Comfortable & Peaceful
My wife and I were attending the funeral of a family member that lived in the area. Because it was so unexpected, our visit didn’t allow us time to really research places to stay. Also, we had to take our dogs with us because we couldn’t find anyone to keep them on such short notice. I knew most decent hotels don’t allow pets, so I began looking around on VRBO. I was looking for a 2 BR / 2 BA place but when I came across the 3 BR / 2 BA Potter House, I liked what I saw. Although it’s a fairly new listing, it looked and sounded like it was just what we needed so we went ahead and booked it. Within about five minutes of submitting our reservation request, we received confirmation. David Harper, the owner then contacted us a short time later with some more details on the house. He then followed up a couple of days later with the code to the lock box with the keys.
Upon our arrival in town, we followed our GPS and easily found the house. It is nestled in an established and quiet neighborhood. We pulled into the driveway and immediately found the house to be very inviting. Once we got inside, it felt like we were home. It is nicely furnished and decorated, but not too extravagant. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook a meal, minus the food. But if cooking isn’t your thing, there are several restaurants within a couple miles of the house. The fenced in backyard was a bonus for our dogs. They loved the backyard and just lying around on the back porch. If you’re staying a while, there’s a washer & dryer and even an iron & ironing board if you need it.
While the reason for our visit to North Augusta was to say goodbye to a family member, our stay at the Potter House was comfortable and a nice place to relax.
Thank you David Harper for you’re hospitality and allowing us to stay at your nice little gem of a place. If we need to return to North Augusta, we’ll definitely contact you first. We’ll also tell any family or friends that are traveling to the area to check out the Potter House.
The house is located in a quiet neighborhood that’s only a few minutes from restaurants and downtown Augusta.
A Great Home Away from Home
We had to evacuate the SC coast during the recent Dorian storm and managed to find this property in North Augusta. This home was nicely located in a quiet neighborhood, just a short drive across the bridge from downtown Augusta and the Riverwalk.
The owner's home has been very nicely updated and furnished. It was very comfortable for our family of three and one pet. There is a large outside deck with grill. The yard is fenced so great for a pet.
In short, it was a wonderful place to hole up, and if we visit Augusta again we'd happily return.
The owner, David Harper, was very accommodating and very pleasant to deal with.
