About the property

Murini Loft is located on Wiestistrasse, a quiet part of town, conveniently situated close to the lift station, the Zermatt electrobus, train station and local amenities.

It is just a five minute walk to the Sunegga lift, and a further two to three minutes to the Gornergrat railway and the centre of Zermatt.

Murini Loft is a duplex apartment on the 4th and 5th floor of the the Murini building (lift) offering amazing views of the Matterhorn. The apartment sleeps 6/8 people and comprises one king size double and one twin /double room on the 4th floor entrance level, and a further twin/double on an enclosed mezzanine floor above the 5th floor. The king sized room is dual aspect with south facing views of the Matterhorn. It also has a separate bathroom with twin washbasins, W/C and a Jacuzzi bathtub with showerhead.

The double/twin room on this level also has stunning Matterhorn views. This is an ideal family room as there are also two luxury sofa beds that convert into adult size beds, so the room can sleep four people if required. This room offers a spacious en-suite shower room with W/C and washbasin.

The third bedroom is on an enclosed mezzanine level above the living area. It can be a twin or a double room and has amazing views of the Matterhorn through the sky light window. There is a shower room with W/C and washbasin on the living area level.

Each of the three bathrooms has a hairdryer for your convenience.

All of the bedrooms have a TV with local channels for your use.

The main living area is on the 5th floor and is accessible either by the staircase up from the 4th floor bedroom level or by a separate entrance door leading from the lift.

The living area is spacious with skylights, windows and doors leading onto the balcony, all of which have magnificent views of the Matterhorn. The living area is open-plan with a well equipped kitchen (dishwasher, coffee machine, raclette and fondue etc...), and a dining area that comfortably seats 8 people.

All rooms are equipped with under-floor heating, and for those winter evenings when you would rather stay in than explore the town there is a log burning fireplace.

The apartment is equipped with LCD TV with cable multi-lingual channels (including BBC and ITV). It has high speed wireless internet which is provided free of charge.

The apartment has a lift and communal laundry and ski storage facilities.

Murini Loft is above Murini Cloud 9 in the same building, making it ideal for a larger group or for more than one family that are travelling together but do not necessarily want to stay together. Care has been taken with all of the apartments to ensure that they are equipped so that they are attractive, but also practical and family friendly. Good quality furnishings have been used but there are no irreplaceable antiques to worry about if you have small children.

Fabulous apartment in stunning location

We had a fabulous holiday in this stunning apartment. It has just the most wonderful view of the Matterhorn, with everything you need (and more!)

We used it as a base for many hikes and exploring the local area. All the summer lifts and the mountain railway are within walking distance.

Lesley met us at the Railway station and had a taxi waiting to take us to the apartment. Stuart met us at the apartment and was very helpful, explaining all about the apartment and the local area.

Highly recommended, thank you for an amazing holiday!

Zermatt is located 4 1/2 hours by train with only one change from all the main airports, Geneva, Zurich and Milan. Easy train connections from Geneva and Zurich airport (train station in airport) and a possibility to obtain reduced rate train tickets if purchased before entering Switzerland (we can advise on this). Taxi transfers available from all airports (we can organise this for you).

Zermatt is a car free village so if travelling by car you can drive as far as Tasch where you must leave the car in the main car park or one of the garages and travel the last 10 minutes by train (trains run every 20 minutes) or taxi. Electro taxis are available at the train station to take you to your accommodation.

The car free resort of Zermatt is situated at the foot of the Matterhorn in Switzerland and offers access to a ski area of over 400km, connected to Cervinia. The village is situated at 1560m and with the highest cable car at 3888m it ensures excellent skiing in the winter and great glacier skiing in the summer. A climbers and hikers paradise with 38 peaks over four thousand metres and breath-taking views, Zermatt has something to suit everyone.

Available winter activities include Alpine skiing and snowboarding, heli-skiing, winter hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoe walking, sledging, ice skating, ice climbing, ski touring, swimming (indoor swimming pools), wellness centres, paragliding passenger flights and helicopter sightseeing tours.

Summer activities include mountain biking, the Forest Fun Park, tennis and 15 minutes by train to the golf course. A visit to the new Matterhorn Alpine museum is a must.
