round hunting, fishing, boating, beaching, biking, water skiing, and swimming, which I discovered while working in wildlife conservation.
What makes this Cabin unique
My late wife and I fell in love with the area after I former hunting buddy and his wife invited us to see where they lived on the Georgia coast. We watched the house being built, and loved the unique view across the march of saltwater creeks, islands, and sound.

Log Cabin in the Saltwater Marsh Flats of South East Georgia.
Nature all around, yet close to St. Simon's Island and Brunswick.
Mr. Jim your host is a wealth of knowledge for the local history and dinning spots. He also offers experience tours on VRBO for Sepalo Island. Mom and I wish we were there for vacation instead of work. Evenings on the porch overlooking the marsh were always busy with wildlife. Recommend this to anyone tired of the same old hotel room.
