Situated overlooking the village of Drimiskos and the Libyan sea, with a backdrop of majestic mountains. From the house you can see the Island of Gavdos, the most southerly point in Europe. The house stands alone in its own large plot, surrounded by trees, secluded and private.
Situated in an unspoilt area with excellent local cuisine, it was recently described in a Guardian Newspaper article as “like stepping back in time.”
A two minute walk to the excellent Kafeneon and natural Springs.
There are 2 double bedrooms with views to the mountains at the side and back of the house and secluded terraces for outdoor dining, sunbathing & relaxing. The bedrooms are simply decorated with ample storage. Bedding (Linen) is provided. There is a modern, newly decorated bathroom with a small bath, a powerful shower, toilet and hand basin, this also houses the washing machine. A spacious comfortable lounge leads to outside terrace/dining area with views to the sea.
From the terraces you can relax and watch the sun set over the sea & Plakias mountain range, watch birds of prey hovering above, close your eyes and hear nothing but the nature around you. At night, you can lie outside and watch shooting stars and the incredible views of the Milky Way, which this area is famous for.
A further outside area has Olive and fruit trees, where you are welcome to pick lemons, oranges, mandarins, artichokes, almonds and other seasonal fruit & vegetables. There are mature grape vines with both white and black grapes. All this produce is organic.

Drimiscos in Southern Crete
This area of Crete was also featured in the Sunday Times “Beat a path to the heart of secret Crete” It is the area of coast between Agia Galini and Plakias.
Drimiscos is a traditional working village and provides the setting for a unique holiday experience and the ultimate place to unwind. With no large villages let alone towns nearby, the sky at night is a further revelation with a vast and dazzling canopy of stars, seemingly close enough to touch.
Apart from the occasional passing car, the village is amazingly peaceful and by day you can clearly hear the tinkling of goat bells on the nearby hillside. By night it’s even quieter and the sound of silence is almost tangible, save for the occasional soft hoot of a Skops Owl.
