great location, comfortable flat

It's a lovely flat, and was very nice to have two bathrooms. The owners are very responsive to any of our needs. Be prepared for a spiral staircase to get down to the front door. We love the location in Kensington, close to the tube, and several museums, restaurants, etcetera

Lovely and Spacious Flat in Prime South Kensington Location

This is the secod time that we have stayed in this wonderful flat. We returned because the location can't be beat and the accomodations are perfect for us. The open living room and dining room area is spacious and inviting. The bedroom has an ensuite bath plus there is another full bath off of the hallway. The bed is king sized which is a rare find in London rentals. The kitchen is small but it is fully equiped and has everything you need. The flat is below street level which surprised us on our first visit but we quickly realized the benefits. The flat is extremely quiet. We slept very well here! A short walk will take you to excellent restaurants, grocery stores, tube stations and the Victoria & Albert Museum. The location feels quite safe which is another reason we returned. We routinely walked to dinner after dark and felt perfectly comfortable. I would highly recommend this flat. Emma was easy to communicate with and answered all of our questions about out reservations. We had no need to contact her during our visit because everything was seamless. We would love to stay here again the next time we are in London. Mary T

Warning. Don't be fooled by photos. Mildew-ridden basement flophouse; Great location though!

Great neighborhood (boutique shops, restaurants, museums, and South Kensington Underground a block away), but don't be fooled by the pictures which are outdated.It seems clear that the owners have not visited the flat or spent a night in it in a very long time. Being a basement flat, it is mildew ridden. We had to request that layers of mold be cleaned in the shower, floor, walls, and ceiling before we could even use it. The owners did send a cleaner, and refund the cleaning charge, but this should not have occurred in the first place. The mattress on the master bedroom bed was completely worn out and stained. Not fit for sleeping on. The couch/sofa cushions are also completely worn, with padding almost non-existent. They were also quite dusty/filthy. The dining table chairs are also completely worn. Your bottom sinks to the springs when you sit down. The chair covers are also incredibly fifthly. The glasses and utensils in the kitchen are dirty and look as though they have not been professionally cleaned in years. Overall, a yucky experience. Keep looking. Only giving 2 stars because of the location. Enough said.

Owner's Response: To say that we are shocked by this is an understatement, in 20 years of renting properties we have never had such an experience. We have fully addressed the cleaning issues Mr Rosenfeld had mentioned in his review, and as stated were quick to action his issues on arrival. We are not sure what type of 'flophouses' Mr Rosenfeld visits but can assure you that the flat has been significantly misrepresented. The wifi is Virgin - a world renowned system that past guests have never had issue with, we have compliments on the comfort of the beds and have never had issue with the variety of TV channels. We made it clear on booking that the 4 persons would be accommodated 2 in the master and 2 on one sofa bed - there is a small additional charge for linen to utilise the 2nd sofa bed that Mr Rosenfeld choose not to pay. We did offer him as a gesture the third set of sheets albeit not agreed in advance. Sadly our decision not to make a significant refund on the very competitive rental rate would appear to have chastened Mr Rosenfelds desire to mis represent our property. We are committed to ensuring that all our guests have a good stay and are available at all times to deal with any issue. We are extremely sad that Mr Rosenfelds stay was not up to his requirements but are firm in the belief, from feedback that other guests have enjoyed their stay immensely.

As advertised but?

The couches were quite dirty and uncomfortable due to age. The micro wave did not work properly. The king bed was nice and comfortable and the apartment is in an excellent location. Two bathrooms were great. The owner should provide information on how to turn on the TV. You had to use two remotes and if you failed to do it properly it would not work. American guest should be aware that the coffee pot is a press and not what we are used to.

Perfect location!

This flat was perfect for our month-long stay in London. It's really spacious and comfortable with a large bedroom, ample closet and dresser space, two couches in the living room, dining table for six, and two bathrooms. It's close to two tube stations and several bus lines. There are many good restaurants close by and several museums within easy walking distance. The owners were very responsive when the inevitable couple of things came up. We'd stay here again!

Great value for the great location!

This flat was perfect for our trip to London! We were near several museums, Kensington Place, Hyde park, bus stops for the hop on, hop off tours, and between two tube stations. Each morning we grabbed a hot beverage from Cafe Nerro, and explored London and Westminster. The comforts of home were provided in the flat, and as always we were happy to spend our time in a home versus a hotel room.
