Overview

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday villa in Villeneuve - Rhone Valley - Villa des Cyclamens

Villa, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Come enjoy our beautiful 3-bedroom villa with private swimming pool in the heart of Provence! Located in Les Angles, just 2 minutes from the center of historic Avignon, our home, tucked at the end of a private cul-de-sac, offers a peaceful, private respite amid the pine trees and the songs of the cicadas. The neighborhood is extremely quiet yet within walking distance to Les Angles' markets, cafes, patisserie/boulangerie, newsstands, etc.

The house is a traditional Provencal villa that was built in 1990 with all modern conveniences and volumes. There are 3 bedrooms, 1 with a queen bed and 2 with double beds. In addition, the sofa converts into a double bed. There are two full bathrooms, one with a standing shower and one with a bathtub. The open living room/dining room with fireplace has doors to the pool and terrace, making it ideal for entertaining outdoors during warm, summer evenings. Beautifully appointed, this lovely home away from home will make your time in Provence comfortable and memorable.

Les Angles is ideally located for exploring all that Provence has to offer: the sights of Avignon, including its well known theater festival--Festival d'Avignon, the beaches of the Mediterranean (1 hr), the antique markets of L'Isle sur Sorgues (30 mn), hiking, biking and skiing at Mont Ventoux (45 mn), the Camargue (1 hr) and Luberon (45 mn) areas, the food and wines of this region (Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Cotes du Rhone, etc), and the many charming historic nearby villages (Roussillon, Gordes, Bonnieux).

Beautiful Villa Perfect for Family Holiday

  • 5 of 5

My family (two teenagers + Mom & Dad) enjoyed a week long stay at this lovely villa. It was a quiet location yet close to many shops and central for short drives to beautiful villages throughout Provence. The kitchen was well stocked and the whole family enjoyed the pool in the evenings. The homeowner made helpful suggestions for shopping and restaurants and was incredibly easy to work with. I would highly recommend it.

Villa in Avignon

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful house! We felt very lucky to be so close to everything but not be right in the middle of the city. There are wonderful bakeries, butchers, cheese shops and fresh produce just minutes by foot from this house! Jennifer is so personable and helpful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Avignon villa

Great stay for our vacation. The house, kitchen was well equipped. Good spot for driving to other places for sight seeing. Grocery close by. The owner was easily reachable for anything. Binder with instructions and recommendations was very helpful. Would definitely recommend this villa for a vacation in Avignon.

Excellent Location

  • 5 of 5

Our two week stay lived up to our expectations. The house is spacious and well equipped and the pool and boule pitch helped entertain two active teenagers. We found the location very convenient with the local shops to provide breakfast and a large supermarket only a short drive away. It was easy to walk either to Avignon or Villeneuve les Avignon both 20 to 30 minutes away. Both locations have excellent restaurants and plenty to see and do. The owner and the local caretaker were friendly and sorted the only issue we had quickly and efficiently. We would certainly consider a future holiday in this villa.

Nice Suburban Home - Highly Recommended

  • 5 of 5

This house was a great fit for our family of four. The living/dining room and pool area with grill and petanque court were enjoyable and relaxing. It is a basic and tidy suburban home with comfortable, neutral furnishings and nice plantings in the yard/patio areas. The pool is not heated, but that is the norm in France. The kitchen was very well equipped. Everything we needed foodwise was nearby. The Dia grocery store, a boulangerie, charcuterie, and good take out pizza spot are a short walking distance from the house. The mega-grocery and a favorite boulangerie were a short driving distance. The downstairs bathroom appears recently renovated, and the stand-up shower had great water pressure (much appreciated!) Nice towels and linens, and the beds were very comfortable. Ample closet space with shelves in each bedroom made it easy to unpack and organize and not feel like we were living out of suitcases. Each child had their own bedroom upstairs and a large shared bathroom. All bedrooms had a floor fan and screens on the windows. Regarding the car parking area, make sure you have no larger than a mid-size car, as we had just inches to spare behind the gate in the driveway. Note that while having a car is a must for this home, taking the bus into Avignon is also easy to do, and the stop is a few minutes walk from the house. We usually drove into Avignon, however, 5ish minutes down the hills and straight across the bridge, into the underground parking garage (directions in the helpful informational binder at the house) put you right in the heart of Avignon. This home is a great jumping off point for western Provence--Pont du Gard, Nimes, etc. Our children especially enjoyed swimming at the Pont du Gard, the Haribo Museum, and a sword fighting demo that they were able to participate in at the Castle in Tarascon. It's also an easy drive from Avignon to the east to the Luberon--Gordes, Roussillon, etc. We kayaked the Sorgue river to the northeast and even made day trips to the Mediterranean--visiting Cassis and the Calanques and felt that we had plenty of time for a leisurely day. It was very nice to come "home" after a day of sightseeing and grill out, swim or just lounge on the sofa with a French TV show. Great cable and wifi--no problems at all with either during our 10 day stay. The owner was so friendly and helpful and is a native English speaker. We really appreciated her warmth and kindness. Highly recommend this home for your stay in Avignon/Provence!

A great place

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful house! We are a group of 5, which included a toddler. And we all had plenty of space. It was a tricky house to watch a toddler, with the steps and pool, but doable. The pool was a welcome treat on the hot July afternoons.

Within walking distance to the shops of Les Angles and the bus into Avignon. We only used the car to do day trips!

Will definitely stay again for a return trip.
