Perched on historic Cold Mountain at an elevation of 3500 feet, this luxury mountain home features 2 bedroom suites each with queen size bed and full private bath. The fully equipped gourmet kitchen features custom hickory cabinets, granite countertops, and Jenn-Air stainless steel appliances. Complimenting the open floor plan are rustic heart pine floors throughout. For cool nights, gather around the wood pellet stove for the warmth and ambiance of a roaring wood fire with the push of a button.
Perhaps your favorite space will be the huge deck with spectacular unspoiled mountain views and complete privacy. Relax on the deck and listen to the rush of the nearby stream flowing down the mountain, or gazing at the stars in the night sky.
Guests will be able to enjoy hiking and exploring the private gravel roads and trails that climb up to over 4000' on Cold Mountain right from the driveway.
Cold Mountain Cabin is perfectly situated just 15 minutes from the quaint town of Waynesville with it's art galleries, shops, boutiques, coffee shops, and gourmet dining opportunities. Maggie Valley's tourist attractions and Cataloochee Ski Area are just 20 minutes away. Take a 45 minute drive to the Biltmore House, Grove Park Inn, or spend a day exploring Asheville. Best of all, Cold Mountain Cabin is only 15 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and convenient to the Shining Rock Wilderness Area, Pisgah National Forest, Sliding Rock, Looking Glass Falls, and the Cradle of Forestry. You will have the best hiking, mountain biking, scenic drives, waterfalls, horseback riding, and nature exploration the Smokey Mountains have to offer in your back yard.
You will not find a more serene mountain retreat to relax and renew your spirit than Cold Mountain Cabin!
We have enjoyed family vacations to Cold Mountain since 1987 when my Grandmother built the cabin. In 2006, we completed an extensive renovation and decided to offer the property to vacationers. It brings us great joy to see our guests enjoy the cabin and create lifelong memories with their friends and families as well.
Nathan & Jennifer Miller purchased this cabin in 2006
We have been visiting the Waynesville area for many years, and is a special place indeed. We love the balance between the rustic charm of Waynesville, the eclectic urban sophistication in Asheville, and the breathtaking beauty of the mountains, and the limitless outdoor activities. The cabin is ideally situated to reach all of our favorite places easily, and we love the setting on Cold Mountain that offers us complete privacy and serenity.
We could write a book about all there is to enjoy in the area. At the top of the list is a day in Asheville visiting the Biltmore house or Arboretum and checking out the eclectic shops and restaurants downtown. The town of Waynesville offers dozens of bookstores, coffee shops, art galleries, and fantastic dining opportunities. When it's time for the great outdoors, we head up to the Blue Ridge Parkway to our favorite hiking spots: Devil's Courthouse, Black Balsam Knob, or Graveyard Fields waterfall. During the warmer months, we enjoy horseback riding at Cataloochee Ranch, and of course skiing in the winter. Perhaps our favorite pastime is having a campfire on the deck after dinner and gazing up at the stars.
I had wonderful stay in this cabin. The land around the cabin is very private and quiet. The cabin itself is well-designed, warm in character, cozy and strikes a good balance between elegance, modern convenience and rustic simplicity. The cabin is in great condition. A little more light in the kitchen/dining area is my only suggestion for improvement. The cabin is also located very close to designated wilderness, hiking trails, waterfalls, the Blue Ridge ParkWay, as well as Waynesville and Asheville; you couldn't ask for a better, more central location for the best of outdoor activities and mountain town amenities and culture. The cabin's owners, Nathan and Jennifer, were very attentive, caring, and hospitable; they were always available and happy to help promptly with any questions or issues that came up. Finally, I thought the cabin was reasonably priced. I definitely plan to return to the Cold Mountain Cabin.
We had such a wonderful time. The view was amazing. The drive up to it and the driveway are a little tricky but manageable. The cabin had anything we could have needed plus some and even the small things that we forgot. It was very clean and very well kept. Beautiful kitchen, very spacious bedrooms and it felt just like being home.
We enjoyed every minute of being there and cannot wait to go back. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay.
Thank you, Nathan and Jennifer!
We stayed here at the beginning of October and had a great time. If you're looking for a secluded cabin, this is the place. Cabin had all the amenities you would ever need and the owners were great to work with. The cabin had wifi which worked very well, but if you needed to use your cell phone, there was no reception (though there was a landline which you could use), so if you're addicted to texting, this isn't the place for you. We left some personal items at the cabin and the owners went above and beyond to get them back to us, which was greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend this cabin to stay at.
This home is so comfy! Had everything we needed, and access was easy in our Accord. You feel like you are alone on the mountain as you look out at the beautiful views from the deck. The owners were very nice to deal with, and answered all of our questions. Waynesville residents are so friendly. Highly recommend Zambra restaurant in Asheville. Be sure to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway - you will be so glad you did! Take time to just relax at Cold Mountain Cabin too. Amazing week - amazing home.
Cabin was beautiful, but the view...spectacular! The leaves seemed to change colors as we watched them fall. Kitchen was a big surprise. Everything new including granite tops. Very complete. We hiked for days without leaving the mountain. Coffee on the deck was a memory in itself. Only drawback was the drop in temps overnight from 60 one night to 35 the next. Never solved the baseboard heat issue. Would definitely go back and recommend to others. And, Waynesville only 20 minutes from cabin.
My husband and I had a great stay here. Lovely location and a fantastic view. Spent our days hiking off the Blue Ridge Pkwy and shopping in Waynesville. The cabin was well maintained and equipped with everything we needed. You can't see or hear anyone around so it's very peaceful. Hopefully, we will get a chance to go back sometime.
