What an absolute gem?

The owners have restored this Vicoran Historic building in a contemporary fashion and is beautifully decorated to the highest standard.

In this prime location you can enjoy views across the bay from the large sash windows of the lounge, bedrooms and event the bathroom. You can see the fisherman and holiday makers in boats pass right by and you could sit for hours at the window. You could enjoy dinner or breakfast relaxing in the comfortable garden fruniture on the large terrace. Or watch the ever changing tide, or you could sit on the new upper deck at the bistro table and watch the sun go down.

This spectacular apartment enjoys the privacy of 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment is ideal for a special short breaks and is magical and leaves guest wanting to return.

DESCRIPTION

Tenby Beach front Apartment, Laston House, located on the harbour has many original features including large sash windows and super high ceilings. It has been lovingly restored and modernised to a very high standard with a contemporary, chic style using high quality furniture and fixtures.

This unique apartment has and extremely spacious lounge, kitchen and dining area, accommodating a large comfortable corner sofa, an additional sofa, dining table, modern fitted kitchen enjoying beautiful views out to sea from the three large period sash windows.

Kitchen area includes modern integrated appliances - electric oven, induction hob and microwave over.

The lounge includes

A 55inch 3D wall mounted TV with Bose Surround Sound & Bluetooth iPod docking station, Wifi, completes this well-equipped and sumptuous living area.

Along the corridor you will find a tastefully decorated bathroom with over shower, the very large master/king bedroom complete with separate walk-in wardrobe/dressing room and the same sash windows with stunning sea views as the lounge!

The Cwtch - Double doors lead into a further, circular ornate double bedroom with chandelier and original fire place, giving a cosy atmosphere. Includes separate modern shower room.

Bed linen and shower hand towels are provided for each guest.

British Listed Building - Laston House listed 1951

Reason for Listing

Graded II* as a Georgian marine bath designed by a leading architect and for the historical importance in the development of Tenby as a resort.

History

Built in 1806-9 as a public bath house for Sir William Paxton of Middleton Hall, Carmarthenshire, to designs by S P Cockerell of London. When sold on Paxton's death in 1824 the printed sale plans appear to be Cockerell's original design and show the arrangements, then on three levels.

The baths were damaged by fire in 1809 and repaired 1809-10. They were refitted in 1837, for Captain C C Wells. Alterations to the town baths were advertised in 1877, but in about 1884 they were closed and sold to become a private house. Old photographs show the building used in the late C19 as C S Allen's photographic studio.

Now subdivided: No 1 Laston House has the upper floor apart from the left bay, No 2, which is mainly in the upper floor of the Assembly Rooms, listed under Pier Hill. Garden Flat occupies the lower floor and the the patio that covers the former cold-baths and reservoir (also part of the Assembly Rooms building).

A Curving terrace in front is infill of the former cold baths and reservoir, but outer retaining wall rebuilt in front of the original in late C20 after storm damage.

The Porch parapet on the front of the buikding is inscribed in Greek letters 'Thalassa kleuzei panta t'anthropon kaka', translated as `The sea cleanses all the evils of men' (Euripides).

Laston Garden Apartment never fails to deliver and this year the magic of Tenby and this beautiful apartment allowed my boyfriend the perfect space to propose to me. I can’t think of a better place for this to take place but the terrace overlooking the beautiful sea. Its our third year staying at the flat and I hope we will continue to return for many years. Laston Garden apartment is #romantic #magical #perfect!

Fabulous apartment in perfect location

This is undoubtedly the best property in Tenby (we've vacationed in Tenby for many years). The apartment is luxurious, newly renovated and well-equipped. The huge terrace right next to the sea is wonderful. The location in the town centre cannot be beaten.

Alyson was very welcoming.

Most beautiful and relaxing property in Tenby

There are not enough superlatives to describe the beautiful Laston Garden Apartment in Tenby. We have had the privilege of visiting for the last 2 years and we have of course booked again for this year. The apartment is situated overlooking a beautiful beach – in high tide you can jump straight into the sea, at low tide you can just sit on the massive terrace and stare in the middle distance. It is the ONLY property on Tenby that you can directly access the sea.

Starting from the outside – Laston Garden apartment boasts a huge terrace with table and chairs and a hammock, there are various pieces of exercise equipment in the storage room if you’re into that, and a lovely outdoor setting for eating while watching the sun go down (or come up). There is nowhere in Tenby with a view better than here. It simply isn’t possible to improve on the space – sitting on the terrace makes the entire bay your own private world. There is nothing like it. The inside is beautiful too, but that’s not what you book it for.

Inside a large lounge / kitchen / dining area with everything you need. There is a TV but we have never switched it on (we are always on the terrace) There are 3 bedrooms but the main rooms are the circular room – a beautifully designed bedroom with a bathroom just down the corridor or opposite and the other main bedroom with sea view and the most comfortable bed ever! With two bathrooms you never have to wait for someone to finish!

When you stay you would not be blamed for having all your meals on the terrace but save one evening for the fantastic Plantagenet restaurant just up the street. The food is fantastic and if you are lucky they might even seat you in the chimney!

With Tesco (and Tenby town) just a short walk away you have everything at your fingertips and the best bit is you have your own private oasis away from it all at the Laston Garden Apartment.

Heavenly

We could not have imagined a more perfect flat at a more heavenly place. Alyson was helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The flat was better than expected-- and our expectations were already high. We swam at south beach; Touched the boats in Tenby Harbor at low tide; visited Caldey and St Catherine Islands; walked part of the Pembrokeshire coastal path; visited St Govans Chapel and had many a fine meal in and around Tenby. What a gem of a place! We Home Away renters are lucky to have flats such as this one to call ours for a short period of time. We hope to come back some day. Thank you Alyson.
