Great time in a wonderful house

  • 5 of 5

I was in this house the second time now and both vacation weeks were great!!

The beautiful view from the breakfast table makes the day already. What to say more ... ?

The rooms are very nice and make a very relaxing atmosphere, the equipment is complete.

Besides wonderful relaxing at the pool we had some walks at the coast, did motorbike riding on the coaststreets and into the mountains, and we visited the surrounding towns on the french an spanish side of the border.

I am sure we will come back sometimes with friends again.

Cliona's support is perfect.

Thanks Cliona and husband!

Lovely, well appointed villa

  • 5 of 5

The villa is large and has everything you might need. The AC in the bedrooms was particularly welcome at night but the mountain breezes keep the living areas cool in the day. The pool was a good size and was very clean. We enjoyed lazing by the pool, did some great hikes up the mountain frorm the villa, visited the local beaches which were pretty but stony. Take some beach shoes! We went over the border in to Spain and we visited Colliore, get there early if you go by car.

The only slight drawback is that the nearest decent supermarket is a very windy 20 mins away by car. But there is a little supermarket in the village which will do for essentials. We ate out several times but were particularly impressed with Bout du Monde. Make sure you reserve though. Cliona was great and was very welcoming. An excellent week

Magnifique !

  • 5 of 5

Stunning Villa

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in this beautifully furnished villa, .. if you ever needed a rest away from the maddening crowds this is the place to be ..

Outside .. wherever you look the scenery is simply stunning and the pool is lovely temperature always, the layered garden has many secluded areas and all sorts of wonderful plants including a pomegranate tree?.. the car port is secure and the location is very safe

Inside the rooms are very nicely furnished and very comfortable ..

Cliona and Roger are always at hand and were excellent looking after us ..

we flew in via Barcelona - which is only around 2 hours away and has excellent connections

thoroughly recommend this place

You would definitely need a car to stay here

Lovely modern villa tucked away in the hills above sleepy Cerbere. A hidden corner of the Med.

  • 4 of 5

We were two families with teenage children, a total of 8. The Villa is bright, modern, clean, comfortable and well equipped for 8 guests.

Tucked away above Cerbere it's not easy to find on arrival! Very peaceful surroundings with lovely views to the sea and mountains and the unusual train station (you can't hear the comings & goings). Cerbere was once an important stop over for passengers traveling to Spain and has an interesting historical story. The 1920s Art Deco Belvedere Hotel is a reminder of the towns heyday.

It's a 10/15 minute walk downhill to town. Cerbere is a very small village just a patisserie, small supermarket, a couple of beach type shops, tourist info and 2/3 cafes/restaurants. The beach is unspoiled and it was nice to swim from for the children with pontoons etc. Good snorkelling as the water is crystal clear. Water shoes needed as stones are sharp. Lovely little inlet beaches around the bay, we liked the one by the La Vigie hotel best.

We also snorkelled at the marine reserve between Cerbere and Banyul - well organised and cheap to hire equipment at 4/5 euros each. We travelled to Argeles, 40 mins, for some activities for the children- airpark similar to Go ape, other activities available canyoning and water slides all seemed well organised. The beach area was surprisingly unspoiled.

Collioure is nearby, 30 mins, and well worth a visit, touristy and busy, we took the train as parking is difficult. We drove into Spain to visit Figueres and the Dali Museum about 45 mins. We also took the children to Aquabrava a water park in Roses, Spain. The adults had lunch & spent the day on the beach at Santa Margarita, a nice Spanish resort town.

We had good weather throughout, it can change in minutes, hot sun then cloud and high winds.

The big Carrefour supermarket in Banyuls is good and takes 20 mins to drive to. Banyuls has more going on than Cerbere but still fairly unspoiled.

The owners were responsive to any issues we had during our stay and had anticipated most of our needs. We could have done with a bigger fridge in the kitchen and some long drinking glasses but that's just small stuff, we coped!
