Our home is your setting for a perfect vacation getaway. No matter what the occasion, whether serious fishing expeditions, family fishing or snow skiing vacations, golf outings; family reunions; university events; or corporate and private retreats, this home is ideal. We're on-the-water so you can fish right out the back door. You can also launch your own kayaks or tubes on-site as well.

We're located just 3 minutes from the town of Gunnison and the Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport. Just a few miles downstream the Gunnison River flows into Colorado’s largest body of water, known as Blue Mesa Reservoir where sight seeing, boating, sailing, and fishing abound. If you’re inclined for a game of golf you’ll be excited to know that we're actually surrounded by the Dos Rios golf course where the public is welcome.

Fishing – ESPN recently ranked the Gunnison River as 'the best overall freestone trout river in America'. The famous blue ribbon waters of the Gunnison River offer trophy Brown, Rainbow, and Cutthroat trout literally within 50 feet of the house. Within 30 minutes drive you can also be on the Taylor River, East River, Spring Creek, Lake Fork of the Gunnison, or Blue Mesa Reservoir. The possibilities are simply endless. Also, if you happen to stay with us in the September-November timeframe you can catch the Kokanee salmon in the river as they make their way upstream to the Roaring Judy hatchery. Picture yourself spending a day from dawn to dusk with great fishing, rafting, kayaking, hiking, skiing, exploring abandoned goldmines, or just relaxing on the deck and listening to the river.

Skiing – Just a short 30 minutes away is the picturesque town and resort of Crested Butte. Crested Butte features some of the finest snow skiing and snowboarding in the country. Crested Butte is not only known as the 'Last Great Colorado Ski Town' it offers an amazing shopping experience with its prominent Victorian architecture within the ever popular Crested Butte's national historic district. You'll pay a fraction of the cost with us, versus lodging in Crested Butte. In fact, this home would cost upwards of $800/night in Crested Butte.

Hiking and Biking Adventures - The Hartman Rocks, visible from the front yard, provides a high-desert (8,000 ft above sea level) riding/hiking adventure over a 6,000 acre basin. Diverse options include both miles of smooth, sage-lined single track to concentrated slick-rock technical sections. Trails are for bikers, runners, hikers and there are climbing/bouldering areas as well.

Gunnison River Lodge always delivers!

  • 5 of 5

This split level home has it all - beginning and ending with location. Situated right on the Gunnison River in a quiet neighborhood is this gem of a vacation home. It is extremely clean and well kept. We started coming here for one of our annual vacations in 2009 and have returned every year except one ever since. The owners clearly appreciate the Colorado experience! Make sure you get fishing advice from Jeff, the owner. He is an incredible source of expert information about rivers and ponds throughout the area. The house has the feel of home with a spacious finished full basement and a picture perfect yard. The 2 decks offer peaceful views of the river and we loved grilling dinner on beautiful evenings. The local golf course winds through the neighborhood alongside the property, which is minutes from town where we enjoy wonderful meals at local restaurants. There are plenty of beautiful hiking trails available in the area and to top it all off, the owners are so nice! They are always very responsive and you can tell they care about their guests' experience. Working with them

was always a breeze. Don't waste your time looking any further - this is the place you have been looking for!

Wonderfully relaxing home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Gunnison River Lodge. It was the perfect size for all 8 of us to comfortably enjoy each other's company, but to spread out when we needed to. Everyone loved fishing right out in the backyard & we even saw a black bear! It jumped in the river behind the property & swam across! Our girls loved having the huge yard to run around in (once the bear had moved on) & the basement on rainy evenings. We're pretty sure they were well on their way to becoming pool sharks! We hiked Hartman Rocks, Lamphier Lake, hit 3 Rivers Resort for white water rafting (Alex was an awesome guide), rented a pontoon boat on Blue Mesa, visited the Black Canyon for hiking & fishing & enjoyed a day of lunch, shopping, hiking and live music in Crested Butte! Not to mention enjoying downtown Gunnison itself. Wonderful place, we were sad to leave. Thank you so much for such a lovely space to enjoy our time!

What more could you ask for

  • 5 of 5

A group of around eight of us rented this house on the river last Fall. It was amazing. Well kept.....that includes clean. Well laid out for a large family or group. Golf course out the front door, the river out the back door (I think I could about cast from the deck into the river without getting out of my chair), and about 40 minutes from Crested Butte. We will definitely be back.

A little piece of heaven

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Gunnison River Lodge for a family reunion.

It was truly a beautiful get away. The lodge has all the comforts of a five star

resort. The quiet and peaceful setting was spectacular. We even had our own

river in the back yard to fish from. It was so relaxing, we didn't want to leave.

Already looking forward to the next time!

Perfect for fishing & hiking with friends

  • 5 of 5

A bunch of us from around the country met in Colorado to hike and fish. The house is clean, spacious, well stocked, and has Gunnison River access literally out the back door! It is close to downtown Gunnison shopping and is ideally located to offer all kinds of fishing and hiking options. This is a perfect spot. We will be back!
