*On the first floor: A one-bedroom, "mother-in-law" apartment with its own separate, handicapped accessible entrance. When the whole house is rented, the apartment door is unlocked, providing easy access to the rest of the house and the elevator. The full-sized kitchen with eat-in bar is stocked with essential cooking utensils. The sleep sofa in the living room contains a queen-sized mattress. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed. Bathroom with shower/tub combination. Ceiling fans, television, compact washer/dryer. Large, private deck overlooking the marsh -- great for early morning coffee.

*On the second floor: A luxurious master bedroom suite with king-sized bed and bath with oversized tub and separate shower. Enjoy views of the marsh, marina and inlet in the large adjoining sitting room. Private deck off the sitting room.

Two additional bedrooms on this floor (one bedroom has two twin beds and one bedroom has a queen-sized bed), decorated in nautical themes, with hard wood floors, share a bathroom and a deck.

Full-sized washer/dryer located on this floor.

*On the top floor: The open floor plan features a spacious, great room with beautiful hardwood floors; large sectional sofa (that includes a chaise, "lazy boy" chair, and queen sleeper); fireplace. The great room includes a game table, separate chaise, and sink/counter space with compact refrigerator.

Sliding glass doors take you to the deck overlooking the wetlands. The deck includes a full-sized table and seating.

The kitchen features hardwood flooring, granite counter tops, island with seating, eating nook, and deck overlooking Sunset Marina. The front deck includes a full-sized table and seating, serving cart, and charcoal grill.

The dining room connects the kitchen with the great room.

An elevator takes you (and your luggage) between floors.

*The two-car garage plus driveway will accommodate at least four cars.

**We rent to adults 25 years or older.

***Walk to Sunset Marina and OC Fisherman's Marina. From the kitchen, you can see boats leaving and entering Sunset Marina, which is about a 5-10 minute walk from Marsh Magic. Also in the area of Sunset Marina are great local restaurants including: Sunset Grille; The Shark; Crab Alley; Ocean City Fishing Company (formerly Captain's Galley); Harborside; and Sello's (Italian).

****Down the street from Sunset Grille you can purchase fresh seafood from Martin Fish Company to cook at home.

*****From the back decks, you can see the boats at OC Fisherman's Marina, which is a 10-minute walk from Marsh Magic. OC Fisherman Marina features a gift store and restaurant, Mickey Finns, overlooking the inlet.

In short, Marsh Magic, which is located on a street that ends in the inlet, is a perfect location if you want to be close to the ocean without the crowds. It is a short walk/drive to the beach and provides easy access to deep sea fishing excursions and opportunities to sample local fare.

*Long-Term Off-Season Availability: The first floor apartment may be rented separately during the off-season -- from October through May. The apartment, which has a separate entrance from the rest of the house, is ideal for a single adult or a couple. The off-season rate for the apartment is $1,100/month.

*The two top floors -- which include the great room, kitchen, dining room, three bedrooms (including the master suite) and two and a half baths -- may be rented separately during the off-season. The off-season rate for the top two floors is $2,500/month.

About Sharon Taylor

I grew up near Ocean City and went to the beach there with my family for many years. I have many fond memories of my time there. I have since moved away to work in Washington, D.C. but return as often as possible to enjoy the ocean breeze, smell the salt air, and listen to the cry of the seagulls.

Traveling and exploring different countries and cultures is one of my favorite things to do. To date, I have traveled to over 60 countries and every continent, including Antarctica. Some of the artwork and decorations in Marsh Magic were acquired on my travels -- including from Australia, New Zealand, Croatia, Bali, France, Germany, and Alaska.

Sharon Taylor purchased this house in 2006

Why Sharon Taylor chose Maryland

Being near the water and within view of the boats in the nearby marinas makes Marsh Magic the perfect place for me to escape and relax when the stresses of life start to take their toll. I enjoy staying there when I need to get recharged.

In the mornings I like to take a stroll down to the end of the street to "Homer Guldesky Park" -- the beach located on the inlet. The beach attracts day fishermen and a few sunbathers and, while the current is too swift for swimming there, the beach is great if you just want to feel the sand between your toes and "commune with nature."

Located in the opposite direction from the beach are a number of restaurants -- just a short walk away. That means I never have to venture far to get a great meal.

What makes this house unique

Marsh Magic is within walking distance of several marinas -- most notably in west Ocean City: Sunset Marina; Fisherman's Marina; OC Fishing Center; and in Ocean City proper -- the Talbot Street Pier. Even though I do not fish, it is relaxing to watch the boats navigate the surrounding waterways. From the front deck of Marsh Magic I enjoy checking out the 'mood' of the ocean; though not close enough to hear the waves crashing, I can see if the ocean is stirred up with whitecaps or if it is having a calm day. From the back deck I like to be 'entertained' by the marsh. Sometimes the marsh is a sea of green marsh grass; othertimes, when the tide is high, it literally is a sea (and during storms, there can even be waves!). The marsh attracts a variety of birds that come to feed there. I am not much of a bird watcher, but it still fun to spot their white, gray, or brown plumage in contrast to the green marsh grass. It makes me feel that all is right with the world.

Our impression of the property was exceptional. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Her home is spacious, beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. It has beautiful views and is in a quiet area yet accessible to all points of interest. My family and I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this vacation property. We hope to visit again in the future.

Great Week at Marsh Magic

  • 5 of 5

Marsh Magic is a very large accomadating quiet comfortable home. My family and extended family had a wonderful time at this clean, quiet , spacious and very well stocked home for a week at Ocean City, MD. The owner is very attentive to any needs you may have while at her home. She takes care of anything that does not meet your expectations and she has very friendly and professional people that work at her property. It is a very nice vacation home and we plan to stay therer this year also.

Great time had by all

  • 5 of 5

I just wanted to write a review and thank you for allowing us to rent your beautiful home. The group had a great time over the weekend and after they left my two children(10 & 11 months)were able to come down. My ten year old was amazed by the elevator and you were right it did save a lot of back strain.  My family and I just wanted to say thank you again and hope to be back again soon.

Luxury OC MD Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Magic Marsh with a group of friends in August 2011 for a long weekend. It was a fantastic trip - the owner is great, the house is clean, well-decorated, spacious with tons of outdoor deck space, and an elevator! The house is located within walking distance from popular local bars and restaurants just over the bridge from downtown Ocean City.

The trip to downtown Ocean City and the beach was also easy - the house is just around the corner from a park and ride station; the fare is $1.00 for the entire day, and buses run regularly until 1:00 am. We walked to the park and ride every morning with our beach bags and chairs, and took the bus back in the early evening. We also took the bus downtown in the evening. The bus drops you off one block from the boardwalk. And there are taxis available from downtown to drive back to the house after 1:00 am, but you may need to call for one. We did not have to use our cars for the entire trip (there was plenty of parking at the house - we had at least 6 cars).

We also spent a lot of time at the house - there are two kitchens, fully equipped with pots, pans, plates, wine glasses, etc.; there are also two charcoal grills. It was great - we were able to make group dinners every night during sunset and eat on the deck facing the marsh and downtown Ocean City. There was plenty of space, and we were all very comfortable. The owner was very accessible and provided us with a lot of information about the area prior to our trip.

I would highly recommend this house to groups or families. The location is perfect for everyone - it's peaceful and spacious for those looking to relax, but there are also plenty of bars and restaurants nearby for those looking to go out. There is a grocery store and a beer/wine store within a few minutes drive. There is also an outlet mall located just a few minutes drive away (the park and ride bus also makes a stop there) and there is a casino located about five minutes away, which we didn't visit but may have if there had been a rainy day during our visit.

Our group has been visiting Ocean City for the past five years, and we normally stay in North Ocean City, near the DE/MD border, but we think that this was our best trip yet! The luxury, comfort, location and convenience of can't be beat. We would definitely stay at Magic Marsh again!

Great Place, Great Owner, Great Experience!

  • 5 of 5

We rented Marsh Magic during the first week of August and could not have been happier with our rental decision. The location, views, and ambiance at Marsh Magic are fabulous! We rented a slip for our boat at the Ocean City fishing center and had great fishing and weather! We are already planning a return visit for next year. This is a great place and we will be back. The owner was fantastic throughout the process

"Pictures do not even do this house justice!"

  • 5 of 5

As we were packing up to leave after a long weekend, we all wished we could have stayed longer at Marsh Magic! The house was fantastic, and my friend said it right when she said "the pictures do not even do this house justice". I will recommend this house to any friends looking to stay in Ocean City and would look to return in the future.

Working with the owner was a breeze, she was clear, efficient, and quick to respond to questions. Upon arrival, the house was impressively clean and every detail of comfort for her guests had been thought of. We quickly felt at home.

We all remarked at the great location- a short drive to downtown fun, but also in a quiet and safe neighborhood. Easy to stay in the house, with it's ample space, beautiful porches, and great kitchens. But also just as easy to get to the beach, boardwalk, and fun of Ocean City.

If you are looking for a fun and easy trip to Ocean City this house is for you!
