Superbly situated in one of Madrid’s most atmospheric and beautiful neighbourhoods, this three bedroom apartment offers guests a winning combination of both comfort and style, all within one of the city’s most sought-after areas. The apartment sits in the very heart of the Barrio de las Letras, which takes its name from its fascinating cultured and literary past. A number of famous writers have lived in the area including Quevedo, who actually completed many of his masterpieces in the building next door to the apartment. Barrio de las Letras is a mix of peaceful, narrow lanes and more lively streets, including the pedestrianized Calle Huertas, which comes alive at weekends with shoppers and diners. Guests are well placed to explore the rest of the city, with the vibrant Plaza Santa Ana and Puerta del Sol within walking distance. The “Big Three” art museums can also be reached on foot, along with a number of different metro and bus stops which travel throughout the capital. With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, the apartment itself is situated in a beautifully renovated traditional building, and offers a modern interior within a stylish and historical setting. The open-plan living and dining room is the highlight of the property, and features three traditional balcony windows with wooden shutters, all of which look out onto the street below. With plenty of seating and a dining table for five, the room is bright, spacious, and tastefully decorated throughout with artwork, furniture and lighting of the highest quality. The kitchen is brand new and comes fully equipped with everything guests may need during their stay, and includes a small breakfast bar which is perfect for informal meals. Each of the double bedrooms has been individually decorated in keeping with the rest of the property, and both the tiled bathrooms are practical yet elegant. With a great location and beautiful interior, this is the perfect option for those looking for a truly historical Madrid experience.

Surface area: 100 m2. Ground floor. The entrance leads into a spacious living / dining area with 3 large French windows. This area is furnished with a 3-seater sofa, a single sofa, an elegant double seat with high arm-rests, a coffee table, side table, flat-screen TV, a dining table and a seating area for 5. Adjacent to the living room is the first double bedroom with a large window onto the living room and a sliding door for optimum privacy. It is furnished with a queen-sized bed (1.50m x 2.00m), 2 bedside tables with reading lamps, a dresser drawer, and a chair. To the left of the entrance is a doorway that leads to the kitchen and two more bedrooms. The kitchen is equipped with refrigerator / freezer, a 4-ring ceramic hob (stove), microwave, oven, dishwasher, and a built-in eating bar for 2. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed (1.50m x 2.00m), 2 bedside tables with light fixtures and a built-in wardrobe. The en-suite bathroom has a large walk-in shower. The third bedroom is furnished with 2 twin beds (0.90m x 2.00m), a bedside table and a built-in closet. There is also a second bathroom with shower and washer / dryer. There is wooden flooring in the living / dining room, first double bedroom and bathrooms. The two additional bedrooms have carpet flooring and the kitchen is tiled.

Classy, cosy condo in a great location

Hector greeted us at the house and gave a tour of the residence, plus he also gave some great suggestions for things to see and do in the area. The location was central to all our activities, between the Prado and all the plazas in the area. The condo was well appointed with all the amenities we could possibly need.

Perfect Service

Great apartment

Excellent apartment and stay as it was described in the web. All upgraded and comfortable, with the exception of the shower in the second bathroom: very small. Washer and dryers efficient. Great location. Staff very helpful. Will definitely recommend.

Great appartment - Nice neighbourhood

We arrived 4 adults and 2 kids and enjoyed from start the Way we were informed abort the technic and other details in the appartment.

Everything was just okay the 4 days we stayed .

Both due to appartment and Living close to things we would like to see!

Great Stay

With 5 people coming to Madrid to sightsee, we found this to a very nice place to stay.

Pros:

-Good service getting access

-Easy to sleep 6

-Very walkable to Prado

-Walkable to Plaza Mayor and Royal Palace

-Very walkable to Anton Martin subway stop

-Great kitchen with large refrigerator

Cons:

-For Texans who are used to being able to come from heat into heavy air conditioning, during July in Madrid, A/C made it cool, but not as cold as I would like. (Those that aren't fans of powerful A/C probably won't care)

-Street that the apartment is on is small enough that most taxi drivers won't know it unless they use their GPS

If your visit is anything like ours, you will find this a great option for a visit to central Madrid. I would give 5 stars for anyone used to typical European air conditioning and 4 for those that like it cold even when hot outside.
