Close to downtown and the University of Florida campus in nature!
About Greg DeLong
Semi-retired Air Force Vietnam veteran that enjoys nature and life. Have been a resident of Gainesville for over 40 years and love it here. Very involved in a open and affirming church that is involved in social justice. I'm a free-lance graphic designer/photographer. Very outgoing and love interaction with all people. You will find out that I love history, especially family history that dates back to the 1630's as Massachusetts Bay Colonists. I am single and have a grown daughter and grandson that lives out of town. I have two female sister shetland sheepdogs that are almost 4 years old and a total joy to be with.
Greg DeLong purchased this Apartment in 1987
Why Greg DeLong chose Gainesville
Looking for peace and quiet and enjoy what nature has to offer, look no further. This estate is 1.5 acres located within the Alachua County Conservation Area. If you are a birder, this area is a migratory bird path. You will not only see water birds, but also eagle, osprey, hawks and bard owls.
What makes this Apartment unique
The apartment is filled with artwork produced by my parents who founded the Jacksonville Watercolor Society. The furnishing are first class with historical artifacts throughout. It's almost like a museum.

I would love to come back here and stay again that’s the best recommendation that I can give
Apartment was as pictured and so clean! Loved the watercolors and pottery artwork! Beds were comfortable and very private.
The grounds surrounding the property are beautiful. Inside the decor is filled with rich history and character. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly!
Nice N Quiet
The owner Greg was very accommodating and showed us around nicely. The property is well wooded and very quiet out of the way from the hustle and bustle.
Great little gem
I would definitely recommend this if you are staying in Gainesville. Greg was very nice with tons of knowledge and history of the place. The property was very clean and super cozy. It was a great place to stay wish I had a longer time there.
Peace and serenity amongst beauty
I very much enjoyed my stay here. I came to recover from an illness and Greg’s place (and hospitality) made me feel better. There’s something very peaceful and healing about it - perhaps it’s bexause Native American Indians used to live here or perhaps it’s the close proximity to the lake. Either way it was so worth it, esp. moseying over to the lakefront beach each evening as the sun waned. Saw lots of wildlife of all kinds, including Ospreys catching fish for their offspring.
First class accommodations and first class hospitality - Greg is a wonderful person and host.
The Live Butterfly Exhibit at the Museum of Natural History is a must see on the UF Campus. Cade Museum is downtown Gainesville. The Hippodrome State Theater is also downtown. The University of Florida is 7 miles West of the apartment. Check out Visit Gainesville, Alachua County: https://www.visitflorida.com/en-us/listing.a0t40000007ulOTAAY.html
