The Old Apple Store is one of two independent gites set within 5 acres in the beautiful Dordogne countryside. The location is ideal for those who want a quiet away- from-it-all holiday but still within easy reach of many famous sites, historical towns and local attractions.
The house was converted from the original farmer's cottage and the apple storage barn, hence it's name. It consists of a tastefully furnished lounge/dining room with log burner for out-of-season stays, and a dining area seating up to 6 people. The large well-equipped kitchen has a gas cooker, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. It has French windows opening onto a private terrace with table and chairs for outside dining.
The double bedroom and bathroom are reached by a stairway from the lounge while the twin mezzanine bedroom has its own stairway leading up from the kitchen area. As a result it may not be suitable for very young children.
The terrace to the back of the cottage has wonderful views of the countryside and is the perfect spot to relax with a glass of wine in the evening.
Guests have free access to all of our grounds where there are several quiet sitting areas and picnic benches. You can watch the wildlife, find a quiet spot to read or just relax in the sun.If you are more artistic there are great opportunities for photography or even to try your hand at sketching or painting. For the more energetic swimming and tennis are available on site and many more activities can be found nearby, including boating, fishing, riding and golf.
In the evenings you can play a game of darts or pool in our games room while enjoying a drink in the bar area. We do not sell alcohol but guests are welcome to bring their own drinks into the bar. We have a small fridge in the bar stocked with soft drinks and ice-cream which operates on an honesty box system.
For larger groups both gites can be rented together to accommodate up to 10 people while allowing each group to have their own space.
