About the property

This beautifully presented first floor apartment is located within easy reach of Edinburgh City Centre and all of its attractions, from the museums through the shopping on Princes Street and onto the many bars and restaurants in the area. It’s just a short bus or tram ride, or a pleasant 15 minute walk to Princes Street, which is nestled in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle and the world famous Royal Mile. You will be based in an ideal location to explore Scotland's Capital City.

In the opposite direction, another fifteen minute walk will take you straight to Murrayfield Rugby Stadium, home to some of Scotland's most impressive and memorable sporting events. Access to some beautiful sheltered walks along the Water of Leith down to Stockbridge and beyond, is just a couple of hundred metres away.

Bus services to and from the city are also available, and are very frequent. Haymarket Train Station is just a 2 minute walk away from the apartment, for those arriving by rail. And for those arriving by plane, the airport's fantastic Airlink bus service will pick you up directly outside the terminal and stops at Haymarket Train Station, as does the new modern Tram System.

The living room features a 42 inch flat screen TV, with dvd player. The whole apartment benefits from wireless broadband internet access and a good selection of TV channels.

This is a great apartment for a family of four or a group of 4 friends visiting the city. There is plenty of space to settle in and enjoy a break and we have created a great space with bright and airy rooms, contemporary interior design along with all the modern appliances you may need.

Great home base while touring Edinburgh and surrounding area

This apartment is located very close to the Haymarket Station; very convenient as we took the tram from the airport into Edinburgh. A very nice gentleman met us with the keys and to show us around the apartment. He was very patient and waited for us when our tram got stuck and we arrived a bit later than expected. He recommended a nice restaurant (A Room in the West End) that was a short walk away. We had a delicious fish dinner with lovely service. This was much appreciated after a long two days of traveling from the USA. The outside door entrance is unmarked and very unassuming. The apartment is located up a couple of flights of stairs; there is no lift. (Our greeter helped us carry the bags up.) The hallway is dingy and VERY dimly lit. Not a great first impression. The apartment itself was nice and clean. The bed linens were fresh and the bed was very comfortable. Since there were only two of us, we stayed in the master bedroom with the king bed. (Management asked us ahead of time if we wanted a king or two twins in that room.) We used the second bedroom for storage and dressing. The pictures on the web site are accurate. We stayed for five nights and really enjoyed having a home base for all the activities the city has to offer. The living room has comfy couches with nice throws to cuddle up with. We did not use the TV, but we enjoyed the nice sound system to listen to music. In the photos you will see large bookcases in the living room. Please note that these are covered with locked clear glass cupboards - so you can see but not touch/read the books. There is small washing machine in the kitchen and a drying rack, iron and ironing board that you can use. Kitchen looked to be pretty well equipped. We did not cook, but did use the microwave for breakfasts. There is a cafe right outside the apartment building for coffee and breakfast, but we did not go there. The freezer is in serious need of defrosting. The kitchen has a counter and a couple of stools. The electrical outlets there provided the perfect place to recharge our phones. The bathroom is up a step. Not a problem for us, but be careful not to fall in the middle of the night. The bathroom is pretty tiny, but there is storage for your toiletries. The shower was great and hot water plentiful. We thought one bath sheet and one hand towel per person for a five night stay was pretty skimpy. The biggest problem was that the lock on the outside door is VERY difficult to open. We would stay here again.
