Loved it....!

The Osprey cabin is in an outstanding location, the area looked stunning during our stay in November with the snowy mountains and the autumn colours. Chris the guy were you get your logs from, was very helpful. The cabin itself is beautifully furnished and comfortable throughout and has a well equipped kitchen. Even with 6 adults and 2 dogs there was plenty of room. Make sure to visit the Kilchrenan Inn, its about 7 miles away and serves locally produced pub meals at a good price its run by a friendly couple who make you feel welcome, we even talked to the farmer who supplies the beef.

great base with all you need

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin to stay in an amazing location. Everything works and had all we needed for a weeks stay. There is very close access to loch edge to kayak around plus the surrounding roads and forest areas are perfect for mountain biking. We had a meal in the community bar which was ideal and then stayed for the quiz. Would recommend anyone who likes the outdoors and doesn't want a butler fussing over them then this place is for you. We saw eagles , kingfisher , red squirrels plus lots of other wildlife.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay. Next time you stay try leaving bread and jam out to attract the Pine Martens.

The log cabin was excellent, lovely view over loch

  • 5 of 5

The property (Log cabin) was superb, it is fully geared to allow yourself self catering with as much facilities as your normal home. All of cabin was clean, warm and well maintained. Views over loch Awe were stunning and weather was also in our favour.

Due to ourselves arriving late we had taken a small stock of food, this is something I would advise future visitors to do if arriving late and out of season.

The family who meet and greet are very helpful and it was great to tap into there local knowledge.

I would have no hesitation in recommending friends. My stay was fantastic.

Our log cabins are ideally located to explore the highlands and islands of the west coast of Scotland. There are many attractions within a short drive from Dalavich. To follow is a list of local attractions that we would recommend visiting.

•Oban – Nearest large town, approx 23 miles away. Often referred to as the gateway to the Isles, from where ferries sail to Mull, Iona, Staffa & Colonsay.

•Seafari & Sealife Adventures both do excellent sight seeing, wildlife and whale watching trips from Seal Island, near Oban.

•Cruachan hollow mountain power station. 40 minutes from Dalavich, a great tour around the workings of the hydro power station within the mountain. Good trip for a rainy day.

•Oban Sea Life Centre and Seal Sanctuary. Approx 45 mins from Dalavich. A great day out for all the family.

•Loch Awe Smokery, near Taynuilt. Fun trip and good food.

•Kilmartin House Museum. Find out more about the areas history & archaeology. Award winning restaurant.

•Inverary Castle and Jail.

•Glencoe, Fort William & Ben Nevis are also close enough for a day trip.

•Horse Riding at Achnalarig Farm And Stables, Glencruitten, Nr Oban.

•Other local attractions include Bonawe Iron Works, West Highland Railway (from Fort William), Crinan Canal & Oban Distillery. Keep an eye out for locally advertise Ceilidhs and Highland Games in the summer months.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of the many things to do in the area. There is additional tourist information within all our log cabins.
