I don't usually write reviews but i thought this one was worth it.
Its a very big property and rather impressive, the photos do not do it justice. Inside it is a very comfortable temperature and nice and clean, you do not even need the air con on. Outside there is plenty of space for everyone, and the pool is the ideal place to cool off after exploring the island in the day time. Villa manager and owners were always on hand to advise and answer our questions. The village the villa is in is very quaint and well located to visit other parts of the island. The island itself is magical and has been on our bucket list for many year. We were not disappointed.
we spent a week at this amazing villa. when we arrived we could not believe how impressive it was, its more like a castle. inside was well decorated, clean, spacious and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need.
outside, there was just so much space, the different terraces offered our group of 12 enough space to really enjoy our holiday without feeling like we were on top of each other. the pool was a highlight. we loved the location, how peaceful it was, you really do get to unwind here and the views are stunning. the village of megalahori is very beautiful and has some very good restaurants, we loved feggera.
the villa manager was great and knew just about everything about the island, she gave us some great recommendations and also booked us a catamaran trip to the volcano and hot springs where we had a bbq on board, and later in the week, horse riding for us girls. the cleaner came every other day and even babysat for us one night.
overall, our time at this villa was one of the best holidays we have ever had, a truly fantastic, unforgettable week. would definitely recommend.
Wow! This villa is stunning!
This old winery has been lovingly converted and has such character and charm. It's spotless and has everything you need. We loved the little touches like the light shades out of old wine barrels - very clever!
The village of Megalochori has managed to retain it's traditional Greek village feel. We loved taking our morning walk through the winding little streets to the bakery (and walking a little more crooked on the way home from one of the tavernas in the lovely little square). Exploring was such fun as there are some incredible buildings with such history - plus you always saw a donkey, can you get more Greek than that? It really was a taste of authentic Greek village life. A perfect escape with stunning views.
The island is small, so the hustle and bustle towns were only a short drive away. In fact the whole holiday there was amazing. Topped off by fantastic hosts who couldn't do more for you. We came back from our stay here feeling refreshed and energised. Can't ask for more from a holiday really. Top notch!
The winery/house was very unique and charming. The house was exactly as it appeared in the pictures. Sarah and Iro were excellent communicators and provided us with lots of good information. We absolutely loved the catamaran tour they booked for us. (Spiridakos Sailing Cruises) That is a must do! Especially if you have kids. Also, Perivilos was a fantastic beach. The kids loved it. It was very clean, it had a wc, a full bar and food menu, chairs, and umbrellas. Everything you need to spend an entire day there.
The main thing we didn't like was the location. It was in the middle of nowhere. Granted, nowhere is only 15 minutes from Fira. But that was not the impression we got when we booked it. It was literally surrounded by desolate land, donkeys, cats, birds, and dogs. We could only see the ocean on a clear day. Not many neighbors at all.
So, a car is a must if you want to do anything besides swim in the pool. Also, the house needs a good sprucing up. It felt a little dirty. And by the end of the week it smelled bad. We were very excited when we first arrived. But we arrived at night. In the morning our excitement was dwindling a bit. The house itself is still very cool, being an old winery. It could be good for some i'm sure. But if we returned to Santorini we would not stay there.
This villa is absolutely amazing, I can see why people have said its more like a castle. Stayed 9 night with 9 adults and there was more than enough room inside and out side for us all. Manageress gave us a warm welcome when we arrived, booked trips and would help with anything we needed.
Lovely local village a few minutes walk away with nice restaurants and an amazing bakery we went to daily.
Would definitely return.
We had a superb family holiday on Santorini and the Villa was one of the stars. Well equipped and ideal laid out for a family with grown up Kids, we had enough space to get away if needed and also great community areas.
A nice pool and patios to spare!
Santorini is a busy island and as a family who like quiet the villa was well located as it was about as quiet as you will get on Santorini. If you want the constant buzz and noise of people this is not for you.
The only down side of the entire experience was the Mosquitos (be prepared for them)
A great place and I would recommend to my friends.
