Double WOW

  • 5 of 5

The house is a WOW and the location is a WOW. We have a very large family and this time we had friends as well. Travel is usually stressful because we have to stay in multiple motel rooms and never enough space. Normally when we reach our final destination, even though there are enough pillows for everyone, there a still a lot of stressful moments sharing bathrooms, spending the day hauling laundry, etc.

Not in this house. The house was very spacious. We often had to location family in the house when time to eat. Instead of us eating in shifts, the kitchen was large enough with enough counter space to cook everything and prepare for everyone at one time and we where able to ALL eat together as a family. We really enjoyed the two outside grills. Once again, large enough for our family to all eat together. We also had a choice of eating outside all together or inside. There was enough space and seating for both.

Having two washing machines and two dryers allowed us to do laundry while we cooked and no one had to stay back to do laundry while the others had fun.

The location is the best we have ever been at. The views where so breath taking that we often did not want to leave the house and when it was time to go home, we where all sad.

If you have a very large family, this is the place to stay. You will have an actually relaxing vacation and all be able to enjoy it together.

this house is in an amazing setting!

  • 4 of 5

We had a large group staying here for the eclipse and enjoyed it very much. Incredible views all around. Large rooms. Fantastic deck. Nice house. Had all we needed for making meals. Enjoyed the town of Dubois and evenings around the fire pit. Rented ATVs and rode and hiked trails right from the house. 3 hours to Old Faithful. Closer to Grand Tetons. My only criticism is that it is an exaggeration to say it sleeps 14 people, unless many of them are children. There are 4 large bedrooms, with comfortable beds, and each bedroom has its own, internal bath. But the futons are in the living room, or inside one of the bedrooms. There is no access to a bathroom for people sleeping in the public areas, except by going through a bedroom. There isnt even a powder room! Thus it is VERY awkward if an an unrelated adult is sleeping on a futon. And there are no window coverings in the public rooms so the morning sun wakes these folks up. Plus, a futon is barely comfortable for one adult, and certainly not for two. Bottom line, this house sleeps eight adults (four couples) comfortably. In addition, it realistically handles 4 or so kids. Other than that, all is very nice.

Owner's Response: First I want to thank you for choosing my house for your stay. A lady from your group did call me almost a year ago when the house was originally booked. I remember it fairly well because we discussed the solar eclipse. We discussed sleeping arrangements, view of the sky, etc. I explain to her about the futons and also made some suggestions about possibly moving the futons at night to the dinning room for more privacy. Most of my rentals are 12 to 14 people and in fact one of the 5 star reviews is from a group that I allowed 16 people because they had two toddlers they wanted to sleep in the king beds. I think your situation is unique that you group may not have been all family and where staying together to see the eclipse. The house is accurately described including the number of bedrooms and that futons are double beds. Double beds are not queen beds but can handle 2 people that do not mind sharing that size of a bed. Being that the house does have 2 king beds and 2 queen beds in addition to the futons, family can make decisions are who may best fit in a double bed. The bathroom downstairs is just a couple feet inside the bedroom and designed so that you do not have to walk past the bed, dresser, or even the TV. It is just 3 feet to the right when you enter the room. That is more convenient that most motels. Again, I do thank you for staying at my home and hope to see you again.

WOW!!!

  • 5 of 5

Very spacious home with plenty of room for large group. The description is accurate, if you plan to visit Yellowstone or Jackson pack your lunch or be ready to spend some money. Everyone was very impressed, & would definitely stay again if the drive from Houston, TX wasn't so far.

Wonderful Mountain Home

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at the property for 12 days and had a wonderful time. I was looking for a place close to Yellowstone & Grand Teton parks and this fit the bill. The home is perched up on a hill just outside of Dubois (Dew-Boys) with a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains with the town in the distance. The wildlife viewing on the property was amazing. Every morning and evening we saw deer, elk, coyotes and foxes. We rented ATV's from Full Throttle sports in town (speak to Alan the owner) and explored the hills behind the home making our way over to Union Pass which follows the continental divide. The area is so beautiful and there is so much to explore. We ate in town several times at Cowboy Café and Nostalgia Bistro and visited the handful of shops. There are several day trips you can try such as three lakes and a wildlife preserve south of town. We did make our way to Yellowstone and Grand Teton twice and the drive is about an hour to the park entrance. We also went to Jackson but I preferred the solitude and slower pace of Dubois. I would highly recommend the home.
