Our apartment is unique because it offers a beautiful space for family life in the heart of Mouffetard street with a view of the rooftops of Paris, the Pantheon and the Eiffel Tower.
Vacationers can stroll in the two biggest Parisian gardens that are the botanical garden and that of Luxembourg, also roam in the neighborhood of the Rue Mouffetard and its peaceful streets or living great writers of the last century and finally visit the Pantheon.
We will make them discover this neighborhood as we like, but full of life, full of history including the most prestigious French schools. We will leave their small places we knew dig over the last seven years and which are the charm of our daily lives.
The authenticity of its inhabitants who are mostly old residents makes its charm. On Sunday morning, Rue Mouffetard is boiling: small street bands to Monge up the market through its numerous cafes.
The apartment is extremely well connected by 7 and 10 subway lines that allow it to connect the right bank and left bank to explore further. RER B serving Paris airports are also within minutes of the apartment. It is also easy to park car in the week during the day.
This was our second stay in Mathias and Sandrine's apartment. It is huge and has everything (fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer, firewood for the fireplace...) for a comfortable and easy stay. It was impeccably clean and has great light. It is in an amazing location in the Latin Quarter, within walking distance of lots of the sights, and on several metro lines that make access to other parts of Paris easy. The neighborhood is completely safe and beautiful. Mathias and Sandrine were super flexible and generous with us throughout, particularly with our arrival time since we were coming in early, off a red eye. It is hard to imagine staying anywhere else!
Our five-person family (kids aged 3, 5 and 7) had a wonderful time at this property. The apartment was surprisingly large with three bedrooms and five total beds (perfect for large families). Everything was clean and in good working order (fridge, stove, washer/dryer and wifi) and the pictures provide an accurate representation of the apartment.
The location is a five-minute walk from the #7 and #10 Metro lines which provide direct access to the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Opera and other sights. Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, Ile Saint-Louis and the Pantheon are 15 minutes away or less by foot. The neighborhood is very dense with a variety of restaurants, cafes and shops in the immediate area. However, the apartment interior was quiet at night.
As pointed out in other reviews, the apartment owner made check-in/check-out simple and was available to answer any questions we had. This was our first time using a vacation rental and process was smooth and encouraging. The apartment was stocked with toys which our kids loved coming home to every night. Although the unit is four flights up from street level, there is a ground-level locked storage room suitable for strollers and other large items that don't need to go up to the unit. I would recommend this apartment to friends/family, particularly anyone travelling with kids.
My wife and I and our two kids (ages 2 and 7) stayed in this inviting apartment located in Paris' 5th Arrondissement. The pictures gave us a pretty accurate indication of what we could expect. What couldn't be ascertained from the pictures is how much the apartment made us feel like we were at home. The apartment was decorated for the holidays including a tree. I think our older child really appreciated that since it was her first holiday away from home and it made the change a bit easier for her as well as for us. The owners provided toys that both our kids enjoyed playing with and there were lots of books available which I found entertaining even if most were in French. I further appreciated that the only tv was located in the master bedroom. Overall, the apartment was very spacious and had everything we needed (washer/dryer, dishwasher, good sized refrigerator, and stove/oven). The master bedroom was a decent size and the two kids' rooms were quite spacious. Take careful note that the apartment is 4 (possibly 3) flights up in a non-elevator building.
The apartment is in a great location especially if you don't want to stay too close to the main touristy hubs (yet still have easy access). Within a 5 minute walk of the apartment, you can find grocery stores, the Metro, several cafes, boulangeries, bars, and good carryout and sit-down restaurants. If you don't mind a hike, you can even take a leisurely stroll to the Louvre via Notre Dame in under 45 minutes.
If this apartment ticks most of your boxes, what will truly separate it from others is the experience you will have with the owners. Mathias was very pleasant during my communications with him prior to our trip and he clearly and patiently answered all of my questions and provided me with excellent guidance. His father greeted us upon our arrival and proved to be an excellent ambassador despite the fact that we arrived later than planned and could not forewarn him due to our technology issues. He was very patient and provided us with very good information regarding the immediate neighborhood.
We hope to come back to Paris when my youngest is a bit older. When we do, this apartment will assuredly be my first choice for a place to stay.
We LOVED this apartment. It is incredibly spacious, has fantastic light, and everything you may need is there. The location is great, right in the Latin Quarter. We walked all over Paris to visit museums and neighborhoods. Mathias and Sandrine were incredibly attentive and flexible with us. We were sad to leave, and definitely plan on coming back!
We (2 parents, 2 small children, 1 grandparent) had a wonderful stay at this apartment. Sandrine and Mathias made us feel at home in this large apartment, well furnished and close to many major attractions and metro stops. Just off of Rue Mouffetard, which has numerous restaurants and shops, this is a lively area of the city but quiet enough since it's not on Mouffetard itself. Within walking distance (10-15 mins or less) of the Pantheon, Cluny Museum, Museum of Natural History, Jardin Luxembourg, Notre Dame, and Sainte-Chapelle, among others. The house itself has 3 large bedrooms, plus 1.5 baths, a large living room, and kitchen, perfect for our family. The fact that there were toys for small children was fantastic, as I'm fairly sure we could have stayed in the apartment the whole time and the kids would have been happy! This is easily one of the best apartments I've stayed in on VRBO.
Pros: Very large space (incl. bedrooms), charming character, warm welcome, two bathrooms (1 tub, 1 shower), fully stocked, washer/dryer, great location (full of life but quiet at night), keeps cool during hot days, walking distance to many attractions, two metro lines (7 and 10) in easy walking distance, family-friendly (2 of the bedrooms are kids' rooms stocked with toys), restaurants/bakeries/shops nearby.
Cons: approximately 70 steps (good way to work off pains au chocolat) to apartment, no elevator - but this is a small inconvenience.
We spent a wonderful week in Paris. As the city is very busy and loud we always found a nice, lightful and quiet place here. We also loved the neighboorhood with the bars and restaurants. Thank you for caring so much about our wellbeing during our stay :-) All the best for you and your family
