Stunning views, traditional features, rural modern facilities and our pool

Nestling in the mountains, Villa Amores is a mere 15 minutes walk from the pretty white-washed village of Canillas de Aceituno, and has spectacular panoramic views over the Sierra de Tejeda to the blue Mediterranean Sea in the distance.

The house offers spacious accommodation and wonderful seclusion, perfect for those looking for contemporary comfort combined with rustic charm.

The ground floor is built in an open plan layout. The comfortable and spacious living room has a central fireplace. Adjoining the living room area is the dining area and fully fitted kitchen.

The interiors are light and airy with beamed ceilings and French doors leading out from the living-dining room onto two terraces, where you can savour the glorious vistas, relax, unwind, enjoy a cocktail or glass of wine and enjoy the sun set.

Down the hallway you will find the family bathroom with bath and overhead shower, a downstairs bedroom (2 single beds), a useful wardrobe/ store cupboard, and the stairs to the upper level.

Upstairs, the landing leads to 2 further bedrooms (both double), one of which has a 4 poster bed. Both bedrooms have their own private dressing areas and en-suite bathrooms with shower. They have access to a very large roof terrace, with beautiful views of the valley, Mediterranean sea, the village and the Sierra de Tejada Mountains.

The living room and all bed-rooms benefit from fully fitted Airconditioning.

In addition the house is fitted with underfloor heating for convenience during the colder winter months from November to March, and the airconditioning in the bedrooms also functions as air heating.

Outside, the covered terrace has a built-in barbecue making it ideal for outdoor cooking, and the walled pool/ sun terrace with an 8 x 4 pool...

In summer the pool is naturally warmed up by the sun shine but in spring and autumn the pool is heated to a comfortable 25-27 degrees celcius using an eco-friendly inverter system. Please note, the pool is not heated during the winter season from November to March.

A winding path leads down from the terraces to the rest of the garden, including a small grove of carob, almond and olive trees.

The house is set within walking distance from the picturesque village of Canillas de Aceituno. The village has a good variety of shops, bars, restaurants and other facilities. It is one of the most beautiful villages in the region. More shops and restaurants can be found in the nearby village of Vinuela.

Velez-Malaga en Torre del Mar are 20 minutes by car, and the Mediterranean sea is just 5 minutes beyond.

About George & Daniel

We are Daniel Tiel and George de Graag. We live in Holland, between Amsterdam and The Hague.

Daniel has worked in the Dutch banking industry for over 25 years, and is currently a senior consultant in Training & Development.

George has worked in Human Resources in Hotels for over 15 years, most of which in the London area (where we met), and currently works for a large Health Care Insurance provider in Holland.

George & Daniel purchased this villa in 2014

Why George & Daniel chose Axarquia (Costa del Sol)

First time we visited the property we fell in love with the views, the quiet & rural location and amazing sun sets- and that has not changed over the years.

Since we purchased the villa we have retained that feeling, changed some of the interior/ decor, added huge outdoor brick planters, pool heating & airco for the bedrooms.

In the near future we are planning to make further changes/ additions to the garden and the "usual" replacement/updating of facilities and equipment.

What makes this villa unique

Where to start:

- a private 8x4m Pool, which is heated in Spring and Autumn to provide for pool fun from March to October (not mid winter)

- 3 spacious bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and individual A/C units

What a fantastic Villa

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Villa Amores, the house and location are simply stunning. It was everything my family and I had hoped for and more. The rustic house itself is very spacious, beautifully decorated and equipped with all the facilities you would need for your stay. The garden was an absolute joy, whether we were playing in the pool, relaxing taking in the views on the balcony or having lunch in the outdoor eating area it was an idyllic setting. I could sit taking in the mountain views all day long.

I cannot recommend Villa Amores enough, all the family had a wonderful time and would love to go back again. It was also a pleasure dealing with the owners George and Daniel, who made the stay as easy and painless as possible.

Wonderful Villa

My family of 7 had a wonderful holiday at Villa Amores. We have been renting villas throughout Italy & France for a number of years and this by far has been our best experience. There was plenty of space both inside and out with everything finished to a high standard making it very comfortable and pleasant to spend time there. I have never gone on holiday and cooked so much, I didn't want to leave. The English tv channels and wifi were a big hit with my teenage children and the goats tinkling across the mountain every evening caused great excitement with the younger ones! Situated just outside Cannilas, villa Amores is perfectly positioned with 3 lovely restaurants, a bakery and shops to cater for all your needs. A trip to Alhambra in Granada is not to be missed and we particularly liked Torre del Mar ( a seaside town at the bottom of the mountain) which was more Spanish than the busier more touristy resorts along the coast. George & Daniel were so lovely to deal with and always responded promptly to any queries we had. The Villa was stocked with lots of complementary extras that I have never experienced before. From someone whom I know it's hard to please, it has been a pleasure. Thank you

Beautiful villa in a wonderful location

A superb holiday villa, one of few that deliver MORE than the photos and description suggest. We visited at the end of October during rain and sun, with some chillier nights (but also some great sunshine in between). Villa Amores was warm and cosy with all the facilities you need (Wifi, underfloor heating, duvets, well equipped kitchen, cosy sitting room) even when the weather lets you down. There is a great covered balcony at the pool-level terrace from which you can enjoy outdoor dining even if the weather is less than ideal. And the views are fantastic - I could watch the light on the hills all day. Views are even more fantastic from the upstairs balcony - the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine at sunset (or moonrise - over Canillas after dinner). Peace, privacy & tranquility, but just close enough to Canillas town for evening meals on foot (a steep 1 km into town, but great on the way back down). We loved the pool (heated), and the kids enjoyed the waves at family-friendly Torre del Mar (30 mins), and caves & coast at Nerja (1 hour), and hiking up la Maroma mountain from Canillas was unforgettable! Booking and payment were easy and secure; George was always quick to respond by email. We don't usually go back to exactly the same place twice for holidays, but we'll definitely make an exception for Villa Amores!

Simply perfect

First of all a big thank you to George - for the great communication and information we received before our arrival. No silly question of mine was too much trouble.

The house itself is an absolute dream. We stayed here in September for 2 weeks and seriously enjoyed the location, pool and house itself + the surrounding areas.

The house is tastefully decorated, was comfortable and had everything we wished for - a good kitchen, great BBQ and very comfy beds (much bigger than it looks on the pictures).

The first few nights we only sat on the terrace, and the sun set is beautful, peaceful and quiet.

We spent a few days at the small beaches near Nerja, highly recommended as it does not look like the beaches of the Costa del Sol with its horrible high flats.

We also took on the challenge to get to the top of the Maroma - it took a few hours but when we got there it was as if the world was at our feet, so peaceful, and then we had to get back down again...

The village of Canillas de Aceituno is picture perfect, small and very cosy. The 3 restaurants are certainly worth a visit. We also had lunch at the "Las Perlas" restaurant which George recommended - and indeed it was jummy.

Also the internet connection is super fast!

All in all a great holiday, and a house to return to...

Aangenaam verblijf

Beste George en Daniel,

Na een zeer aangename vakantie is het toch wel een hele aanpassing zowel wat het weer in België betreft alsook de sfeer en gezelligheid die we hebben mogen meemaken tijdens onze vakantie. Zoals we reeds vertelden, was het uitzicht prachtig! Zo ver je kon kijken en vooral ’s avonds waren de kleuren van het landschap fascinerend. We waren bijna elke avond opnieuw verrast door de ongelooflijk mooie en rustige sfeer.

Er zijn zeer vele troeven aan het huis : mooie beplanting, veel aandacht voor belichting rond het huis, aangenaam zwembad (perfect van grootte), leuke en gezellige kamers, aandacht voor decoratie … Het overdekt terras met de prachtige grote tafel is zeker ook een meerwaarde, vooral wanneer het toch een beetje te warm wordt.

Wij vonden het eveneens handig dat er een brochure met algemeen informatie, adressen en ander weetjes beschikbaar was. De keuken was wel goed voorzien van bestek en keukengerei. Zeer handig was de wasmachine. Zeer goed koffiezetapparaat! Kleine tip : voorzie een fruitpers.

De kamers en badkamers zijn zeker goed (goede bedden).

We vonden het ook zeer aangenaam om via jullie te huren, goede en attente service (leuk om na een week vers linnen te krijgen), zeer correcte communicatie en snelle reactie op onze vragen!

Beatiful house, great location

This is a wonderful house, beautifully decorated and very well kited. We (4 adults and 2 teens) spent 10 todays this summer and enjoyed the house, the local town, the proximity to the sea and a not too long drive to Granada.

Villa Amores is decorated with incredible taste, it is larger than the feel you get from the photos. The rooms are very comfortable, the living room / dining room / kitchen area is large. We spent a lot of time in the outside terrace in the evenings looking at the sun going down across the hills. Of course we enjoyed the pool and the sun.

There are several places in the town to eat, a few bars and shops for basic food stuff. Half an hour drive there is a well sorted super market and the sea side.

We highly recommend Villa Amores and hope to return soon. George was very helpful and there is good information on the town and surroundings, plus a good bottle of wine upon arrival.

George, thank you very much for such a wonderful house, we have great memories to last a long time.
