Situated on the top 2 floors (2nd and 3rd), overlooking one of the resort pools and pool bar, and commanding views over the spectacular Ponta Preta Bay, this 3 bed 2.5 bath penthouse apartment has everything you need for a truly relaxing stay on the sun-kissed shores of Sal Island, Cape Verde.

The 133 square metres (approx. 1,430 sq ft) of internal accommodation comprises 2 double bedrooms (1 with an en-suite bathroom) and a twin bedroom together with a double sofa bed, a family bathroom and a large open plan living room / kitchen area.

There are also large terraces on both levels, totalling 87 square metres, stretching the entire length of the property and giving ample space to enjoy the sun on the upper level all day. The lower level terrace provides some shelter from the sun which is very (very) strong in Cape Verde so don't forget to pack your sunscreen!!

All bedding and towels are provided (just bring a towel for the beach) and the fully equipped kitchen has everything from fridge freer, washing machine, and dishwasher to crockery, glasses, and cutlery.

You'll find Paradise Beach has wide open spaces of gardens and low density construction which is quite unusual for Sal. This is a new resort, and so still relatively quiet in relation to most, so a perfect place to come for a relaxing break away from it all whilst only a short taxi ride away from the hustle and bustle of Santa Maria with it's lively bars and restaurants.

I just love Sal - it's the perfect place to go to escape the British winter with it's year-round sunshine and I find I've relaxed into the pace of life over there after just a few hours.

What makes this apartment unique

Same climate as the Caribbean but without the hurricanes, only half the time to get there and no jet lag!!

Windsurfing and kitesurfing is big on the island - even if you don't do either yourself it's fun to watch them ride the waves....I think it's probably a lot more difficult than some of them make it look!

Notes:
Paradise Beach is not yet fully completed. It is split into north and south areas - my apartment is situated in the completed south side but this part is still fairly quiet most of the time. All heavy building work is completed on the north side but the buildings are not yet fitted out. There is a bar / restaurant in the resort and a small convenience store, although these are not currently open all the time - seasonal and depending on the number of people in the resort. Additional facilities are to be constructed but as yet plans have not been finalised and no date is set for works to start. The management of the resort will keep disruption to a minimum during the build when it does happen.

Fantastic holiday in an amazing apartment. The views are also fabulous .

This beautiful apartment is well equipped and so luxurious and comfortable . Well kitted out kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine and all so spacious in the dining , lounge kitchen area . There are two fabulous terraces . The bottom terrace has table and chairs, sofas and we just loved the hanging chairs ! The top terrace has loads of lounging chairs for sunbathing or chilling with a cocktail whilst watching the amazing sunsets .Great size bedrooms and with a main bathroom, ensuite to the main bedroom and there is a downstairs toilet so loads of facilities if you have a house full !. The owner was so helpful prior to arriving re where to go and all was arranged perfectly for when we arrived . A great holiday , we will be back !

Really nice appartement, spacious and comfortable

We had a great stay in paradise beach resort, the appartement is perfect, just like the picture. Beautiful sunset, and also a lot of times island was without water or electricity, but at our place it always worked. Incase you go for a longer stay, definitely reccomand car rental. The apartment is a little too far away from everything to walk. For short stay taxi is easy and cheap. Overall very good stay and Rob was very helpful and good with communication. Thank you!

Paradise Beach Penthouse

Love love the penthouse the view of the ocean is beautiful.

It would be nice if you had a welcome letter to say don't drink tap water buy bottle water, few taxi phone numbers,what do you in a emergency contacts numbers.

I know came in low season but it would be nice if lift was working.

I will come back in your busy season to see what it is like

Huge, fist class penthouse and the seaview is awesome

Booking and communication was very easy with the portal and the owner. We were a group of two couples. We booked two add on packages (pick up from and drop off at airport). Even there was no sign with our names at the airport after arrival, we had to wait only 5 minutes till a driver was organised after we called the contact number given in the provided information. We were informed before arrival that the complex is not completely finished and that some of the pools are under maintenance so it was no surprise for us that you see a construction area at the entrance from inland side. Arrival and check in went very well. First look in the penthouse (don't call it apartment as it is much bigger than that) was awesome and we never changed this mind. Everything is very clean and the management of the property has everything under control. A small problem with the drainage at one bathroom was fixed easily and real quick.

They complex itself wasn't full at all when we arrived but more guests arrived as we were getting closer to Easter holiday. At least one restaurant in the complex close by to the apartment was open and the food there was very tasty. At least 3 pools had water and we could see that the water quality is regularly controlled and maintained. The whole complex has a good architecture and is well maintained. Even it was our plan to have a relaxed stay with friends we tried a couple activities. Close by to the complex there is an all in hotel that you have everything from scuba diving to dune buggies. We tried an offer for horse riding directly at the beach. Everything has a reasonable price so you can't go wrong with the choice. The horses were well trained and in good health condition. The guide was experienced and friendly. In walking distance of the apartment there is a very good strand restaurant on a very nice sandy beach called ponta preta. To the center of Santa Maria we always took a taxi which was 4 to 5 Euro and a fixed price. It is said that Santa Maria is the most touristic place of the cape verdes but nobody is bothering you, pulling you into a shop. Everything is polite and a No is accepted. Shopping is very easy once you know the shops. Our hot spot was the kite beach. There are a lot of different kite schools on the island but we found our choice with Titik was an excellent one. One day we rented a 4WD to see the whole island. We'll definitely come back; we see not all is perfect but people are friendly.

great appartment

We have just returned from 11 days in this appartment in Paradise Beach. It was everything we needed for a relaxing break in the sun. the weather was fantastic, sunnier than we had expected for this time in January.(sunny and 27C)

The appartment is very spacious and well equipped.The penthouse has a view of the sea and the well attended gardens. The pool nearest to the apparment was under repair, but in no way did this effect our holiday, as there were three other pools to choose from. The beach is only minutes from the appartment and we had some lovely walks in both directions.The area is great for water sports and although we did not partake, it was fun to watch the kite surfers. It was easy to walk to Santa Maria along the beach (35mins) and there was always plenty of taxis to bring us home again after dinner in the town. The town has a very varied selection of restaurants. We loved the fact that the town has retained its Capeverdian personality. We particularly enjoyed the local musicians.

The staff at the resort are friendly and helpful, in giving us advise about the island, ordering taxis, or booking vehicle rental.

We hired a scooter and spent the day seeing the sights on the island, great fun.

The little Minimart was great for essentials and fresh bread for breakfast.

Rob's information about the appartment, the resort and the island was very useful and everything was exactly as adertised. I would recommend the appartment and the island of Sal for a break in the sun.

I'm hoping the pool in front of the apartment will be repaired soon - understand the resort is currently waiting for materials to be imported - but the alternative pools are very close in the meantime. Paradise Beach is a new resort around 2.5 km outside of Santa Maria which is the main tourist centre on the island of Sal. A taxi from the resort into town costs about €4 during the day (€5 after 8pm) or you can walk either along the road or beach route. It's right next door to the Dunas resort which opened in November 2014 and is situated on Ponta Preta beach.

A short walk along the beach to the south brings you to a hot-spot for wind / kitesurfers and jet skiers near some rocks jutting out into the sea and just after that you'll find the beachfront Restaurant Ponta Preta - a wooden building serving some lovely food with a superb view across the beach and out to sea. This stretch of beach, and the sand dunes behind, are protected from further development to preserve the habitat for the turtles who come here to lay their eggs every year.

Also available on Sal is fishing - if you go into Santa Maria mid morning you will likely see the catch coming in on the jetty. All sorts of interesting looking fish and sea creatures that will be served up in the local restaurants. If you like to go fishing yourself you can - deep sea fishing excursions are advertised in many places.

If it's land-based activity you're after there's quad-biking and cycling and there are trips available around the island up through the island's capital, Espargos. You'll find varied coastal scenery from the white sand beaches and turquoise waters in the south and west to the more harsh and rugged eastern coast where you can walk in the ocean with Lemon sharks.

There is also the old salt works to see and you can bathe in the salt waters below sea level in the crater of an extinct volcano at Pedra Lume.

Or, if your idea of a holiday is something a little more relaxing, enjoy the balconies of my apartment or the pool at Paradise Beach resort or one of the beautiful beaches and just soak up the sun whilst sipping a cold drink...as the locals will tell you...'No Stress'

For bookings of 6 nights or less an additional cleaning charge of £45 is payable

Air-conditioning is also available for an additional cost of £50 per week, although this should only be required during the months of August, September and early October. There are air conditioning units in each of the 3 bedrooms and the living room.

Please also note, there is a tourist tax in Cape Verde payable by all visitors (over the age of 16) at all types of accommodation. The cost is €2 per person per night - capped at 10 nights. It is the responsibility of resort managers to collect so, as a result, this will be due on arrival at Paradise Beach.
