Guestbook comments from the owner

I was returning to St monans with many happy childhood memories and this holiday did not disappoint. The cottage is situated on the coastal path and has the added benefit of a seating area outside. To be able to relax with your morning coffee and enjoy the view is an added bonus. The cottage itself has all mod cons and we found it very easy to find any thing we needed. It was lovely to have a wood burning stove in the kitchen which gave it a cosy feel. A washing machine was very handy after a busy day of rock pooling with the children.

St monans remains a beautiful and friendly fishing village and this fab cottage was the icing on a terrific break

Best property we have stayed in!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a week at this cosy and stylish property and can honestly say it really has been a delight to visit. Spacious and light filled accommodation with stunning views over the harbour and forth. Very well equipped and being a home from home. Lovely to come home to after a day sightseeing. Best cottage we have stayed in and will definitely come again. A credit to the owners. Super walks on the doorstep and great restaurant , Craig Millar, a stone’s throw from the cottage door. Lovely friendly staff in local Shop. Our dog loved it, too. Plus parking!

Fabulous stay couldn’t fault anything

  • 5 of 5

My Dad, sister and I had the best time and such a comfortable stay at Rockslea cottage. It is a beautiful home with everything you need and more. My sister is here from Australia visiting us and this week at St Monans was an extra special Wee break. We toured about all the various wee sea coast villages and St Andrews and also went to Glamis Castle. It was so lovely to come back to a cosy comfy home. It was as if my wee dog Poppy had lived there all her life she was so settled. Waking up to the views every morning gave you a lovely feeling that it was good to be alive. We were blessed with good weather which was great but I think in any weather it would have been great.

I would love to go back in the future.

Great time, great company beautiful cottage and location what else can you ask for.

Twas the Week Before Christmas.

  • 5 of 5

We're from the U.S. and this was our first visit to Scotland on the week before Christmas. Yes, this rental is every bit as beautiful as its photos. The windows have exquisite views of the sea and the local protected harbor. We were lucky in that one morning the dolphins were active in the harbor and putting on quite the show.

The cottage is immaculate, spacious and stocked with anything you could possibly need – all the creature comforts for evening coziness. Whenever we had a quick question we just emailed the owners and they got back to us immediately – very helpful.

St. Monans is a wonderful seaside village to stay in. The ultimate in quaint. The residents and owners take pride in preserving its history and charm. The bonus is the Fife Coastal Path goes right through St Monans. You can walk along the seashore north or south for a marathon walk or a simple stroll.

In addition to St Monans there are other equally charming villages along the shore in both directions. In particular we made a couple of trips a short ways to St Andrews to visit the ruin of the cathedral and just stroll along the shops of this vibrant college town. We took a day and drove the 2.5 hours up and back to take in the Highlands, a must trip in Scotland. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Realaxed, peaceful cosy stay in a beautiful setting.

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 days in a chilly November and we were cosy as pie. The cottage is beautiful throughout and view down towards the harbour was lovely. Beautiful little village, walking distance to shop and fabulous coffee shop. On the coastal path which was great as we had our dog with us and it was a safe place to walk her away from traffic. We also visited Ellie, Craig, Pittenween, Anstruther and St Andrews but St Monans was just lovely. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxed few days away.
