A truly delightful chalet to rent for a week or maybe just a weekend in La Tzoumaz Chalet Haute Vue is situated only 500m from the main piste. If you prefer to save all your energy for the slopes, you’ll be pleased to note that you can virtually see the free ski-bus stop from the window. The chalet has been charmingly decorated to feel really cosy and comfortable. Here you can truly sink into the mountain atmosphere and enjoy traditional evenings with family and friends around the open fireplace.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
This four-bedroom chalet comfortably sleeps up to 8 people and one further small child in three large double bedrooms and a twin bedroom. The twin bedroom has a sloping roof and an extra fold-out mattress to sleep a further small child if necessary. There are two bathrooms, one with shower and one with bath and overhead shower. If you wish to travel with children under 2 years old, just let us know and we will provide a cot and a high chair in your chalet.
The main floor of this large chalet is an open kitchen/living/dining area with open fireplace and toasty underfloor heating. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need for family catering, including a dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, oven and hob. There are fondue and raclette sets for a traditional Swiss evening in front of the log fire. Washing machine, hairdryer, iron and portable outdoor gas barbecue are all available for you to use. The entrance area is specially-designed to store all of your ski wear and boots, helping you to keep all your snow-sports clothing and equipment dry and organised.
It’s hard not to relax when you are surrounded by La Tzoumaz’ stunning panoramic views and pretty snowflakes gently drifting past the window. On a blue-sky day, the view stretches 20km, from the floor of the Rhone Valley up to the peaks of the Haut de Cry and the Mont Gond, and in the other direction towards the legendary Vallon d’Arby and its un-pisted ski itinerary. Take a seat in a comfy chair with a glass of local wine at the end of a hard day on the slopes. If you are in need of distraction, there is a flat-screen TV with international channels and a DVD collection.
Chalet Haute Vue is equipped with high-speed WIFI for your own private use during your stay.
We’re sorry but this is a pet-free property. Please browse our selection of pet-friendly rentals if you would like to travel with your pet.
Parking for 2 cars outside the chalet. Winter tyres and/or snow chains necessary in winter due to frequent snow falls. Alternative parking is available on the main road, 170m from the property. Contact us for railway or airport transfers.
The chalet is only 400m from the main piste that descends into La Tzoumaz, so you can either walk (uphill in the morning and downhill in the evening) or catch the free ski bus. The ski-bus will pick you up 100m from the door and whisk you the 2km to the Savoleyres telecabin in a matter of minutes. This modern, high-speed telecabin carries you from La Tzoumaz up to the top of the Savoleyres in less than 8 minutes, from where you can decide to ski back on the quiet La Tzoumaz slopes or ski down to Verbier’s legendary slopes and world-class off-piste opportunities in the vast 4-Valleys ski area.

In summer, the area turns into a hiking and mountain biking paradise, with hundreds of kilometres of marked trails criss-crossing the mountains, awash with alpine flowers and a range of wildlife to spot. The “Bisses” are relatively flat footpaths that follow the water as it trickles around the mountainsides, where for centuries farmers and villagers channelled the streams for their own uses. They have been preserved now and can be an incredible way to spend a day or more on easy hikes with stunning views across the Rhone Valley or over to the Massif des Combins. We’ll provide you with plenty of tourist information including our favourite suggestions for day trips that are easily reachable from La Tzoumaz, from spectacular gorge walks, cheese factories and roman festivals to rainy-day ideas such as underground lake tours. The road that winds up the mountain-top to the panoramic Croix-de-Coeur Cafe-Restaurant opens as soon as the snow melts and from here you can continue the drive (or cycle) all the way down into Verbier.
In the peak summer season from early July to late August, the telecabin link to Verbier operates daily from 08:45 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 16:45, meaning that you can easily access the famous resort as a pedestrian or accompanied by your bicycle. You can even use a variety of mountain lifts to make your way up to Mont Fort at 3300m for Europe’s highest fondue and incredible mountain panoramas that include Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn. Don’t miss the Swiss National Celebrations in La Tzoumaz on August 1st, or the famous festival of live music performances, the Verbier Festival, which runs from mid-July to the beginning of August.
La Tzoumaz Chalet Haute Vue
We are Percy and Anna Kirkman, and we live in La Tzoumaz all year round, love outdoor sports, and are passionate about the beauty and opportunities of the region. We are fluent in both English and French. Originally from England, we both followed international careers within Procter & Gamble before making a life-changing move to the mountains at the end of 2013. We believe we are the most customer-focused professional holiday rental agency here in the resort, and we work hard year-round to find ways to improve our services to you as holidaymakers.
We believe the region of La Tzoumaz is magical. It has access to some of the best skiing in Europe, hundreds of kilometres of majestic hiking, fantastic mountain bike trails, wonderful family footpaths, and is a delight to live in all year round. We want to help other people to enjoy La Tzoumaz all year round, both now and into the future.
The chalet is nestled above the village of La Tzoumaz, close enough to reach the centre, but far enough out to feel pleasantly remote.
The outlook down the valley is spectacular.
Inside the chalet the facilities are very good: the property was very clean and we had plenty of hot running water. The main room is lovely with plenty of room for 7 adults. The kitchen is excellently equipped and well laid out. Bedrooms are also spacious although the 4th has quite low ceilings.
One piece of advise is to bring a car if possible. Haute Vue can feel slightly remote and taxi services for La Tzoumaz are limited.
The versatile resort of La Tzoumaz is nestled just over the back of Verbier’s Mount Savoleyres with access to all of the famous Verbier 4-Valleys slopes and off-piste areas in winter. In summer, the mountains become a paradisaical network of hiking trails and mountain-bike routes, with something for every taste. From La Tzoumaz you can ride the same legendary pistes and powder bowls, but accommodation prices are only a fraction of those in Verbier itself! Every property is prepared to high standards and each has a stunning panoramic view of the mountains and valley. The resort is only 1h45 from Geneva Airport, and transfers can be arranged on request. We live in the resort year-round and are on hand to welcome you on your arrival and to help you with anything you might need to know or arrange, whether before, during or after your stay. If we’re not in the office, we’ll gladly take your call even if we’re out enjoying the biking, hiking or skiing for ourselves…
