Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Bodega Bay

Country House +Plus+ Cabin: Total 2 Bedrms, 2 Lofts, Den, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Come and enjoy a perfect vacation on 10 acres of secluded beauty. Walk among the redwoods, rest beside the swimming pool, soak in the hot tub, or sit on the deck and view the meandering creek. With two dwellings to choose from, this will be an unforgettable escape.

You can choose to stay in the house, which is the ultimate in comfort and warmth. With two bedrooms, pull-out beds in the living room and TV room, and two bathrooms, you'll have enough room to sleep 7. There's a spacious and fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops, living room with gas stove where you can watch the fire, and a comfortable TV room. Pick from a DVD/VCR collection and watch the flat screen TV, or choose from our CD collection and listen to your favorite music. Wireless internet is also available. The master bedroom is warmed by its own wood burning stove and offers a comfortable and quiet reading area. Behind the house you'll find a private landscaped back yard with a gas BBQ and hot tub.

The cabin is romantic, quaint and extremely cozy. It has a truly rustic feel with enough of a modern touch to make you very comfortable. There is a newly remodeled kitchen, two charming lofts which can sleep three (total), and a living room with a wood burning stove and a large round picture window perfect for viewing the redwoods and creek. The bathroom has a claw foot tub with a view onto a beautiful meadow.

We are located 3 miles west of Occidental on Coleman Valley Road. You can continue on down Coleman Valley Rd about 9 miles to Bodega Bay. This is also a perfect location to visit the Russian River Valley wineries. The famous Japanese enzyme baths at the Osmosis Spa is only minutes away. Golf at several nearby courses, hike the countryside, go horseback riding, kayaking or canoeing. Up to two dogs are welcome with a refundable deposit.

Hidden Gem!

  • 5 of 5

My oh my, where do we begin? Redtail Meadows really is a paradise. We rented the entire property for 4 days In September & had a small wedding there, which couldn't have been more perfect. There is a magical ceremony spot next to the cozy cabin (so romantic!) & we set up tents on the main meadow, where we had our reception. Both the main house & cabin have everything we needed from an amenities standpoint, the pool is heated & wonderful, & the property is picturesque as can be. (Plus, secret treasures: trampoline, bocce ball court, & a swing.) What made it extra-nice was that the owners are incredible to work with; we felt like they really cared about helping us make the event a special one, & they went the extra mile to make sure everything was just so. (Thank you!) We are regular visitors to Occidental & Redtail Meadows is our new favorite getaway spot.

Peaceful retreat amidst the Redwoods

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 spent the Labor Day weekend at this lovely home & attended a family wedding. It was nice to relax & prepare for the wedding festivities & have wine &cheese on the deck. Wake up early to enjoy the wild turkeys passing through the yard. This is an ideal location for a family or group getaway and a perfect spot to explore the coastal region nearby. A well equipped kitchen & a great hot tub!

LOTS of Space

  • 5 of 5

We rented this place for the weekend because my son was getting married in Occidental and we needed more space than a traditional hotel room. It was GREAT! Lots of open spaces and room for my son and his groomsmen to get ready for the wedding. The music library was awesome and provided the perfect mix of background music while the guys were getting dressed. The kitchen was plenty big and well stocked w/ cooking supplies. The bed in the master bedroom was SO comfortable I didn't want to get up in the morning. My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub the night after the wedding to unwind and relax. The area surrounding the cabin is beautiful and we witnessed a deer coming into the back yard while we were sitting in the hot tub. The written instructions on how to get to the cabin were clearly written and necessary since my GPS couldn't locate the place. The owners were very easy to communicate with.

Lovely property

  • 5 of 5

The property is much lovelier in person. The cabin is truly romantic, it is spacious, rustic yet with modern amenities. It was a perfect getaway for my husband and I. We have rented both the house when we had our kids and the cabin. The owners have thought off every detail that made our stay relaxing and very comfortable. The location allowed us to be away surrounded by nature but at the same time close enough to the quaint little town, and nearby wineries and restaurants. We will be coming back regularly.

Wonderful home base for a group to explore Russian River Area

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a great Labor Day/wedding weekend where we stayed at Redtail Meadows and used it as a home base for a group of 7-9 during a family wedding. We rented both houses so could sleep everyone. Both houses are nice, but the main house is perfect for a group to hang out in. Lots of comfy chairs and couches, bedrooms that can sleep up to 6 people comfortably, a very well-equipped and modern kitchen, great board games. It's like having a home away from home, on beautiful grounds. I would highly recommend for any family or group of friends or even just a couple who want a really relaxing getaway near many neat places.

Lovely house & grounds

  • 3 of 5

I thought this rental was OK but not amazing. We had a hard time getting the hot tub to work and couldn't find specific instructions for how to get it to turn on & off.

We were also really looking forward to swimming in / laying out by the pool and it's not really set up well for that. It's completely shaded most of the day, cold, was not super clean, the area around the pool was not swept and there was only one or two lounge chairs. It's too cold to swim in except for on the very hottest days, and doesn't get enough sun for sunbathing.

Otherwise the house and grounds were lovely and stocked with pretty much everything we needed. But if the pool is important to you, your expectations may not be met.

Owner's Response: Trees around the pool were removed recently, so the pool and the surrounding meadow are now sunny all day long. The pool is now heated (solar), making the swimming experience ideal!
