The property has outside lights both on the property and over in the hanger / open barn. It boasts electric gates and a beautiful private courtyard with a plumb tree and a fig tree. The Hanger has a magnificent open fire, fantastic for those cosy evenings with romantic lighting from lanterns and side lamps on the fireplace. The fire doubles up into a BBQ so once you've finished bbq ing you can throw your logs on, sit on the cozy settee's and enjoy the atmosphere and play snooker or pool... Enjoy

Wonderful, clean place. Outside area is amazing :)

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent the most amazing 2 week at this wonderful property. This was our first time to the area and it certainly won’t be our last. La Vieille Grange was just perfect in every way, Jackie, your attention to detail throughout is just fantastic and really is a credit to you. The house is of an exceptional standard, and spotlessly clean. It was definitely an added bonus to be in the village with a small supermarket offering the most delicious local produce and a bakery where we had fresh baguettes and cakes every morning!

When we could drag ourselves away from the river, a short stroll away where we spent many super hours, with pic-nice benches and swimming, we visited some fantastic local attractions. Two highlights for us were visiting the beautiful medival Sarlat, watching the street entertainers bring the place alive, watching families like us enjoying the atmosphere and the amazing open market Saturdays and Wednesdays. The second would be visiting nearby town of Domme on market day, with the exceptional views and hot air ballon floating by, we loved it! Have to say lots to keep teenagers entertained - caneoing, river swimming, chateaux and castles. The area is great for cycling with quiet well maintained roads and tracks.

To summarise, we really couldn't recommend this property or this area enough, we are home with some amazing memories of a fantastic family holiday. Thank you so much for the opportunity of staying in your beautiful property, you made us feel so welcome and we will definitely be back when the opportunity arises!

Beautiful, quiet, attractively updated, in small walkable village

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here. Had three separate families within the family; each had our own room and bath. There was an additional sweet room with two single beds for the two children. Good TV for World Cup watching. Big former hangar with pool table and lolling couches and many games from previous tenants. Short walk to river with small playground and easy swimming. Only complaint was absence of a few kitchen utensils (garlic press), not terribly sharp knives, only one (thin) potholder, but these are minor.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review and all your lovely comments. We're very pleased you enjoyed your stay in the beautiful Dordogne region and our lovely pretty village of Daglan! Sorry about the garlic press and thank you for pointing this out we will certainly replace it as clearly it's not there now. The 'potholder' I think you might mean pan stand. The extra pans are placed in the base cupboard as yes the pan stand only holds 4 pans and a frying pan. Thank you so much for your helpful comments ! Our very best wishes to you and your family !

We have just spent the most amazing week at this fantastic property. The barn is of an excellent standard and spotlessly clean. There is nothing else we could have wanted during our stay. Well-equipped and pretty home, Very high spec, fantastic courtyard with outdoor barn with relaxing settees, huge pool table, open fire/BBQ simply amazing evenings we spent under there. We were two families, worked very well for us. The beds were extremely comfortable with quality bedding, roomy bathrooms with v good showers, The fab kitchen, everything you could need, wifi for the kids and an abundance of movies for young and old.... We loved our stay here and highly recommend it. The village is beautiful and being able to buy fresh bread every morning was wonderful. Three restaurants in the village, a small supermarket and a bar, not to mention the tennis courts, everything you could want for your holiday. lots to keep teenagers entertained - caneoing, lake swimming, chateaux and castles. The area is also great for cycling.

Jackie was a lovely host, not intrusive but helpful when we needed some guidance. One of our best vacations ever! We have already booked for next year!

Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic 10 days - everything was perfect. The house was of such a high standard and the outside sitting area was great! A bottle of local wine sat next to the fire was a idyllic way to spend an evening!

Daglan is ideal - very friendly, only a few minutes walk to the river one way (which dog loved!) and few minutes walk to the boulangerie the other way. We were spoilt for choice with 3 restaurants all within 5 minutes walk.......our favourite being the relaxed cafe where we ate almost every night!

Jackie and Sally were brilliant- met us on day 1 showing is where everything was. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful house, lovely place and near to a lot of other lovely places!

  • 5 of 5

House was ideal for us - just the right amount and sort of spaces, indoor and out, and everything catered for. The village itself is excellent, with all of the key facilities within a short walk, and a very pleasant atmosphere. And the distances to a lot of wonderful sites and sights are very manageable, so we were able to do everything we wanted to do with the minimum of fuss. Altogether an excellent place to stay - the only problem was we were only able to manage one week!
