About Richard Britton
Paula and I live in Cyprus and have been visiting and living in Little Reef over the last 35 years with our family. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Richard Britton purchased this Apartment in 1981
Why Richard Britton chose Derricks
This is a family property which my late father bought when he was working in Barbados. He spent up to 4 or 5 months living in it every year and he last visited in 2013 when he was in his 99th year. The property has been used by 4 generations of our family and is much loved by all, as is the island of Barbados and its people.
What makes this Apartment unique
Little Reef is thought of with affection by all members of our family, because of its location on a beautiful white sand bay untouched by commercialism, and the many happy vacations spent there. The perfect place for chilling out.

Little Reef is awesome!
We just returned from our second stay at Little Reef. We were there last year and loved it so much we came back. The location and privacy are amazing! Right on the beach, private patio, less than 15 steps from the water. The apartment is perfect for one couple, or even 4 people. Plenty spacious with 2 full baths and bedrooms. Kitchen is fully equipped to stock up on groceries and eat in...which we like to do. Lots of great restaurants nearby as well if you'd prefer to go out. The owner, Richard, is great with communication and was very accommodating to any questions or needs we had. The caretaker, Grantley, is very friendly and very quick to help if you need anything during your stay. If you're planning a trip to Barbados, I highly recommend staying at Little Reef. You won't be disappointed.
Everything we expected and more. Thankyou Richard and Paula
Wonderful beachfront paradise
We wanted to right on the beach with an amazing view and this place exceeded our expectations. With the entire wall of beach facing windows opening up wide, and another door to the side with a view down the beach, it was a gorgeous panoramic view. The water was so close, you could hear the sounds of the waves from every room, even with all the windows and doors closed. The (narrow) beach was beautiful, local, quiet and a seaglass-gatherer's paradise. The bedrooms had ice-cold AC if you want to cool off. Its location was very central, so if you rent a car you can get anywhere in the island in under 40 minutes.
Breath taking view
The view is to die for, all basic needs are supplied but the noise from the highway disturbing. Would recommend in a hart beat.
Imagine waking up every morning to the many aqua and turquoise shades of the Caribbean Sea. Imagine seeing beautiful Caribbean sunsets every night. Imagine walking down the stairs and out the gate, and there you are on the beach. No need to imagine - these breathtaking sights can be yours if you stay at Little Reef (upstairs) in Fitts Village! This was our third time staying in Barbados but the first time on the west coast. It is calm and so beautiful. It was lovely to see the many sailboats during the day and the lit up cruise ships leaving Bridgetown at night. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable. The views are incredible. There were three of us in our early 70s (one with bad knees), and the stairs were no problem. I communicated with Richard many times before our stay. He always responded promptly and was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend staying here!
Stunning beach location !!!
Just returned from our second stay at Little Reef upper apartment and had an absolutely fabulous time. We just love
the location, only steps from the beautiful beach with breathtaking views and super snorkelling!!! The apartment is perfect for us, spacious and well equipped. Can’t wsut to return 😎
Fitts Village is predominantly a residential area virtually untouched by commercialism. For golfers there are 5 courses within half an hour's drive, including 3 courses at Sandy Lane and the Royal Westmoreland only 5 minutes away. A short trip along the road to Holetown brings you to the Chattel houses, which contain local arts and crafts for sale - and for non- shoppers you can have a coffee and read the paper. For divers the West Side Scuba Centre is in the same location
The Earthworks Pottery, which is only a 15/20 minute drive way is well worth a visit. Speightstown, with its historic buildings - some dating back to soon after the first settlement of Barbados - is 15/20 minutes beyond Holetown. Bridgetown, which is a short trip by bus or car, also has historic buildings, the beautiful Carenage where boats moor, fish and vegetable markets, good shops, and for cricket lovers the Kensington Oval.
