About Nathan & Jennifer Miller

We have enjoyed family vacations to Cold Mountain since 1987 when my Grandmother built the cabin. In 2006, we completed an extensive renovation and decided to offer the property to vacationers. It brings us great joy to see our guests enjoy the cabin and create lifelong memories with their friends and families as well.

Nathan & Jennifer Miller purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Nathan & Jennifer Miller chose Maggie Valley/Waynesville Area

We have been visiting the Waynesville area for many years, and is a special place indeed. We love the balance between the rustic charm of Waynesville, the eclectic urban sophistication in Asheville, and the breathtaking beauty of the mountains, and the limitless outdoor activities. The cabin is ideally situated to reach all of our favorite places easily, and we love the setting on Cold Mountain that offers us complete privacy and serenity.

What makes this cabin unique

We could write a book about all there is to enjoy in the area. At the top of the list is a day in Asheville visiting the Biltmore house or Arboretum and checking out the eclectic shops and restaurants downtown. The town of Waynesville offers dozens of bookstores, coffee shops, art galleries, and fantastic dining opportunities. When it's time for the great outdoors, we head up to the Blue Ridge Parkway to our favorite hiking spots: Devil's Courthouse, Black Balsam Knob, or Graveyard Fields waterfall. During the warmer months, we enjoy horseback riding at Cataloochee Ranch, and of course skiing in the winter. Perhaps our favorite pastime is having a campfire on the deck after dinner and gazing up at the stars.

Even better than advertised!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin has everything you could need, and shopping and dining are nearby if you prefer to go out. But you'll want to stay and sit on the deck in the quiet, enjoying the view and the sound of the river down the hill. Cooking dinner in such a well stocked kitchen was a pleasure. Everything was taken care of and provided, and the stay was so pleasant and relaxing.

Wonderful cabin, great view from the deck, lovely place

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time in Nathan's and Jennifer's cabin and it has been just wonderful. The bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, furnishings - everything is awesome in this small cabin. The deck is certainly its priceless feature. My wife and daughter loved it.

Amazing scene!

  • 5 of 5

We rented number of cabins in this area but this was the cleanest and the most organized cabin ever. My daughter loved the loft above the living room.

We stayed three days and experienced winter, spring and summer. It snowed the first night, next day warmed up and and last day was 74 degree.

I must say we were little nerves when we got there and found out there was no heating but my son quickly figured out how to start the wood burning furnace and it heated the entire cabin after a few hours.

Breath taking!!!

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful home, the perfect cabin tucked away in the mountains! The beauty that surrounds this house is breath taking and you can hear the river flowing from the balcony! This house has everything you need. It is a modern luxury in the midst of the mountains! The location is great, about 30 min from the main attractions which is so convenient. The house has everything you could need and the owners were always available for questions and assistance! We loved this house and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is travelling to this area!!

Excellent cabin and property, excellent location, excellent owners!

  • 4 of 5

I had wonderful stay in this cabin. The land around the cabin is very private and quiet. The cabin itself is well-designed, warm in character, cozy and strikes a good balance between elegance, modern convenience and rustic simplicity. The cabin is in great condition. A little more light in the kitchen/dining area is my only suggestion for improvement. The cabin is also located very close to designated wilderness, hiking trails, waterfalls, the Blue Ridge ParkWay, as well as Waynesville and Asheville; you couldn't ask for a better, more central location for the best of outdoor activities and mountain town amenities and culture. The cabin's owners, Nathan and Jennifer, were very attentive, caring, and hospitable; they were always available and happy to help promptly with any questions or issues that came up. Finally, I thought the cabin was reasonably priced. I definitely plan to return to the Cold Mountain Cabin.
