About Nathan & Jennifer Miller

We have enjoyed family vacations to Cold Mountain since 1987 when my Grandmother built the cabin. In 2006, we completed an extensive renovation and decided to offer the property to vacationers. It brings us great joy to see our guests enjoy the cabin and create lifelong memories with their friends and families as well.

Nathan & Jennifer Miller purchased this cabin in 2006

Why Nathan & Jennifer Miller chose Maggie Valley/Waynesville Area

We have been visiting the Waynesville area for many years, and is a special place indeed. We love the balance between the rustic charm of Waynesville, the eclectic urban sophistication in Asheville, and the breathtaking beauty of the mountains, and the limitless outdoor activities. The cabin is ideally situated to reach all of our favorite places easily, and we love the setting on Cold Mountain that offers us complete privacy and serenity.

What makes this cabin unique

We could write a book about all there is to enjoy in the area. At the top of the list is a day in Asheville visiting the Biltmore house or Arboretum and checking out the eclectic shops and restaurants downtown. The town of Waynesville offers dozens of bookstores, coffee shops, art galleries, and fantastic dining opportunities. When it's time for the great outdoors, we head up to the Blue Ridge Parkway to our favorite hiking spots: Devil's Courthouse, Black Balsam Knob, or Graveyard Fields waterfall. During the warmer months, we enjoy horseback riding at Cataloochee Ranch, and of course skiing in the winter. Perhaps our favorite pastime is having a campfire on the deck after dinner and gazing up at the stars.

Warm and inviting with beattiful views

  • 5 of 5

We found the cabin to be very cozy. We spent a lot of time on the spacious porch bird watching and listening to the creek. The kitchen was well stocked with items needed for cooking inside or out. The location made it easy to drive the Blue Ridge parkway and find amazing locations to hike.

We would recommend this property to our friends looking for a place to stay.

Very clean cabin that instantly feels like home. Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Along with our daughter, my wife and I spent the last week at Cold Mountain Cabin. (6/26 - 7/1). We looked forward to waking up and enjoying the amazing view, visiting everything in the surrounding areas, to especially coming home to cook or grill out and sit by the fire. We look forward to returning. Wonderful place.

Peaceful with beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

I enjoyed this property immensely with my two children, ages 10 and 14. It is very remote, scenic, and the owners were extremely responsive. A great spot to get away from it all in the beautiful Smoky Mountains, while still being near the great communities of Waynesville and Asheville.

Beautiful Cabin

  • 3 of 5

The cabin is beautiful. Someone took great care to stock the kitchen. We had our morning coffee's and meals out on the deck and enjoyed night's out at the firepit. We felt the overview and photos were deceiving because this cabin is surrounded by other properties, although you cannot see them from the deck due to the trees. We could hear children screaming and playing right above us up the mountain, and neighborhood dogs came to visit us several different days. After two days of searching for the "trails" right off of the gravel road, I sent the owners a message for directions to the trails as we were unable to find them. The message I received back was that there aren't specific trails, it was only a gravel road that they hike. The problems we had with this is we had three children with us and the road is one lane, curvy, and steep and we weren't going to take our chances with out of control motorists and we weren't going to trespass on the various private drives all along the road. We were very disappointed that we couldn't hike right from the cabin like we were expecting, especially after such a long drive to get there. We spent way more time in the car than we would have liked. There's nowhere to stop and explore off the surrounding roads because it's a huge residential area. I would suggest using the Wi-Fi to plan out any trips as we found Canton difficult to navigate without GPS and you have to drive quite a ways to get anywhere.

It was nice opening all the shades in the morning and being able to close them all at night. The back door off of one of the bedrooms was the only exception, there was no shade on it, which left me feeling uncomfortable at night. We enjoyed having access to the BBQ grill and washer/dryer - laundry detergent was provided. Our security deposit was refunded quickly.

Beautiful home and location, will return!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I just celebrated our 10 year anniversary by traveling to this beautiful home. It is very close to Canton and Waynesville and only minutes from several hiking trails. The home was meticulously kept and very comfortable. My wife and I will be returning for another visit!
