This house is fantastic! The views are incredible but it really is only a matter of a 5 min walk down the hill to be right in the town centre. We were there over Guy Faulkes weekend and could stand in the garden and see the fireworks over the harbour .. amazing view and better than being down in town. Very well equipped and warm which in winter is so important. Hot tub very popular with group.
Would definitely consider going back with a group of friends
What an amazing house. Beautiful views from every room. Cannot fault anything.
This is a beautiful house. It is clean and spacious and very well equipped. 21 of us stayed here for a Hen weekend. The views are amazing from the front of the house. It is a five minute walk into town so great location.
The rooms and bathrooms are all lovely. The kitchen is a great place to congregate when making food for everyone and the dining room can be set up however you want it to be for a large party. The staircase is great for group photographs to remember the weekend. The caretaker was very helpful in advance and on the day we arrived.
Would suit large family groups as well as groups of friends. I would love to go bad and do it all again.
We booked the Drury for a hen weekend- there were 21 of us and not one person was disappointed. Fabulous big house in a really central location in Oban. I was designated head chef for the time there and I must say the whole place was well equipped, with some lovely, unexpected touches; wood for the fire-pit and tea lights by the dozen. The bedrooms are all spacious with very comfy beds, and we had all packed winter woollies thinking it would be an old cold house but we didn't need them, we were so cosy it was fab!
The caretaker was very helpful too, and when I said there was no food processor he said if I had phoned him he would have brought one round. Generally cannot fault the Drury- worth going for the view alone. We had a ball there and I would definitely recommend it- both for family trips and girls weekends like ours
we had an incredible weekend at The Drury which was perfect.
The location was fantastic, close enough to town that we could head out for dinner and to see Oban.
The house was fantastic, plenty of space for everyone. There was 16 in our party and it never felt cramped. The house was lovely and clean. Plenty of bathrooms and enough hot water for us all.
The views from the house were incredible and made for a lovely setting sitting in the hot tub.
Gregor was there to meet us on our arrival and gave us plenty of information on the house.
We hired The Drury for a small family wedding in October 2016 and it was the perfect venue!
We decided to hold the ceremony in the hall as it has the most beautifull chandalere and sky light with a lardge sweeping stairway for the bride to walk down, but also because we could leave the outer front door open so we could see the views over to Mull.
The house itself is beautifull and in excellent condition, the garden is lovely and there is plenty of parking at the house.
The owner and property manager were both exceptionally helpfull, recomending local suppliers and services and helping to ensure everything was just right for our special day.
I can't recomend The Drury highly enough and would really hope to visit again in the future.
The sheer variety of interesting locations in the Highlands make touring around worthwhile - while the views and vistas on the way are a further bonus. Some attractions reflect the wealth of the area's heritage, from prehistoric cairns to stately homes and castles.
Others are specific natural features, impressive on their own account - for example, the Corrieshalloch Gorge near Ullapool or the Quirang on Skye. Then there are the wildlife attractions, which range from TV close-ups of nesting eagles to wildlife parks and rare breed farms. Whatever your preferences, variety is guaranteed.
