Beautiful Property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the property for a long weekend with our family. The house is beautiful, everything is catered for and the location is a 10 minute walk to Newcastle city centre over the bridge. I would highly recommend this property for exploring Newcastle and the surrounding area. Being able to park was a bonus, but, once there, the car wasn't used.

Perfect apartment for our family reunion

  • 5 of 5

The perfect apartment for our family reunion in Gateshead and it was so well equipped we were able to have a celebration dinner there. The bedroom and living room furnishings were very high quality and the entire apartment was decorated and equipped to an excellent standard. Nigel welcomed us and was then available should we have had any problems - which we didn't. He also provided us with local information - nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely want to return.

Comfy house, great location, excellent facilities.

  • 5 of 5

Kenilworth is a great location for a stay in Newcastle/Gateshead. Monday comfy house with all mod cons, and very helpful welcome from Nigel and Michelle. Stones throw from the High level Bridge to get direct into the centre of Newcastle. Big Tescos 5 mins walk away for all your self catering needs; and 2 great real ale pubs (Station East & Central) even nearer!

Great stay for 6 adults to meet up for weekend.

  • 5 of 5

We were greeted by Nigel informing us all about the house then left knowing we could contact him if needed.

Very close to High Bridge, The Sage and Art Museum. Impressed how clean and rubbish free this area was.

We walked everywhere but buses and taxis plentiful also met friends at train station which was about 10/15 minutes walk back to house.

We would revisit Newcastle and use this accomodation again.

Very nice property and great location

  • 5 of 5

The townhouse was beautifully decorated and absolutely everything anyone could want, was provided. Tea,coffee ,sugar ,even fresh milk was there on our arrival. It is a 10min walk to the Quayside via the Swing Bridge and about the same distance to the Castle and Newcastle City via the Swing Bridge The Quayside offers great restaurants and bars and the best hot chocolate ever at the Baltic cafe! The property owner Nigel, was extremely accommodating and there was loads of tourist information for those who do not know the area The house can sleep 6 people comfortably but 2 flights of stairs to the master bedroom may be a little difficult for seniors. The pictures of the property were all accurate

Overall ,a great reasonably priced property.

Car: not necessary

Newcastle the capital of the North East is a vibrant destination with lots to offer every visitor whether on business or pleasure. What is even better it is only 3 hours from Kings Cross London & 1.5 hours from Waverly Station Edinburgh by train & only a short walk to the business & City centre.

World-class culture, heritage & architecture are only a few minutes away; with a beautiful coastline & countryside nearby. Award winning restaurants & bars await you & so does some retail therapy not only Europe's largest indoor shopping & leisure complex the 'Metro Centre', but also more locally at Eldon Square & Eldon Gardens so you can “shop til you drop”.

If it is music & theatre you are interested in Newcastle Theatre Royal or Sunderland Empire provide productions from the West End, Comedy & Drama to suit everyone's taste. The Metro Radio Arena & The Sage the stunning glass building on the Gateshead side of the river attract the most famous of artists & performers both old & new.

Some things to do & see during your stay:

A must. A stroll along the Quayside at day or night is not to be missed with its seven bridges including the Millennium Bridge, the world's first & only tilting bridge for pedestrians & cyclists, not forgetting the spectacular riverscape & it is only 5 minutes walk away.

Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art is an art-lovers dream. Don’t forget to stop for a drink on the top floor & admire the view of the River Tyne & watch the World go by.

St James Park a place of worship for 55,000 who support their local team Newcastle United & passionately referred to them as the 'Toon Army' or if you prefer the red & whites, the Stadium of Light in Sunderland. Not forgetting an alternative The Falcons for Rugby or Durham County Cricket Ground at the Riverside Chester- le- Street

Durham Cathedral another place of worship set in a historic beautiful market town & is listed as one of the World Heritage sites is only 10 minutes from Newcastle by train.

Sun, sand or sea Tynemouth Beaches were awarded prestigious Blue Flag status alongside other local beaches, so you can catch a wave or why not visit the 2000 year old Tynemouth Priory.

You can also take your pick from the many famous Castles, Museums & Heritage sites such as Hadrians Wall, Alnwick Castle & Gardens, Castle Keep, Great North Museum, Victoria Tunnel, Beamish Museum the living museum of the North Past, the Centre for Life, Gibside House, Wallington Hall to name but a few.

The North East of England has something & more to offer every visitor whatever you plan to do enjoy!
