About the property

Relaxing Home With 4 Bedrooms (2 King, 1 Double, 2 Single), Big Lounge, Dining.

The house is a large, 4 bedroom family home incorporating 2 king rooms (one en-suite), a double bedroom and a large room with two single beds. There is the option to convert the ground floor sung into a bedroom to with a double sofa bed to accommodate up to 10.

The grand lounge has a wood burning stove, reading corner and stunning views of the moor, ocean and village.

The dining room has a large, solid wood, 12 seater dining table made from the reclaimed railway sleepers from St. Pancras station when it was renovated to make room for the EuroStar terminal.

The kitchen is large and modern and there is a utility area and internal drying space for clothes or wet walkers/fisherman/adventurers.

The large, gallery hallway, is also a great space to grab a book and read in silence.

All our bedrooms and our dining room and snug are equipped with digital HD televisions.

There is a large bathroom with a walk in shower and slipper bath which also looks out over the ocean and loch.

There is a toilet located on the ground floor as well.

Outside the property there are 4 distinct garden zones. There is the large lawn suitable for a whole host of your own sports adventures or relaxing in the sun and breathing in the refreshing sea air.

There is a fenced area which acts as a sun trap on warm days. It includes a rare example of a Monkey Puzzle tree, our kennels and wood store and the designated smoking area (our property is non-smoking throughout including e-cigarettes).

Then there is our vegetable patch. Here we grow our own potatoes, carrots, herbs and rhubarb. If there is any in season we will see what we can do for you!

Finally there is the old croft. This area, uniquely preserved, has the ruins of old croft buildings that you can explore and also, usually, has a friendly sheep or two that would enjoy a slide of toast in the morning or, their favourite, a donut (plain!).

We do allow dogs but we do restrict them to certain parts of the property eg the kennels, garage, utility area, kitchen and dining area.

The house is the perfect place to leapfrog into an amazing island holiday away from the hustle and bustle of life. You will feel the total relaxation and isolation our house offers you.

Comfortable, spacious & well equipped house with great views

  • 5 of 5

Very spacious, comfortable, well equipped family house. Good communication by owner. Generous welcome pack. Very clean and a true home from home. Very well situated with long reaching views and lovely to see the sheep and lambs grazing in the adjacent croft. Would definitely recommend staying here and would definitely return in the future.

Owner's Response: So glad you had a good stay and enjoyed our home, it makes it all worth while. The weather really helped too! Always welcome back any time. The longer winter nights, with a fire on, and the aurora dancing in the sky are also worth seeing. Many thanks for your kind words from all at Hebridean Home.

A Total Gem on Lewis!

  • 5 of 5

We came to this island with little to go on but a hunch that we would enjoy it's remoteness and we left in awe of it's raw and pristine beauty. Malcom's home in Brue is one of the nicest we have stayed in and to have it situated in front of the ocean, two small Lochs and hardly a house in front of that view was hard to believe. We stayed for just a few days and explored from the Butt of Lewis to Androil. Around every corner was something or someone more interesting, friendly or beautiful than the last and we are now smitten with both the people and the environs. This home had everything you could possibly want as far as amenities with large rooms with big windows to take in the that view down to the ocean. As we continued our little tour from Lewis we kept wishing a bit that we were back at the house in Brue on Lewis. It's a fine modern home on a beautiful property and if you are going to Lewis you'd be hard pressed to find better.

Lovely house in a beautiful area with short drive to some spectacular and quiet beaches. Lucky enough to see whales in the bay behind the house.

Superb comfortable well equiped house with great views.

  • 5 of 5

We were staying here for a weeks fishing and the house was really excellent. It was large, comfortable, and really well equipped. A lot of thought had been put into all aspects of the house. The locations suited us perfectly for our fishing - much of which was on the loch and river (Barvas) just down from the house. All in all a superb weeks holiday - Thanks Mac.
